Mara was fantastic with the technical stuff before I saw the doctor. Listened to all of my concerns and explained things so I understood. She put me at ease. Dr. Oberreiter is very knowledgeable and helped me understand the big picture. In this season of life, my eyes have been impacted by lack of sleep and general overall health. Dr. Oberreiter took time to explain things for the future and how I can help myself now. Everyone in the office handles themselves politely and professionally. Services related to eyeglasses are poor and secondary compared to opthalmology services. The availability of assistance in the optical department is unpredictable and only available on certain days regardless of their normal business hours being 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Don't expect help to be readily available when fitting and choosing eyeglass frames, or for frame adjustments without confirming that the optical department is open before visiting the Springfield location. read more

Giving two stars because during my visit, the people were very nice. Gailey eye clinic charged me $30 for a contact fitting I never had. How do I know this? I never tried on contacts or had a doctor look or talk to me about contacts. I told the doctor about contacts I generally wear. I recently had eye surgery so I am not currently regularly wearing contacts, which is why I refused a contact fitting. When I called the clinic to dispute this, they told me they "had all paperwork that I had a contact fitting". The information they had is what I provided them. Not only is it illegal to charge me for a service I didn't have, but they just lost a ton of business on me buying glasses there. Do not go there unless you want to get scammed out of money. read more

Amazing clinic, great service, would reccomend. My wife and i were able to schedule back to back morning appointments. And while they book 2 weeks out, it was well worth the wait. This clinic has mastered customer service, and eye care too. Glasses were at a reasonable price, and they were understanding if you wanted to get frames/lenses elsewhere. All the staff are highly knowledgeable and experienced, as well as patient and caring. They take their time, and they make you feel like royalty. You have their undivided attention when you are there. 5 stars, would reccomend to friends and family. Best eye clinic i have ever been, and ever will go to. Thank you. read more

I went to Gailey Eye Clinic for a check up. I found out that I had cataracts that needed to be removed was referred to their location in Bloomington, IL to have them removed. I had the left eye done first and all went well then returned to have the right eye done that is when things got interesting. My heart rate was at 30 bpm which meant that I could not be given any anesthetic before surgery. The cataract was removed with out anesthesia I felt the incision being made felt the lens being taken out of my eye and felt the new lens being put in. It was an assembly line type of operation and I for one would never go back. read more

We've been going to Gailey Eye Clinic in Springfield, IL for over 10 year for ourselves and our children. The doctors are great but the business and billing side are terrible. I've had multiple issues over the years with them billing insurance correctly and being completely rude and disrespectful over it. They have sent the wrong codes many times, and I have to spend hours on the phone trying to fix their mistakes. The most recent issue went on for over 6 months, and I had to call repeatedly only to find out recently from my insurance that Gailey had misinformed me of the issue the entire time, and now it was too late to appeal. I call and speak to multiple supervisors and a manager in billing, again spending an immense amount of time, for them to just say they don't care, and I'm responsible for the full amount despite the fact in was their mistakes over the whole time not to mention the rudeness level was off the charts. They wouldn't even consider taking any money off. Customer loyalty means nothing to them. Our family will not return, and I advise you to also find an eye entity that owns their mistakes, treats customers with respect and values loyalty over a buck. read more

Staff was nice and waiting area was also very pleasant but none of that mattered because they did see me until 30 minutes after my appointment time and I was there 30 minutes early. Found out LASIK is not for me since my vision needs correction for both far and near sightless. Overall, huge waste of time at an undesirable appointment time for which they were late in seeing me. read more
