Location: At soho area, I happened to encounter with The Humminbird Bakery. Place is definitely decorated with warmth and heart. Pinky decoration, pinky wall paper, pinky plates and pinky everything. Food: had cheesecake tart instead of their signatured cupcake yes, it is sooo good and delicious as well. Cheesecake is balanced and only bit sweet. Service: nice! Overall/: a must go bakery shop at London.

Hummingbird Bakery has six locations in London. The Hummingbird Bakery serves traditional freshly baked American-style desserts such as cupcakes, layer cakes, and brownies. Red Velvet cupcakes are their best seller with yummy traditional cream cheese frosting. The Black Bottom cupcakes are also delicious. I have the original Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook and three other cookbooks have since been released. The ladies were fun, friendly, and helpful. They offer a loyalty program for free coffee. There is something obsessive about cupcakes. I'm starting to think I'm developing an addiction. But cupcakes thoughhhhh! I even love the way the word sounds itself. The cupcakes at The Hummingbird Bakery are fancy and fashionable, like some high-school girl out of your league. When you get to know them better you realise that they're also lovely, fragile and need your love. And that's how you fall in love. You'll feel the butterflies when the tiny bites come to your stomach and all those goose bumps are a sign for something big. You know this kind of love would never fade with time. It will burn and consume you every time you think of it.

10 steps that need to be implemented every time one visits this place. 1. Go to Hummingbird. 2. Graze on the array of sweets. 3. Spend around 15 minutes contemplating which cupcake to eat. 4. Decide. 5. No, REALLY decide (if you can't, just get Red Velvet). 6. Spend more time reflecting on your decision. 7. Move on to the till. 8. Pay. 9. Leave the premises immediately. 10. Consume If you fail to apply step 9 you might end up repeating steps 1-8 until you decide to go online and look for a new gym to join. Yes, it's that good.

Yum yum yum! OK, have you heard the simile 'like a child in a candy store' ? They should totally change it to 'cupcake shop' This place has the colourful-est choices of frosted goodies - making me salivate at the thought of purchasing a few. The actual cupcake is moist and the frosting isn't overly sweet. Perfect. I would recommend the Red Velvet cake - a hearty slice with a hot brew is just *drool* Service is very helpful and patient plus if you take away they give you these cute little box/baskets - so cute. I would recommend getting the recipe book which I owned before I even bought anything from here - I was truly impressed.

OH YES! Cupcakes for the win! Oh so lovely, so amazing! I really wanted to take 1 of each taste! And the cakes, how beautiful the Rainbow Cake looked and the Mile High Chocolate ( i will try this one for sure next time) But I went for 3 cupcakes after being recommended both from friends and from the ladies who work there, Red Velvet, Black Bottom and Salted Caramel. I dont think i've eaten so good cupcakes ever, the cake itself is so light and fluffy, and the frosting on top is even more tasty! Go there!

Love the cakes! Not too sweet but yet leave a sweet mark on your taste bud. I tried 2 types of cakes. Lemon somethig n a whoopy cake. (See my pictures attached) The thing that i think not too satisfying: No toilet No wifi connections

Grrrreat cupcakes! This shop is great because it's not full as much as the Notting Hill and Kensington branches. My favorites are carrot cake and cheese cake cupcakes!

I don't know what I can say about this shop that has not been said already. But the cupcakes are so damn good that I can't help myself yelping about it! Before starting reviewing I need to give a big bravo to Hummingbird for putting up such a great internet website. That's the key really to sucess, because when you see such yummy cupcakes in HD on your screen, you just want to go straight away to try it out. This Hummingbird Bakery is located on the famous Wardour Street, just beside one Pastry Shop that looks also very appealing from the outside window. The shop is colorful in a pink-mauve color that's make its very perky. Inside it's very small but clean and there's often people waiting in line to get some of these sweets. Some seats near the wall are available but very very tiny space. The cupcakes are normal sized, but for some the frosting is very cute and colorful. I must say that I've found the frosting to be delicious even if it's maybe a little too sweet for me. I think their real power is the fact that they really look mouth watering. What's not to be missed : I think the all time favorite is the Red Velvet, Deep red vanilla cake with a light taste of chocolate, topped with cream cheese frosting. For the chocolate lovers you have the Chocolate Malt Cupcake with some very nice chocolate topping on the frosting For the real fans out there you got also the Peanut Butter Brownie Cupcake (special cupcake selection) Money, money, money : The cupcakes go from £1.75 to £2.25 for the normal selection. The special cupcakes cost around £2.95 That little thing : The little boxe where they put your cupcakes are nice. It's fit, so the cupcake won't fly all over around. You also have to give some point for the online order. You need to order 2 cupcakes minimum and the delivery cost is quite expensive. W1 £6.95 W2, W9, WC1-2 £11.95 W8, W10-11, W14 £14.95 (for the rest of the areas you can look it up on the website) What needs to be work on : the seatings! again i always find the seatings in this kind of place to be too small. It's too bad because sometimes you really want to sit down for a while and enjoy your cupcake.

I stopped into Hummingbird Bakery to pick up a few cupcakes on the last day of my London trip (read: eating binge) and ordered the lemon and the red velvet cupcakes. Maybe those were not the best flavors to order, but in my opinion, they were lackluster. Maybe I'm spoiled by the vast selection of cupcakes in New York City, but these just felt underwhelming and bordering on tasteless. I would compare them to the cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery. Some may like them, but not my thing.

I didn't have the highest hopes walking into Hummingbird Bakery.. We needed cupcakes for a friends birthday on Soho Square and ended up here. AMAZING cupcakes. Fluffy, light, just the right amount of frosting to cake. And - they've got some creative flavors. Snickers, key lime, black bottom and carrot cake were our favourites. Thank goodness I don't live to close to Hummingbird, otherwise I would have trouble staying away!

Man is this place heaven on earth :D If you know me then you'll know how much I love cakes. I have tried many places in Birmingham and when I was going to London I wanted to find a place to go get some. Thankfully, a week before my trip my friend had gone to visit family and went to this bakery. I saw pics and her review was really good. So it was the place to go when in Soho. On my way there I saw a queue at a shop and wondered what it was, then I saw the Hummingbird sign. Man is this place popular. It was raining and I was not in mood to queue in rain. So we decided go walk to Chipotle which was further down the road and grab some food and hopefully on way back the line would be gone. Turned out it was a gpod call. On way back there was no line. walked in and got to look around and choose the flavours. They all looked yummy. I ended up getting 4 cupcakes ( 2 red velvet, carrot and vannila) which came down to just over £10. It is pricey but I they tasted delicious. Especially the red velvet ones. Icing was creamy and cake was just right, not too dry. I also liked the carrot one but did not like vanilla. So loses a star for price and that vanilla cupcake. Will definitely go again for more.

Definitely a novel experience with their huge chocolate peanut butter and red velvet whoopie pies the size of a softball, their selection of cupcakes with classic swirl frosting [flavors such as biscoff and key lime, nutella, oreo, vanilla], chocolate mayonnaise (?) bunt cake, the "mile high" slices of cake such as red velvet, salted caramel chocolate, Brooklyn white out, carrot, raspberry, and of course, the rainbow pride cake with white icing, and sister cupcake with a rainbow fondant on top. They have brownies as well, red velvet seems to be their go-to flavor for every pastry. A little pricey for a cupcake (£3.80) and for a cake slice (£5.60) eat-in. The cake is a bit dry and dense, almost tough like a non-cakey cornbread, but perhaps there is a need for a heartier batter to maintain the sky-high layers of the cakes. Definitely branded well and the inside of the shop is very cute with all the cake displays and neatly maintained case of sweets. Staff are friendly and try to keep the queue moving quickly, and they do box up and bag the pastries well. I'd say a 3.5 star rating, rounded to 4.

My only regret…read moreis I wish I had more people with me or I wish I was hungrier cuz I really wanted to order ALLLL the pastries! My husband and I decided to try for a table and we ended up waiting about 45 min - 1 hour to sit. There was a super short line for to-go pastries (and sometimes there was no line), so if you're pressed for time, definitely do that! I love how the Arome workers help move the line along and help people in line find tables. Also speaking of Arome, the AROMA was fantastic! It smelled to buttery and fantastic both inside and while waiting in line. I ended up trying: the iconic Honey Butter Toast, Black Sesame Mochi Cookie, and Almond and Chocolate Croissant, a Savory Croissant (I think Sausage and Cheese), a Chai, and a Matcha. Everything was SO GOOD. All the pastries were amazing. I'm glad we got a mix of sweet and savory things. Everything we had was buttery, flaky, intentional, and made with love. What you'll like the most will depend on your personal flavor preferences! Definitely give this place a try!

According to their website, they deliver "European excellence with Asian flair" which is really a great way to describe their pastries and the experience! Definitely the quality that you would expect with some of those Asian flavors. Here is what we tried: Chocolate Pistachio Escargot (5/5): Shaped in a snail shell, in between the flaky layers of pastry were luscious chocolate sprinkled with pistachio for nutty texture. Really enjoyed this one! Honey Butter Toast (4/5): Touted as their signature, I had high expectations for this. It is exactly as described which that slightly sweetness from the honey in a perfectly toasted milk bread. I did enjoy this a lot but also felt like it would benefit by having something else for texture or contrast. Chicken Butter Croissant (4/5): The croissant had the nice flaky layer with chewy interior. I loved the savory chicken sausage with the slightly sweet soy glaze that provided nice contrast and that Asian twist. When we got there a little after opening, there was no line but all the seats were taken as the place is quite limited on seats. While we were asked to wait for a little a bit outside, we did not have to wait too long. However, the line did end up getting longer as we were leaving and some ended up eating outside. Overall, if you are interested in tasting some tasty pastries, I would recommend Arome!

As we were walking around Borough Market we saw the line for Bread Ahead and realized it was for the donut stand they had outside along the street. We had to jump on line and drool over the display of sugary goodness. We each tried a different donut and was not disappointed! So many varieties to choose from - coconut, lemon curd, blackcurrant cheesecake, seasalt caramel and honeycomb, and others. They don't skimp on the fillings as each bite was flavorful. Yum!

I'd reccomend checking out the bakery as this is where the fresh goodies are made and you're more likely to get the fresh batch here. Price wise, it's a bit steep. At 5£ per donut and 6.50£ for a piece of focaccia. But you're in a tourist area so high prices should be expected. We opted for the cheese focaccia that came right out from the oven. For 6£, it's not bad. It's pretty sizable and a good shareable snack! It's a good crusty bread and had a subtle garlic flavor with a blend of stringy cheese. If you like cheesy garlic bread, this is for you! Out of all the snacks you could get in the borough market, this is a solid option! But I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.
