I had cateract removal with premium IOL inserted in July of 2025. I STRONGLY Do NOT recomend Dr…read moreCrowder. There are so many reasons, especially now in hindsight, that he was so awful. *I paid top $$ for the highest level Panoptix Pro lens but instead of using Panoptix lens, he used, without my consent, a lens that had been given a RECALL! B&L Envy. My vision was not good, after first surgery, so he offered a "free" replacement with a true Panoptix Pro. *After first surgery, I looked like I had been in a fight, eye was so bloody. I assumed this was normal--happened after 2nd surgery, too. He did blade--it is not normal for eye to be bloody! Also, I was not given the serial # of my 1st surgery lens-- I didn't know that I was supposed to get that either... Until after my second surgery when I was handed the paperwork about my Panoptic serial # and prescription ... I can only assume I didn't get the paperwork 1st time because I had been given the incorrect, recalled lens and he expected to never have to disclose that. *During 2nd surgery, supposed to use Oric machine to verify lens prescription, but so bloody, Oric couldnt get reading. Also, I will add that it should be customary to get steroid anti-inflammation eye drops to reduce swelling--I was not given eye drops. I went back to his office twice in first week following 2nd surgery complaining of headaches and worsening vision. He said it was normal and would improve... The second time I demanded that he give me steroid drops for my eye, which he did. *After 2nd surgery, vision was worse. No correction with machine in office could produce clear vision. I missed work 4 times for this follow up, for him to try to figure out what was wrong--one visit because HM office didnt have the correct machine. Then, after traveling to Gainesville where the "correct" machine was, the nurse dilated my eye then he said he couldn't run the test with eye dilated. So 3rd time, back to Gainesville, he did the test, said he needed more time to study and analyze the problem. I went back 4th time (after my 2nd surgery) and he still had no clue why my vision could not be corrected. At this point, I went to two other specialist to get second and I finally found a had all the correct machines and the mindset to help me figure out what was wrong... What was wrong? Was the lens was not in the correct position in my and it was back and shifted over to the left... That's why nothing anybody could do could give me clear vision because the actual lens was whack inside my eye. This wonderful new Dr was able to do a lens repositioning surgery, after diagnosing the problem. However I can now see better out of this eye and it can be corrected to 20/20 with machines, but without a contact lens or without glasses, it is still not 20/20 in this eye, still blurry, so the second lens that the first doctor put in my eye, was STILL not the correct prescription. *Do NOT allow Dr Jefferry Crowder in Gainesville/Lawrenceville GA to cut on your eye. He is horrible!

On my to do list for 2025, I saw Advanced Eyecare for a treatment plan regarding cataracts. I had…read morebeen told all my life that I would need it sooner or later and I opted for sooner. After an exam and consult, I was moved to an "educator." This person goes over and explains the different lens "options" and their cost. I had NO idea that the surgery offered lens options that would "enhance and/or correct" my vision (aside from the cataracts themselves.) The staff was enthusiastic and thorough in explaining the options. Unfortunately...the results I was told to expect have not been realized and will NOT be realized without a 2nd procedure and additional $$$. I became animated and agitated because this absolutely would have changed my thinking on lens options and surgery altogether. I was NOT given all of the information I needed to make a decision regarding long term permanent solution. This 2nd procedure was described to me by Dr. Ackerman as a little "trick" or "tweak" that took only 10 seconds. I'm sorry, but please do not describe making an incision on my eye as a "trick. "He brushed off that I wasn't told in advance. No one on staff denied my concern. They only minimized it and continued to ask if I wanted to schedule the surgery or not. NOTE: This package treatment plan came with a guarantee that if needed, LASIK/LRI at no cost if needed *after cataract surgery. Of course, that's "not what I need" according to the staff. But it's free if that's what's needed. I cannot see my children in the pool...I Cannot read street signs...I cannot read the channel guide on my television. I am out a considerable sum of money and have nothing to show for it and have received a notice of termination of the physician/patient relationship. ALL OF THIS FOR A "10 SECOND "TRICK"

Was charged additional $115 to have one eyelash removed that was turned inward at suggestion of doctor during exam. Was not told there would be an additional charge for him to do this, otherwise I would have declined. Charging patients for services without disclosing costs (or the potential for additional cost) is not a way to do good business. Be careful if you use this practice.
