HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE WITH Gainesville GMC- SAFETY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE NEGLIGENCE I never thought I'd have to make a post like this, but my recent experience with Gainesville GMC has left me shaken and deeply concerned. I took my vehicle to this dealership, trusting that I'd receive high-quality service. Instead, what I got was pure negligence that could have cost me my life and endangered countless others. The dealership failed to properly secure my tire during service and do a proper oil change. Simple and routine maintenance on any vehicle. As a result, the tire studs was stripped along the sides unknowingly and eventually completely fell off my car while I was driving down the road. The damage to my rim and the situation itself were terrifying. The thought of what could have happened--to me or others on the road--still haunts me. This is not the level of service anyone would expect, especially from a dealership. What's even more disappointing is how this was handled afterward. Barely an apology with all the "fixing" to ensure things right to be utterly false. I was even misled about the service supposedly being done both times "correctly"--when clearly, it was not. I'm sharing this to warn others about this dealership and their shocking disregard for basic safety standards. I've attached photos of the damage so you can see just how serious this situation was. I found a vehicle online in their inventory that it was interested in. The price seemed right and inquired about doing a trade in. since I was about 2 hours away we did everything online. I sent them my current vehicle info and pictures. the next day they sent me their proposal. The numbers were ridiculous. First of all, total low ball trade in offer on my trade. It was $3500 lower than what Carvana was going to give me. Then I looked at the numbers on their vehicle and there was a line for "Add on" cost of 2k. when I inquired about that, they said it was paint, leathe, etc protection that they put on all their cara. I told him I didn't want that and didn't want to pay for it and they said I had to. I told them if that was the case, it should be added to the price of the car. There was some more conversation back and forth but we didn't come to a deal. Based on the low ball trade offer and the hidden fees, I would be leery of doing business with them. I was hesitant to purchase vehicle from Gainesville GMC due to all the bad reviews, but they had a great deal on a truck I couldn't pass up. Dalton was the sales specialist I worked with primarily, and he was even kind enough to deliver the truck to me 5+ hours away for a reasonable fee. I talked with Danny, the sales manger, about my concerns with the reviews. I was specifically concerned with so many reviews saying that it took a long time to get the paperwork. Danny ensured me that they are under new leadership and this was nothing to worry about (I shouldn't have listened). I was had to call twice a day every day for the last week to try and get a copy of all the paperwork I signed. Finally today I got a hold of someone from finance who told me they could not deliver them digitally, but had to mail me a copy. I guess we'll see if they ever actually show up. Went in this morning for an indicator light that kept coming up on my dashboard. When I made the appointment, I was told that the diagnostic fee would be $189.95. The wait wasn't too long and they sent me a short video of the repairs that needed to be done (which I appreciated). Since none of it was a safety issue, I decided to have it all done when I go back for an oil change soon. Upon checkout, they told me the bill was $231.77. When I looked it over, there is a line item labeled "shop supplies" for $25.64. I asked why I was being charged this extra fee for shop supplies since I had absolutely NO WORK done and the salesperson couldn't fully answer. (I don't blame her BTW, she was very sweet.) I asked her to please go ask what that was for and when she came back she said she was told it's an extra tax that all dealerships charge. Something feels very shady about that. I understand actual sales tax but to label something "shop supplies" under the category of miscellaneous charges seems incredibly dishonest especially when NO service work was done. Anything used during the diagnostic should have been covered by the original $189 quoted amount. This is exactly why people feel like car places rip them off---hidden fees. I am hesitant to go back now to have the rest of the work done and will probably shop around for a different place. DISAPPOINTED I purchased a 2023 Ram 1500 11/25 from Gainesville GMC. Upon delivery they were to provide my paperwork. Admittedly I was stupid for leaving without it. Text from my Salespersons last week, said he was on vacation and forgot. I've been calling every other day, no return calls. To date 12/7 2 WEEKS and still no paperwork. I sent a chat message from the Morgan Group site and the GMC Manager called. Said he spoke with the Finance person and they mailed a thumb drive that I should receive by Monday 12/11. HUH? What happened to "OVERNIGHT". Even USPS would get it here faster. I said I would drive down (1 1/2 hrs away) and pick it up. The Manager said "But it has been mailed!" My car arrived first week of May for collision repair. Unfortunately, the mechanics here do not possess enough knowledge to complete auto repair in a timely manner. As a result my car was there from May 5 to July 5. Instead of admitting he couldn't fix it. The mgr. responds with "another 90 days." We had to go to the body shop, only to learn that the car was totaled out. He should have admitted he couldn't fix it back in May. If you want your car repaired do not come here. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a dealership repair shop. I went there for a $70.00 oil change and was charged $269.00 for a transmission flush. The service advisor, Rachel lied to me about the price and wrote a different price then I was told/quoted on my paperwork. I disputed the charge with the manager, Morgan who told me, "It's my word against hers" and he refused to take my credit card payment and told me I could only pay for my services with cash only. BTW this company takes checks, cash, or credit cards as forms of payment. I have been a loyal customer to this company since 2021. I should have been stop doing business with them. This was not the first bad incident with this repair shop, but I guarantee this will be my last. The sales and service people at this dealership are unprofessional, unethical, and untrustworthy. Buyers beware! Incompetence and empty promises are abundant. My son purchased a vehicle from out of state and once payment was received I flew down to pick it up. Upon arriving, I waited about an hour before being told everything was all set. An hour into my 18 hour drive home I was contacted and told that no one had put a reg plate on or put any paperwork in the vehicle. I decided to continue and made it home. The dealership mailed a temporary plate as they had told my son they had to register the vehicle and had charged him a fee to process his reg. plus appropriate sales tax. plate on or put any paperwork in the vehicle. Three months later, three temporary plates and numerous phone calls with promises each call that "we'll get back to you" that never happened, I had had enough and left a message inquiring whether we needed to get an attorney? The next day my son got a call advising him the paperwork would be sent to him and he would have to register the vehicle himself. The dealership apparently had intended on keeping the fee they had charged him to register the vehicle because until he asked, they never offered a refund. The third temporary reg had expired and he had to drive three days without one as they did not send another one. Their excuse over the three months was the Ct. DMV was extremely difficult to deal with, yet my son accomplished it in one visit. Also, they had not paid the full amount in sales tax and my son had to cover the extra cost. First, go look at the 1 star reviews , there are plenty service related. I'm not going to waste your time telling the long version. My wife went in for a free oil change that she won and was sold services she didn't need and told I requested them when I made the appointment. Don't let them swindle you. I contacted them after the fact and they where unapologetic and blamed my wife. Good luck if you choose to use them. I texted and emailed about this incident. They responded via text with no apology and basically blamed my wife. Then AFTER I wrote a negative review GMC called and tried to offer me a free oil change to make it right and specifically told me I would have to take down the review. Again, they offered no semblance of an apology and doubled down blaming my wife outright lying about the interaction. I came across Gainesville Buick GMC while navigating via USAA's car buying service. The salesman, Josh Vowinkel, was eager and persistent, but dropped contact for a few days after telling us the vehicle sold; we later found it was still available. Josh came back around when he saw my follow up inquiry regarding this same vehicle. Frustration was introduced when I arrived at the dealership to purchase the car. During test drive, my husband heard a noise (defect); it wasn't a deal-breaker, but we wanted it corrected before leaving the lot. Oddly enough, Gainesville Buick GMC mechanics leave for the day while cars are still being sold. Josh wanted to close the sale, so he said: don't worry, just take it today and you can visit a local mechanic to have a checkup/repair and we (Gainesville Buick GMC) will cover the costs. Bottom line, they did not. The details, we went to 2 dealerships to get an inspection, 2 estimates. One was more than $1000, the other $170. We were prudent with the offer and simply wanted the issue corrected; local dealership charged $177. Josh said no problem, just send the bill showing that you paid and I will deliver it to my finance team to get you a check cut/reimbursement. Two months later and countless inquiries, we never received a check. I give up. I'm disappointed this minor transaction had to be exacerbated. I'm disappointed I cannot recommend family and friends (or strangers) to this company; I just don't trust them to make decisions based on the best interest of others vs their financial gain through deceit. Purchased a used 2021 Chevy Malibu from them back in April and recently went back for my free oil change and to get my tires rotated. When I was looking at the car I noticed the glovebox was damaged and was told that they would get that fixed for me. The keyless entry also did not work on the car when I purchased it, which I, again, was told they would get it taken care of. I even bought a warranty, which I was told would cover all the electronics in the car but, looking back on the warranty, electronics was never checked as part of this warranty. This weekend when I mentioned both things they told me it was "not in their system" under some kind of "we owe" area of the contract. This was never brought up at all nor was it shown to me when I was signing off on the contract. Now that it's 3 months later they will no longer be fixing these things since there is no record of it and I also have learned that fixing the glove box includes replacing the entire dashboard! I thought "at least I got my tires rotated..." Nope! Come to find out the car I purchased had 3 different types of tires on the vehicle, so upon tire rotation and being able to drive off the property with that not even being mentioned to me the car was pulling hard to the right. I brought it back to the dealership immediately which is when they told me the bad news that I had mismatched tires. I spoke to the sales manager and he said they would "see if they could get me discounted labor on the tires." They unrotated my tires and are refunding the amount I paid and will supposedly call me by Tuesday about getting the other two tires replaced to match. The lady who sold me my car seemed really bothered by me that I was even asking questions and was quite rude and eventually just told me to talk to the sales manager as if she was sick of dealing with it. I was told that to diagnose the issues with the keyless entry and some separate shifter issues I was having that it would cost $190 to diagnose, but they wouldn't be able to tell me if that was covered by my warranty until after they did it and charged me. Absolutely wicked business practices. If you buy from here, double, triple, and quadruple check every warranty/contract you sign. Will update my review once I hear back on everything but as of right now, I'm ridiculously upset with how I was misled. read more

Bought a car in Dec was broken and in the shop 4 times. In June I was frustrated and they suckered me into trading the vehicle. All they had at the time was something older more miles and more expensive. Then I was just in there this past weekend and was going to have them buy it back and buy something else. Its just a scam to get you in the door where Ms. Deandra will take your personal information before informing you that you didn't actually win. She is persistent in trying to keep your information as well, so better not give it to her in the first place. I don't know what marketing genius thought that making people think they won $2500 and giving them a cup instead would go over well in this economy. If you get a ticket in the mail, don't waste the gas. If you're looking to buy a car, I would recommend finding a dealership that doesn't practice such blatant bait-and-switch tactics. Thieves in my opinion. Called to get a quote on a truck I was interested in. First they add in a $4000 dealership fee called the Gainesville Advantage. Then $2000 in doc fees. Both of these are just padding to what they are already making in profit above MSRP. Private tag agency fee of 189 and non tax fees of 813 - these are also BS fees to make more money off of the consumer. Poor business practice and they quickly lost a sale. read more

I have used the Collision Center several times over the past ten years and Mike Swinehart has always treated our vehicles as if they were his own. He always been highly professional and courteous in communicating with us especially during the current struggle to get parts in a timely manner. I bought a car from them. The salesman that I had was great. He made jokes, was knowledgeable about my purchase and was very patient and answered every question that I had. The only reason that I deducted stars was because the vehicle was supposed to be "detailed" but when I picked it up the next day after signing their were masks left between the seats on the inside, crumbs of some sort were left inside and the steering wheel had a sticky substance (hopefully Bar-B-Q sauce) on and by one of the buttons which made it a stick so it was hard to push down. When my salesman called to follow up with me about my experience, I told him about it and he told me to bring it back so they could take care of it. I did so the same day, they took care of vacuuming but you could tell they didn't touch the steering wheel. I just said that i would get a good detailing and let that be that. read more

Stay away from MORGAN AUTO GROUP DEALERSHIPS!!! We bought TWO NEW Yukon XL's at the Buick GMC in Gainesville. We performed all of our service at the same dealership for these VERY expensive vehicles. Most recently the issue cost us $1600. When we left the parking lot, the issue that we just paid for, came back before we got home a few minutes away. We wanted to buy a third new vehicle but they didn't have any in stock. We had to drive to the next town because we don't have the time to go back and forth every time they don't fix something right-which happens often by the way. This was about the third or fourth time that we paid for something that was not fixed. But the situation was so wrong on many levels. I asked for a full or partial refund, especially after being so loyal, and they refused. The GM spoke to me in a "nice-nasty" way the entire time I reasoned with him. After all the business we've given them for years and would have continued to do so, still nothing. When you walk into a dealership make sure you ask if it's part of the Morgan group of dealerships, and walk right out. read more

Listed a truck on their website that had not gone through their inspection process. I was originally in contact with Steven, who seemed helpful at first. I drove from west palm to Gainesville to look at the truck, and it wasn't until I arrived that I was told (by Neil) it had problems and couldn't be sold. When I asked for clarification on what the problems were he was unresponsive. I was then told by Steven, in fact it could be sold. I asked that before I stop by someone explains to me what the problem is so that I can assess if it's worth buying still as I have a 5month old son and I don't want to spend hours at a dealership if I'm not going to be leaving with a vehicle. I was assured by Steven on multiple occasions that someone would be in touch right away to let me know. I never received a call/email or text with this information. Progressive sent me to the collision center last year after an accident. They fixed the damage from the accident over a months time however, when I picked up my car I noticed the deck lid was cracked. I immediately asked for a manager who stated that yes, they cracked it removing it. I was offered compensation or to have it fixed. It wasn't cracked during our accident so I stated I wanted it fixed as it shouldn't have been broken at all. This was all in November and they still "can't get the part". Took the vehicle to a mechanic and it was only valued to be $11,000, while the out the door price at the dealership was $21,500. They were caught using white out on paperwork. I absolutely cannot believe that none of the Buick service employees were masked. None. There is a mask mandate in Alachua County right now - that means legally mandatory indoors, vaccinated or not. So in addition to breaking the law, they are basically saying to customers that they don't care if they are responsible for transmitting a deadly virus to them and potentially killing them. Both times I've had the inconvenience of visiting this place in the past few months- one to buy my car where he rushed my while my kids were screaming and took advantage of a tired mother to buy a car there, and another to the service center where I felt like I was buying a car again and not just trying to get repairs on the crappy car I bought there- I left in tears and felt so slimy like I needed a shower My recent experience, I had to call several times to get a quote to decide on repairs there THAT I SAID IN THE CONTRACT I WANT A QUOTE, when I got in invoice at the end of the day for service I didn't authorize. Fast forward to the next day (while I'm paying daily for a loaner car from them), they still are not sending a quote even though I called several times. So I leave work early to go in and the quote was sitting on the desk. Not sent to me. They charge me $109 to tell me nothing is wrong with my ac, another $109 to tell me what is wrong with my airbag sensor and tell me they can rake the $109 off if I decide to get the repairs. But I can't shop around BECAUSE I NEVER GOT THE QUOTE. They did $60 tire rotation on my car that I never authorized. So then they try to sneak a $150 cleaning in there that I told them I don't want, and then still try to sell me it. They also tried to sneak in the $109 diagnostic fee for the repair, even though it is supposed to drop off when I get the repair. So then they take off the diagnostic fee and keeps trying to say it is a discount like he did me a favor. He then also dropped the cost of the $60 rotation that I didn't authorize to $40 like he's doing me a favor when I didn't even authorize it to begin with. I left feeling disgusted and upset and sick to my stomach, a full day and a half of calling and trying to get this information, and then trying to deal with a slimy carsalesman-type just to get my car serviced. He didn't even care that I was at $1300 for repairs, he just wanted more and more. They are there for what they can get out of you rather than what they can give. IN A SERVICE CENTER!! Unfortunately I will HAVE to come back here if I want to get repairs covered under my warranty. But I will drive to another city to find a Dealership service center that is not like this. read more

She worked very close alongside finance and secured my sales with great warranties, and gap. I was very impressed on how well she communicated with me via email and over the phone. Bought a 2020 GMC Denali on 07/02 (16 days ago). Get it home, realize that night that the interior lights in the truck do not work. Husband goes to hook our 2022 boat up to the truck, trailer connector is not working (lights do not work on the trailer, even though it was hooked up to the truck we had before the GMC the day before we bought it and it worked fine), lane assist did not work either. Take the truck to the service department, they say the trailer connector is just fine, and the fuse is blown for the interior lights so it will be $800 to fix JUST that problem. We have not even made the first payment on this truck. Dealership is refusing to fix anything as nothing is covered under warranty. How were we supposed to test the trailer connector to make sure that was working properly before driving the truck off the lot? DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. The whole reason for buying a bigger truck was to haul things and now we cannot haul anything with the truck as the lights do not work on the trailer! read more

I have had good experiences with the service department for the most part. Minus that I have had to bring my car back for the same problem twice now and have only had it for a few months. As far as the purchase of the vehicle through the dealership...this was a complete and utter nightmare that I cannot begin to explain the ridiculous situations I was put in with multiple fraud attempts and several unauthorized inquiries on my credit. I could have easily taken this dealership to court over the fraudulent financial situation my mother and I were put in. Although the employees themselves are nice people....that experience will forever leave a terrible taste in my mouth. Since the purchase, I have taken my car back for service\oil change only to find they charged me for the oil change but never actually did the work!!! I will NEVER go to this dealership again. This is the second time I have had my truck there, and the second time they keep wanting to jerk me around about picking up the truck. Five weeks they have had it, and at least six different excuses why they don't have it done yet. Two of the excuses were they were waiting for parts that were send in wrong (pretty easy to blame the warehouse since they aren't there to defend themselves). Maybe management should be more honest, get competent help, more help or combination of all three. My car came in over the Labor Day holiday. For over a month I was lied to about the progress on my car by the advisor assigned me my car. I'd call and get an 'update'. That particular update was that the "suspension was done and all that was left was to paint". Then call the General Manager to clarify something since my advisor was unavailable. At that time I found out the car had almost ALL the work left to be done, and it had already been 4 weeks!!! The GM said it still needed suspension work, body shop, glass and paint. I called for an update again, was told by the advisor that "all we have to do is get the glass in and test drive it, the glass is being put in today". That was Tuesday, for frame of reference. On Friday we were told that the glass was in, but it still needed to be reassembled, and test driven. I was SO ANGRY. Don't lie to me about the progress of my car. You had the car for about 6 weeks and as far as I can tell, the first 3 weeks, not one damn thing I was told about the progress of my car was accurate, in fact, it seems no one started working on it until just 3 weeks ago! The LYING seriously eroded my confidence in this place. The LACK of COMMUNICATION seriously damaged any possibility of obtaining a good review. Had I NOT BEEN STRANDED IN GAINESVILLE, I ABSOLUTELY WOULD HAVE REFUSED TO HAVE MY CAR AT THEIR LOT, OR IN THEIR GARAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AS I had no other choice, I feel they totally took advantage of my insurance, my time, my money, my insurance's money, my trust, and any ability to have any amount of "Good Faith". I RECOMMEND YOU NOT GO HERE FOR ANYTHING. ALL THEY DO IS LIE. I HAVE CALLED USAA and filed complaints with them also. I have posted a poor review on YELP, Google, and FB. I bought my car from Gainesville GMC last year and from the car salesman to the repair shop service is horrible. Within a few months of having the car my car cut off in the middle of me driving due to a shredded battery that they had not replaced before selling me the car. When I called Gainesville they were rude about it, so I ended up bringing my vehicle to another repair shop. Fast forward to this year my car is not starting up even after I've replaced the battery. I took my car to Gainesville GMC Friday morning and have gotten no information from anyone even when I call. They told me Friday to check Saturday, but when I called Saturday morning they told me to call today because they still didn't know what was wrong with my vehicle. When I called they still hadn't gotten around to knowing what was wrong. On top of all this they don't have any loaner program while I'm stuck waiting just to figure out what is wrong. read more
