Ok, The reason I have changed my review is because the service manager Paul contacted me due to him finding the lousy review I posted. "Yay, I am a fan" because it takes guts to tackle a reviewer head on and find out what happened. Many managers would have just not bothered to contact me (as has happened when I have complained about a service.) He offered me a discount on service if I brought vehicle in to get it serviced and also to replace a part that the service techs neglected to replace when last they serviced my vehicle. Wife's car had an oil leak. Buick Verano. Received the estimate of around $950.00 to replace the cam shaft seal. They also claimed a cover gasket leaking and needed replaced as well. Both repairs for the $950.00. Then the upselling started. Additional services they recommended, I believe were transmission fluid replacement, radiator flush and I think oil change? Grand total around $1750.00. I didn't believe the cover gasket was leaking. The idea that both started at the same time was suspicious. My guess was that oil had been sprayed on the cover from the serpentine belt. I did believe the cam shaft seal was the problem. Fairly common. I told them that it was at least twice the amount I expected on the estimate. Said no thanks. I was charged $155.00 for the diagnosis. Called around to some local repair shops. Had the repair done for $124.00. No gasket leak. The seal is a $20.00 dollar part. The repair cost less than the the estimate.. Never again. They can't be trusted. read more

My wife and I bought a new 2011 GMC Sierra Rocky Ridge Edition truck from Wade Raulerson in Gainesville a little over a week ago. From the moment we drove onto the lot, we were treated like gold. They gave us top dollar for our 2007 Chevy Tahoe trade-in. They knew we were looking at a similar 2011 truck down the street, so they made us a great offer. Needless to say, we drove off the lot with it that afternoon. From the sales staff, to the financing department, to the dealership management, to the service guys that got the truck ready for delivery, everyone at this dealership was top notch - polite and accomodating. We will definitely be back to purchase another truck. I've got a growing landscape company in G-ville, and I'll be needing another work truck soon. I bought my car from Gainesville GMC last year and from the car salesman to the repair shop service is horrible. Within a few months of having the car my car cut off in the middle of me driving due to a shredded battery that they had not replaced before selling me the car. When I called Gainesville they were rude about it, so I ended up bringing my vehicle to another repair shop. Fast forward to this year my car is not starting up even after I've replaced the battery. I took my car to Gainesville GMC Friday morning and have gotten no information from anyone even when I call. They told me Friday to check Saturday, but when I called Saturday morning they told me to call today because they still didn't know what was wrong with my vehicle. When I called they still hadn't gotten around to knowing what was wrong. On top of all this they don't have any loaner program while I'm stuck waiting just to figure out what is wrong. read more

I'm supposed to be bragging about a dealship. In reality I'm bragging about my new used car. Still without the sales staff of Gainesville Buick GMC I'd still be driving my 2004 truck. First off I don't look at vehicle ads very often or buy one. I've driven the Dodge truck we traded in over 10 1/2 years. The Dodge van before it 4 years and the Chevy van before that over 7 years. Notice also I am not a fan of one particular make, altho GM seems to be my favorite. I don't know why but I decided to look at one to two year old Impalas. To me most cars look alike no matter what the name on them is. The rest look like breadboxes! I have a few friends and relatives with an Impala so between them and the Malibu I began surfing the web. After the fact, after I bought my 2014 Impala, I read 54 owner comments. Aprroximately 4 were negative and I have no idea why. As most wrote, the newer 2014 Chevy Impala rides as nice as a larger more expensive car, is quiet, takes dips and bumps reasonably well, and seems to be built with quality with the owner in mind. The negative comments about front and rear visibilty are confusing to me. There is an outside mirror on each side, a center rear view mirror and a large unobstructed rear window. A minor complaint may be the rear headrests do block a very small portion of the rear view mirror view. Some say they can't see without a rear camera. I've been driving trucks with a topper and semi tractors. Those side mirrors are there to look behind! Another complaint was windshield reflection and glare from the light color dash. Our Impala has the nearly black sort of charcoal color. Very nice looking and no glare that I've noticed altho I've only driven it 50 miles so far. Of that 50 miles I drove in one of those Florida gully washers. I never moved the wipers from high delay setting. Seating is very comfortable and roomy. I'm six foot. In fact I didn't need to move the seat or tilt wheel. A minor mirror outward adjustment to eliminate those little blind spots was all I did. The V-6 engine is 300 HP and feels like a high performance V-8. Sure the little 4 cyl gets a few more MPG but why sacrifice power! The only thing better would be a 1958 Impala SS. I'm not good with a computer but recently bought a house and then most of the furniture off the internet. So why not buy a car that way? We are mature for our ages so walking is difficult. I found this was a great way of looking at many cars without moving off my rear! Why buy a 1 to 2 year old car? First off someone else got the bugs out of it and I find most are half the price of a new one. I personally like red cars. RED, not fake red like maroon or other shades of purple. Try to find a nice red used car in central Florida! But with my luck the first two Impalas I read about were a bright red 2013 Chevy Impala and a maroon 2014 Impala. They call this one red or actually Salsa. But that makes me hungry! I read and studied these two cars. The 2013 has 51,000 miles, is actually 2 1/2 years old, with less options than the 2014. The 2014 seems to be a new model altho they all look alike to me. Comments say the 2013 is uncomfortable with cheap looking trim. Still I love RED! But in reality the 2014 has 21,000 miles on it and is actually just one year old with a sunroof and other added accessories. The 2014 is almost red and comfortable! The prices were not all that much different and I actually sort of like this maroon red Salsa color. So I chatted with BuickGMC of Gainesville, I emailed, I talked on the phone. I found out what my 2004 truck was worth and we wheeled and dealed over the phone and internet. My salesperson, Mike, was friendly, understanding, and helpful. He and the other salesmen who ganged up on my wife and I never once tried to sell us a car. They told us what we were looking at and what they'd give us for my truck. All of this was painfull because I don't want to sell my truck. Still we bought another home with a garage door too low, no longer camp so don't need to pull an RV, and the fuel mileage on that hemi was killing me. I needed a fuel efficient mid sized car. The 2014 Impala Limited fills that need and it rides great, looks great, and we made a great deal. Remember, I got an estimate on my truck? The dealers actually gave me $1300 over the apprasial I had plus didn't charge me $300 for the dent in my truck bumper. Not only that but somehow the total came out $50 less than quoted in the final emails. When I mentioned this they let it slide. I've never been treated like this on any vehicle purchase. In reality I still paid a fortune for the car because of all of the special fees. Yet it was at least $5000 cheaper than dealers back where we are moving and under my local dealers here. Yes, I wrote a book but I wanted to let others know that Gainesville Buick GMC is a great place to shop! So we got the maroon 2014 Chevy Impala. Not new but so close most will never know. They have been nonexistent in their communication as to why the wait has been so long. Garry has constantly told me, it'll be done next week, then the week after, then another week, and another week.. They have inconvenienced me multiple times because of this with little apology. My son had put down a $500 deposit on a truck until I could look at it with him, they said they had everything they needed to hold the truck. Then an hour later they called and told him the truck had been sold, they're explanation was the paperwork had not been completed. Total BS, someone came in and they just decided to sell the truck, where I come from that's what a deposit is for, to hold the vehicle for you. Very unprofessional, I will NEVER buy a vehicle from them, either will any of my family, very poor way to do business. read more

While their truck selection is decent it's hard to say I like this dealership. My sales rep was super nice and all that but seemed to lack some fundamental knowledge of the vehicles up for sale. I ended up buying a truck that was in for trade in that day and got what I assume was a good price. My trade in was slightly lower than I had hoped but they have to make money. The problem lies in that a week after my purchase my battery died which tells me their 100 point inspection was a joke. Three weeks after my purchase my AC condenser broke which they gladly replaced for $900. I negotiated the price with the service manager down from $1400 and their service guys/gals seem good but I'm dismayed that their inspections on used vehicles are a joke... If they truly wanted to retain my business they would have charged me for the condenser price and no labor since I doubt the condenser really worked when they took it in and it was likely just refilled to last a few weeks. They also promised to take a dent out if the vehicle (which they eventually did) but they called me down to pick it up without fixing it because of their inability to communicate inside their own organization. I'd like to add the original truck I went to look at was way over priced and had tons of rust issues (northern vehicle) and had two accidents but they kept promising they would never sell an unreliable vehicle... After buying a different truck I'm so very glad I didnt go after the rusted truck as it probably fell apart by now. read more

I have a Chevy Truck and was given the 1st 2 years of maintenance free. When I tried to schedule service with the local Chevy dealer it was all aggravation.A friend mentioned that the Gmc store could do my service for me. I went in and was greeted promptly and told that they would indeed do the services. The waiting area was nice and clean. In less time than promised I was back in my truck and down the road . I highly recommend them for any GM product. read more

I can't speak to the sales side but the collision center here is garbage. Had my car taken here because they work with the insurance provider of the girl who hit my car. I felt like I was getting the run around the entire time and they had my car for over two weeks which honestly wouldn't have been a problem if it weren't for the fact that they kept calling me to push back the pickup date with more bs excuses. One of the supervisors Alonzo was the one I was told would be the one overseeing the repairs and he was the one who usually had the nonsense for me on the phone. All of that wouldn't have even been enough for a review but the fact that he sat there and lied to my face about a crack in my windshield when I picked up the car was enough for me. Customer service could use some work here they all just stare at you from the back when you walk in the office. Last thing I gotta rant on is the attention to detail. The emblems on the back of my car are offset and crooked and when I walked up to the car after getting my key I immediately noticed they didn't even put my Toyota emblem back on. Trash. They only get one star because I can't give them zero. They owe me a star. read more

Kim in service and Brian the mechanic are great!!! They repaired my truck in one day and it was a Saturday at that. And this was after they knew I had been told by the Chevy dealer down the street that I needed a new motor and a new battery for around $8,000. They explained the problem in detail and repaired the motor with no new battery. The final bill was less than the estimate. When I picked up the truck Brian personally came out and spoke to us about the repairs. I have never been treated that well for car repairs and I am now their customer for life. read more

This was my 3rd visit to the Service Department within the last six months and I am COMPLETELY happy with how I was treated and how quickly my vehicle was repaired. Although my visits were for minor issues, my Service Advisor, Kim, treated me as if my issue, and I, were as important as anyone else. During my most recent visit, I thought I'd try out the on-site auto detailing service that's available. WOW! When I picked up my vehicle it looked AMAZING! SO MUCH MORE was done during the detail that what I've paid more for at my usual detailer. I hope not to have to return anytime soon, but I'll at least be back for the detailing service! I give them a 2 star, instead of a 1 or 0, because when I asked for more pictures of the interior (True Car nor their website had pictures of the interior), they sent me a video of the interior and exterior. I live in Puerto Rico and I saw a 2015, 4 door Ram 1500 at a very good price on True Car. When I called Gainesville Buick GMC, a salesman told me that although True Car said that there was a dealer discount, there is no discount. They were not flexible with the price, plus there is a $899 additional fee. I explained that I would be shipping the pick up to Puerto Rico, and that I would have to pay the shipping (around $1500) and the excise taxes (about $2600). I was told that others have been enquiring about that vehicle, so I would have to give at least $500 dollars to hold the vehicle. My brother who lives in Kissimmee was going to drive the two hours to Gainesville to check out the pick up, but now I'm doubtful that I'm going to ask him to drive all that distance. Being a Retired Army Veteran, I thought that I would be treated a little better. I was looking forward to the dealer discount and/or flexibility on the price. I spoke to another dealership for another make pick up (it was only an access cab) and they lowered the price by $1700.00 and told me that they would not charge me the taxes or registration since I was planning to ship the vehicle to Puerto Rico. If they are this deceitful to just get you in the dealership, what does it say about how they do business? The (I'm assuming it was) owner didn't even look at me in the eyes or directly talked to me when he was explaining how it (the scam) works. We had a great experience with Brian Randle when we bought our new GMC Terrain in July of 2014. (Purchase includes your first 4 oil changes and tire rotations by the way!) Dropped vehicle off 830 on a Saturday morning to check out why transmission may be slipping. Was given a total of 3 calls all day ; the first quoting me a grand for spark plugs and ignition coils. Purchased a new Buick at this dealer with an extended warranty that cost thousands of dollars extra on top of the car. Airbag went out, was told it was a defective part, and they would not fix it without charging us approx. $800, despite our very expensive warranty that was still active. Buick is a rip off. We had several issues but the dealership General Manager went out of his way to ensure we were taken care of and all items were resolved. This is 4 in stead of 5 stars because it took several calls and the General Manager's involvement to get resolution - the sales people / others could have done a much better job resolving without senior leaders needing to manage the situation. We LOVE the truck - we have had it since Nov and it is in terrific shape, runs like a dream. Couldn't beat the price either. After getting several issues resolved, we are happy. read more

First time I scheduled my car for a pontiac recall for the airbags. I came in the day of my appointment, was told it would take 2 hours and they would call me when it was done. I didn't get a call, and when I called at the end of the day, I was told that my car hadn't even been moved because they didn't have the part and it would take a WEEK to get the part (even though I scheduled my appointment a week out, and told them what I was coming for). The service manager agreed to drive to drop my car to my house, and said that they would let me know when the part came in. A MONTH went by, no call or email. I called and was told I would get a call back with more info, no call back. So an additional notice of recall came in the mail, and this time I called the help phone number, after talking with this very nice lady, I was connected with a not-so-nice lady who worked at the location I had been to before who told me I had received calls and emails telling me the parts came in (which I hadn't, and I checked). Anyway, I scheduled another appointment, I came in and everyone I interacted with was rude (the first appointment day, a very respectful and courteous member of staff helped me). A couple of hours later I got my car back, but no multi point inspection check which I had signed for. I would never go back and I am trying to sell my car, because if they are the only place in my area who can service my car, I'll get a new one. read more

If I could give no stars I would... I showed up for the 3:00 appointment *******. set and he was unavailable. Then I was shuffled to another sales associate with a less than friendly demeanor. After test driving the vehicle, I wanted to think the decision over. When I said that I wanted to think over the decision, she sucked her teeth and proceeded to ask me why I needed to think it over. I said that I did not want to purchase the first vehicle that I test drove and she proceed to tell me to wait so she can check her inventory. I waited and waited and waited ... and I finally got up and continued to walk out the door... Upon my exit I was greeted with upset salesman/ internet manager (I'm assuming his name was *******) please know that because of him I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A VEHICLE from the establishment. He proceeds to ask me why did I even come in if I wasn't going to purchase the vehicle. His tone and body language was completely confrontational. In so many words he basically told me that I wasted my time and his because I didn't buy the vehicle. I told him I wanted to think over the decision; he then also said that, "I know you aren't really going to think it over". So he basically assumed that I was lying. I felt like he basically tried to bully me into buying the vehicle. He sent out idle threats like "well you know we aren't going to hold this car for you to "think about it" ". I have never been treated so poorly by an establishment before and will NEVER be back. Other things that I also noticed about your establishment, there were 20 employees in the office all were preoccupied with TVs and or talking to each other. The lobby was not inviting and it was too cluttered to even sit down. It felt like a sports pub. Everyone seemed busy doing everything else but helping the costumer. I will never recommend this place even if they were searching for a Buick or a GMC. read more
