Let me first say that we have used another, generally satisfactory, local Heating/AC service for 15 years. However, over the last 6 months the old heat pump condenser unit has been making a random, and then more constant, very loud (and very concerning) fan-related noise that the other company couldn't seem to diagnose or fix, even after multiple service visits and equipment replacements...ultimately reporting that, unfortunately, the parts needed were no longer available. Since a new HVAC system was our only solution, we talked to several heating and air companies in the area, in order to thoroughly compare apples to apples. We have always received the best annual service checkups from Gainesville Mechanical. Technicians have always been on time, called ahead to verify their arrival, and performed to perfection. All their staff, in the office or in the field, are always polite and happy to answer our questions. Today came the time our systems needed replaced. Jeremy Clayton did an excellent job outlining four different proposals and identifying the pros & cons of each along with their costs. All required literature was left with us. The install dates were determined and, as usual, the technicians and new units arrived at 8 am sharp. David & Trent were new to us. I had an AC unit that started blowing hot air instead of cold. I called Estes first. They wanted to replace two parts (parts under warranty) and charge about $800 in labor. I called Carrier/Bryant company who gave me Gainesville Mechanical's # as an authorized dealer. So glad I called them. Ben came out the next morning and spent some quality time working on my unit (and was very patient with me explaining my previous experience and diagnosis). My problem wasn't parts. It was electrical shorts in my wiring. He fixed the issue for just over $300 and demonstrated a tremendous knowledge of my system and HVAC in general. Couldn't be happier. While most businesses were closed in observance of the MLK holiday, I was in pure panic due to a drainage issue that was causing our basement to flood. I expected that it would be at least the next day before anyone could make it out (because it was a holiday), but to my surprise, Gainesville Mechanical dispatched a service call immediately! Within 30 minutes, Lane and Daniel were at the house troubleshooting the issue. In no time at all, they found the problem and quickly fixed it. Had a plumbing problem and Gainesville Mechanical to the rescue! I was expecting a plumber to arrive in the afternoon, so imagine my surprise when I got a call from Charles saying he would be at my house in 30 minutes, first thing in the morning! Charles came in, I told him about the problem, he investigated it, told me what he was going to do and the cost before he did the work. The fix didn't take long about 1 hour or so. My HVAC unit went out on Friday evening. I called this office and got an immediate response. The technician that can out. Mr. Tim Christensen, was on time, courteous and knowledgeable. Lane and John's septic system service call was above and beyond what I had expected. I have had other septic companies come to my house for the same issue but it was never fixed. Lane immediately suspected what the problem was and took action. Throughout the whole service call he kept me informed on what he was doing, and gave me a rough estimate on the cost. He and John were thorough and promised to stop by the house in a few weeks to check the system to be sure the fix he implemented was working as it should. On Saturday, January 13 at 6:30 a.m. my furnace malfunctioned. After Joseph arrived to assess the matter, I decided I needed a new system, and Josh was sent out In the afternoon. He explained everything to me and assisted me in selecting my new system, and also assisted me with financing. Gainesville mechanical's after hours call center was prompt in having a technician call me back. Service wasn't an emergency so an appointment was scheduled with the office. Day of appointment, Sergio my technician called about 30 minutes prior to his scheduled time. Sergio inspected the older system, replaced a couple items and made some recommendations. He answered my questions and even talked about some Jackson emc rebates when I do replace my system.
