This company and family (3rd generation?) have been in the area for many years. Small "mom and pop" business where you matter. My family (parents and now me) have been using them for at least 15 years. They replaced the unit in a house my parents were selling. Replaced the unit in their (not so) new house after a few years. Continue to service the later unit. My personal experience with Gee has also found them trustworthy. They keep nursing along the unit in a rental properly that has a slow leak in it. Never try to upsale me, they show up when they say they will, are usually available for service that day if tenant calls and says unit isn't working right. We called Gee Heating and Air because our A/C stopped working. After their visit, we were told we needed a complete system replacement at a cost of nearly $29,000. No repair options were offered. Wanting a second opinion, we called another company. They diagnosed the issue as a blown fuse, replaced it, and our system was back up and running. What concerns me most is that we are a family with a young child, and at no point was there any attempt to troubleshoot or make a simple repair before recommending an extremely expensive replacement. It felt more like a sales call than a service call. I understand that HVAC systems sometimes do need to be replaced, but homeowners deserve an honest diagnosis and reasonable repair options before being presented with a $29,000 proposal. It's difficult not to question the integrity of a recommendation when a blown fuse is mistaken for a $29,000 replacement. DO NOT USE GEE!! I have previously used them since Joe started in 1979 always great service until NOW ! They sold the company a couple years ago . Horrible business model now by current management !! System went down and not cooling after having checkup with purchased maintenance agreement 3 Months prior , nothing said by technician. Called them to come out and they had nothing open for 4 days ?? Even after being a customer with a maintenance agreement over 30 years ! Had to get someone out because a baby was in the house . Another company found the problem of a faulty part which was under warranty, also found that the filter was not the right size and this impeded air flow causing the system to freeze up and pop leaks. They fixed the problem . I furnished Gee with pictures, videos and written explanations but they WOULD NOT honor the warranty . They stated, "How could they trust what had been done?" They offered to send their technician out to inspect the problem. well when it's fixed there isn't a problem. I did not expect a full refund that included labor but did request one that included bad parts. I was told that this is not how to run a business and they could not do that. After being a business owner for 35 years I do know that you need to ALWAYS do the right thing. It's not always economical but you have to keep your integrity. Well this is their business model .... System breaks down (after the installed new 3 years prior), have to go for days with out it working, you are forced to use other, then they won't reimburse even though you have a 10 year warranty and documentation because another company had to do the work. They lure you in with a $29 tuneup special. The technician came out and instead told me I needed a whole new condenser compressor and air handler basically a whole new system with a charge of $10,000-$18,000. Of course they tell you you qualify for one year free financing and put the pressure on you right then and there to sign. I called comfort air for a second opinion and they determined the only issue was water on a circuit board. They replaced it did a full tuneup. checked the Freon in completed the job for under $700. I absolutely did not need a new system. It makes me sad that this company tries to take advantage of senior citizens. Some advice is always get a second opinion and don't let somebody tell you that if you don't sign with them right now, you won't get the extra discounts. That's just a salesman working hard to get his commission. The icing on the cake is that they charged me $29 and didn't do any cleaning. Go into Google and Yelp reviews and filter it to show the lowest ratings first and you will see that they were told the exact same BS as my parents. They will lure you in with a cheap or free promotional diagnostic and tuneup then hit you with some bad and expensive news about your unit. They don't care whether you're a senior citizen, physically disabled, financially struggling, in poor health, etc...they will still take advantage of you. I rarely write a bad review unless it was genuinely bad and really angered me. But these guys are crooks. I hate this company and their scummy tactics with an intense passion. I don't trust this company at all. And this isn't the first time they tried to take advantage and scam my elderly parents, either. If you don't want to get scammed then I strongly suggest you stay away from this company. My parents' A/C had issues, and they told us that the compressor and coils were completely broken and our unit was too old and they no longer produced parts for it. And the only solutions were to replace the entire unit for $9,600 or repair it through a conversion process for $11,000. I asked if they could just temporarily fix it so it would blow cold air again until we could afford a full replacement, but they said no and insisted those were the only options and there wasn't a way for it to blow cold air without replacing the entire unit. My parents were really struggling in this intense heat and needed some kind of relief. Even if replacing the entire unit wasn't possible right away, the company didn't even offer a temporary fix. Their only solution was to charge nearly $10,000. It felt like they wanted my parents to suffer in the heat just so they'd get desperate enough to pay that much. They tried to push a financing option in case my parents couldn't afford it up front. But I know Gee would make a profit off that through interest, which means my parents would end up paying more in the long run. Thankfully, that wasn't our only option. Another company came out, fixed the issue, and we didn't need to replace the entire unit. Only cost a few hundred dollars. I specifically told them before they arrived to address only the current issue at hand and not to upsell or take advantage of my elderly parents, especially since they'd had a similar experience with Gee in the past. I gave them another chance, thinking it might have just been a bad technician last time, but the same thing happened again. I didn't fully trust what they were telling my parents, so I got a second and third opinion. Both said the unit didn't need to be replaced urgently as Gee said, and we were able to fix the issue for just a few hundred dollars. One of them even told me that they had an employee that previously worked for Her that they have a reputation of lying. They also told me that it LOOKED like someone intentionally loosened the valve that caused our refrigerant to leak. I didn't leave a bad review after the first time they tried to take advantage of my parents because I thought it might have been a fluke, but after this experience, I can't ignore it anymore. Screw people that take advantage of others, especially the elderly and those struggling financially. You need to be real low to take advantage of some elderly people struggling financially. Do not, under any circumstance, use this business. It was a terrible experience from start to finish. It started with a Gee salesperson telling me we would have no issue getting financing approved for a new $12,000 unit. That ended up not being true. Once I was told by another company representative not everyone was approved, the original salesperson ghosted me. We had even paid a $2,000 down payment and were still denied the financing. We ended up paying the full amount (minus the $2,000 already paid) the day after it was installed in May 2024 which probably should have been an indicator we should have been approved for financing. When the new unit was installed they did not install surge protectors. It was never mentioned. When a technician came out in December 2024 for the winter check-up he asked why we did not have them. I told him they were never mentioned. Clearly, having that done when the new unit was installed would have been the time. He looked at my file and said I was right that it was never mentioned. He said one did need to be installed on the outside unit which we had done. No mention was made of putting one in attic unit. During the first frigid spell in Jan. 2025, my wife called me at work at 5:30 a.m. on a Saturday and said the heat wasn't working. I called and was told it would be three days before someone could come out. This was not an option due the extreme cold weather as the temperatures were in the low teens. I had to get someone else. I explained repeatedly the unit was only six months old and the Gee representative told me there was nothing she could do but schedule me for the following Tuesday (this was Saturday). I called Comfort Tech in Winder right afterwards and within an hour he was at our house. He said a power surge had destroyed the blower motor in the attic where no surge protector was. He said he was going to try and find someone open who would have it but with it being a Saturday and with the bad weather he didn't know if he could find one. He said he could set the unit up with another part that would last until he could find the one that had been installed. He said at this time he could not understand why a surge protector was not installed. He said he was 95% sure if it had been this would not have happened. It ended up taking about a month to get the correct part. The first one was damaged while being shipped. When the owner of Comfort Tech came to install the part he said many elements of the new unit had not been set up right. He fixed all the issues and charged us a relatively small amount. He said he could not charge us thousands of dollars simply because the system was not installed correctly. Then when I called Gee to speak to someone about getting reimbursed for what I paid the other company I was told Robert was who I needed to talk to. During his initial call he said someone should have come out that day because the unit was still under warranty. He said I would be reimbursed for what I had to pay to get it fixed. I emailed him all invoices for repair work. He basically ghosted me after that, not returning calls or emails. Later he tried to say I had his direct number which was not true. More time goes by and Robert will not return my calls about why the entire refund had not been issued. That is when I was directed to Yazmin who said Robert did not have the authority to tell me that. I told her that was not my problem. He had promised the refund and I fully expected to receive it. I told her I wanted to speak to whoever his supervisor was. She said she would send that message and I should hear back no later than a week. Personally, that was way too long to wait. I emailed her again on Thursday of this week with no response. I called again and told the representative I wanted a return call that day. It did not happen. I emailed Yazmin again and I believe that is when she got the owner involved. From the beginning I feel my family and I were treated very poorly. Representatives of this company also have a habit of ghosting paying customers. I can't imagine I have been the only one. It seems they had their money and could care less about what a customer was dealing with. In the end, there was some positive. We now have a company that is 100 percent honest and reliable. Stay the heck away from Gee Heating and Air My Moms unit which is only a year or so old started leaking water into her finished basement. Water freakin everywhere. She has a maintenance plan with them too. Tech came out and said it was totally their fault and he'd have someone come out to assess the damage, in the meantime he told my nearly 80yr mom with two replaced knees to go down the stairs and check the unit every 5 hours. That was 7/28. She heard nothing for over a week after several calls. I called on that Sat and was told I'd get a call back...nope. I called on 8/6 and was very stern. Spoke with a lady and was on hold for probably 20min. For some reason a manager doesn't have time for customers, but my call seemed to have prompted a quickly scheduled service call. Lady said "We forgot to send out an email" Yeah right, betting the manager dodged me and scheduled it ninja style. Told them if I didn't get a call by the end of the week from a manager I was gonna start writing reviews. So here I am. As many know, with things like this with water, you have to mitigate it immediately. She already has black mold on the baseboards which I let Gee know and it just seemed to not matter at all. I've seen bad customer support but this takes the cake. Gee sent out a third party contractor on 8/7. While he said he can replace the damaged dry wall, he does not do floors. What Gee should have done is get a mitigation company there within 24hrs with dehumidifiers and determine moisture content and asses. That way there would not have been any black mold at all. The technicians are friendly but they don't really know what they are doing. I initially called telling them I had a bad compressor. The tech said no, it is a refrigerant leak. They scheduled a second visit and the tech spent 4.5 hours at my home and charged me for a leak test, and to refill the refrigerant. After I paid, he said it was a compressor issue. DUH. My compressor was under warranty and without my knowledge or consent, GEE ordered the new compressor and scheduled a visit to my home. They then told me it will cost $3k for the replacement. Our home had an ac issue, and we were referred by a family member to Gee since they use them for a commercial application. Of course the issue occurred later in the evening, because that's when issues happen, right? We were able to get a same day appointment, which was great. Our technician even showed up early. He ran some diagnostics on what the issue might be, and I started feeling uneasy. He began talking about replacing some of the larger key components of the unit, instead of searching for an answer at the basic level. He started throwing out prices ranging from $600, $1,000, and as high as $5,000+. I was VERY weary at this point. He then conducted a test on the system that does not give accurate numbers if the system isn't working (which it wasn't). He also stated that he wanted to "double check with another technician" about what to do. During this time, he offered to check the house furnace. At this point it really felt like the technician was just trying to sell us services instead of actually finding the issue. After his phone call, things got really strange. He came back with an answer in the $600 repair range, and stated "this might not work, and we'll have to go up from there". Basically, he would attempt an expensive repair, not knowing it was the issue, and we would have to pay more when it did t work. I was really in disbelief, and decided to just sweat it out overnight. I paid the $79.99 service fee, and that was that. In the morning, after consulting a family member familiar with HVAC work, I purchased a part from a local distributor in Gainesville for $13.87. I spent a total of 30-45 minutes replacing the part with a screwdriver, and fixed the issue... I am very disappointed in Gee HVAC, and can not recommend them to anyone. We have informed the family member that referred them originally. From the start, it felt like I was being sold parts and services I didn't need, and the prices were astronomical. Take time to make sure you are being sold the parts and services you ACTUALLY need if you decide to use this company for whatever reason. *UPDATE* I called the company the day after the visit to speak to the service manager. They have yet to return a call which was over a week ago. So the business response to this review saying "please contact us directly" is just to make it look like they care. I had a water heated installed by Gee Heat and Air on 3/18/24 and have had to call 3 times, and text 3 times to get an invoice. The installer could not get her device to work. The quality of my replaced HVAC is great, and it is not manufactured by Gee's. Installation, was long, and the technicians damaged walls, doorframes, and my attic entrance. Today they were to return to repair the damage between 8am and10am. Its now 4:41pm...no calls no shows. The first Friday they were to come to install my HVAC, again 8-10am, I waited until 1:30pm, no call, no show. I called them and rescheduled for the next Friday, again a 8-10am appointment. That 2nd Friday they did call twice to let me know of delays, finally showing up at 1:40 pm, with conflicting reasons for being late. The HVAC was installed that afternoon, and the damage to my home done then, and today, Friday #4, again, no show no call to fix damages. Needless to say, I will not be using Gee's again. read more

Purchased a brand new top of the line system with extended warranty. Air not working on Wednesday 7/31, Technician came Thursday 8/1, said it was compressor. Technician came Friday 8/2 to confirm compressor because under warranty, says not compressor but board in system inside. Says will order part and will be back Monday or Tuesday. Called Monday 8/5 twice to check status of part, was told will call back, no call back received. Called Tuesday 8/6 and told part was just ordered and will be 3-5 days for shipping. Paid $$$$ to get ZERO service. Lack of air is causing me migraines and breathing issues which is why we paid $$$$ for top of the line system and extended warranty. read more

On 7/5/23 I contacted Gee A&C because my AC wasn't cooling properly. They came out the same day. That's the good part. They replaced a capacitor on one of my units. Total cost $423. I fortunately had a $100 coupon. The part costs under $23 so I was billed $400 for 40 minutes of work. I was unable to get an adequate explanation as to the cost for service. Thank goodness I had the $100 coupon! I likely won't use them again. Great responsiveness and service, but you pay a hefty price for it. read more

I can't say enough good things about this company. The AC unit for the main level of our house failed several weeks ago. We live in N Georgia so it was still very hot and humid. We played the open and close windows deal while I began looking for a suitable HVAC company. There are good and bad reviews on everyone but after much research I reached out to Gee. I filled out all of my info and needs on line and heard back immediately. They were ready to come out the next day but I still needed to do a little more research. They sent me three estimates (choices) that they felt were suitable for my home. Next step was the in home visit. Andrew came out and wanted me by his side as he checked out my system and gave me the good, the bad, and the ugly. After his very thorough examination we sat down he Andrew methodically went over all of my options. There was absolutely zero hard sell. He sent me estimates for three choices that were actually different and a little less expensive that the "sight unseen" estimates. We made a choice and they came out on Saturday to install a complete new AC-Heat pump system. Pete and Jose came out to the house to do the install. They were very friendly and all business. 4 hours in and out and cleaned up everything including removing the old units. They left me the warranty info and the instructions for everything. The tech was nice & said 2 parts of furnace needed replacing but it was an old system and he needed his supervisor to come out and give him his advice. Turns out it was really for a sales pitch. I did not appreciate this lack of openness. I knew my system was old and agreed a new HVAC made more sense than fixing the old. As a low income senior, I requested the lowest cost unit possible. I was quoted $9,400 for a 2.5 ton,14.3 seer unit. Since that is 70% of my annual income, I requested the lowest cost possible . $8,430 was given as lowest possible price. Still high for me but the promise of heat the next day, a Fri., vs. a weekend of being cold had me agree. The next business day, I saw Gee online stating how important it was to learn about cost from them online! Guess what! The cost for my exact unit was NOT $9,400 as their salesman lied to me! Their guaranteed price for that unit installed is $7,725. That's with no senior discount! Don,'t trust what this company tells you! Taking advantage of the elderly is despicable! Having had breathing issues and needing immediate remediation, I called Gee based on friends' recommendations and reviews online. They came within a short while, corrected issues with both furnaces and installed air filtration and dehumidifiers. Within a matter of days, I could smell clean air in my home, much like bringing in laundry from outside line drying. If you ever have service done by this company beware. I had service done like 3 years ago maybe and all of a sudden I am owed a free service. I haven't called you in years. I did not continue to do service with your company. You will be called and sent text messages no matter how many times you ask them to stop. If you ask to be removed from their calling list just be ready. The calls and text messages come at all times and hours of the day. They come without being requested. I have asked every caller and every person (computer) behind the message to get me in touch with the owner. They either hang up or some have even taken a message with no return call. I am so fed up with this company and their harassment day in and day out. If the owner doesn't return my call soon I will be looking into harassment laws and what my options are. My heat pump went out, so I called GEE Heating & Air. While I was pleasantly surprised by the prompt service call and diagnosis, I was ABSOLUTELY NOT HAPPY when they quoted $470 for a simple capacitor that needed to be replaced. In fairness, I am not certain that the technician may have intended that price to have included the $58 service call (introductory rate), but I asked specifically for the cost of the part. (Installation is simple and requires less than 10 minutes to complete.) I found the replacement part online for about $20. I purchased one at Gainesville Appliance Parts for $15 and installed it myself. (GAP even tested the capacitor for me) So $15 vs. $470! That's 31 times my cost! I will never again do business with GEE Heating & Air! read more

I saw positive recommendations about this company and had them replace one of two HVAC systems. Both were old and needed replacement-just tried for one to see the quality of the work. The replacement price was fair and the work well done. The contract was negotiated to include a 1 year service agreement (2 visits for tuning) and 2 filter replacements. When I called for the first maintenance visit, I gave the size of the filters (non-standard AprilAir) and tried to ensure the tech brought them. The appointment day came, the tech called, and I asked again for them to bring the filter. They didn't have them on the truck, so I said don't come without them. The office called and said I would have to pay for these filters. I explained the written contract stated inclusion of the 2 filters. They could not find the contract and asked for a copy - of their contract. A couple of weeks later, I tried again, stated the filter size again. The tech shows up on time, with the wrong size filters and stated I still had to pay for them. I provided a copy of the contract, wrote the filter size on the copy. Soon I got a text asking to send a photo of a filter as they didn't know what the size was (after 3-4 times). So no tune-ups and no filters to date. I was planning to have them do the 2nd HVAC replacement but the office/management is so disorganized, I may need to find another company. I don't hold out any hopes they will honor their contract with me. read more

So I had someone come out from Gee to give me an estimate on replacing two systems. When the gentleman arrives I showed him where my systems were and made it clear that I wanted to replace them with an 18 sear or higher. He spent all of 10 minutes looking at my system and said that he would send me over an estimate later on that day (Wed June 15.) I called back on Friday to ask where the estimate was... So I could compare with the other companies that have given me estimates. I was told that they did not have my email on file. (should have been something that the gentleman asked for while getting the information for my estimate you would think. but I guess the guy was so worried about getting out of my house as fast as he could he forgot to) so I gave the lady my email address and reiterated to her that I wanted estimates for 18 seer and up only. She reassured me that she would take care of it and I would be getting my estimates promptly. Today is Tuesday, June 21 and I have just got off the phone after asking again why I have not received any estimates. She told me that she did not have my email on file. When I told her that I gave it to her last week she all of a sudden found it. She promptly Sent over the estimates that they had created for me. Unfortunately the premium plus was a 16 seer the premium was a 16 seer the Basic was a 16 seer except for the economy was a 14 seer (they cannot even sell this one after January 1, 2023 due to new regulations) So I just received a phone call from Gee responding to my email asking why I received quotes for 16 and 14 Seer instead of the 18 Seer that I requested. The guy that was on the phone with me wanted to argue about what the email said. I open the email back up and I read the titles to every single one of the estimates which the highest rated one was a 16 seer and the lowest was the 14 seer. The guy continue to argue with me saying that the premium is not a 16 seer it's actually an 18 seer just marked incorrectly... Wow seriously this is the kind of work that you can expect from Gee? Well it's a good thing that I had contacted five additional companies for estimates. If Gee Is not interested in making sales... They're going about it the right way, so before you waste your time trying to get estimates from this company you may want to go ahead and contact a few others. read more

I made my appointment online with Gee and received a confirmation. Our tech called when he was on his way. He was friendly and professional. He found our problem, a faulty capacitor, which he had on his truck. He also checked to see if it was still under warranty. It was and we received $100 off. Yes! Gee hvac saved the day. I wake up a Friday in July and the house is 81 degrees inside. By lunch I'm good to go. I never heard of Gee until the local company turned me down and was very rude. I called Gee and they have the best customer service I've ever experienced. Lydia was so nice and 2 seconds after placing the service call I receive a confirmation text. A little later I get a text with not only a picture and background profile of the tech coming but a link to track his location and arrival time. Less than 3 hours from the initial call the tech arrives and I have AC again for the weekend. 100 thumbs up ! read more

Great company and has definitely helped us out in our time of need. 24/7 live operator I believe. When they couldn't fix the a/c in time for a neighborhood event they brought in portable a/c units. They also Installed an HVAC unit in my moms rental house. Price was fair and they were very patient with my mom. It could have gone smoother as we had to call back for the tenants several times to get the unit to start cooling after installation. However, no problems since. Sadly, just found out they don't do plumbing although their name came up when I Yelped plumbers. Overall very good value for your money spent! read more

This company just gives aways your number and email to anyone who works there to spam you like crazy. I have a years worth of call records , text messages , and emails about if I'm interested in a tune up. The only service I HAVE EVER received was just putting a new GAS line to a part of our home. Nothing with our AC unit. I have records of asking to remove me from the call list and to STOP texting and it still happens. It's ridiculous. I've counted 4-5 calls where I speak to a different person and I specifically say STOP CALLING. REMOVE ME. and yet it happens again within weeks. And the last person I spoke to said "sorry but I can only remove you from my call list, everyone in the company has their own and will continue to call and reach out" so WHO KNOWS WHO ELSE HAS MY NUMBER AND WILL KEEP HARASSING ME. This is insane how I can't just text STOP to all these employees reaching out (and never reply back with a response) and when I actually pick up calls from Gee heating and air and ask to be removed it still happens. Here's a message to the marketing team.... When someone's isn't interested please stop bothering them. read more

We had a bit of en emergency on a very hot day at around 4:30 pm. Caleb came out and had our air working again in about 30 minutes. These guys are absolutely wonderful. Also, Hannah who mans the phones is also wonderful. Thank you again for a job well done. read more

My AC system had not been working for almost 2 weeks while I was fighting with American Home Shield to try to get it repaired. AHS told me they could not fix it and stiffed me on my claim. I called Gee and they came out the next day (a Friday) and installed a new system on Monday morning. These guys were great and fast. THANK YOU! read more
