I just wanted to give a huge shout out to Comfort Control Heating and Air. I have been using them for a while now and felt I needed to point out a few above and beyond services I have experienced. First, the technicians are always so nice, very knowledgeable and never make me feel like they are trying to sell me a service or equipment I don't really need. I have been a Realtor for almost 15 years and have dealt with many vendors in the HVAC industry. Some have been good, some have been not so good. With Comfort Control, I have had techs here late at night, on weekends (Sunday too) and have never had to wait long for service. I always feel like they are honest and do what needs to be done at a fair price. That is very important to me. Second, I have referred them to a few of my clients and I have never had any of them express anything except complete satisfaction. Definitely not the norm but a satisfying reaction for me since I sent them:-) I had a client who had her air stop working in one of the hottest days of the year. She was watching her 10 week old grandson and was panicked. She texted me and I gave her their number. Later that day she called me to thank me for the referral and they got someone out there pretty quickly who was able to fix the problem at a reasonable cost (on a weekend) She continues to use them when needed and for maintenance. Time and time again I get thank you messages from people and clients who I have sent to them. They meet with several companies and end up truly feel most comfortable with them. So with that kind of track record and my personal positive experiences, I felt the need to share. So many people are willing to take the time to write bad reviews about companies. Ricky was very timely so that was great. I was 99% sure my water heater was rusting out and he confirmed it. However for the reasons I am using someone else: 1. $2400 for the same 50 gallon heater I have BUT: 2. That's the only price offered for a commercial unit. I asked what I had and he said it was a standard unit, which I assumed 3. I asked for a breakdown of costs and he called in and they would not provide that. I've never had any company in any line of work not provide a breakdown. It is an easy way to hide extra profit. I'm absolutely fine with a business choosing how they provide and explain their services, but certain decisions lead to no sale and no referrals. I am replacing my Rheem unit with basically the same unit only newer for less than half of what I would have paid them for what I needed, not what they offered. I'm sure they are a fine company but they never offered me what I really needed. read more

Why would I choose to pay ~$1400 for "repair" when a replacement for the entire air handler with labor and warranties on both parts and labor costs ~$1500. That makes no sense to choose the sealant when the replacement is $100 more I am happy to have a professional discussion, but I will not continue to converse on this forum. read more

By far the best customer service of any hvac company i've ever worked with before. They came out to my house and fixed my ac at a great price and they came out the same day. Everywhere else I called said they couldn't come for day but comfort control came out the same day and didn't charge an emergency fee. My wife and kids are thankful too because they were disgusted with how hot it was in the house when we got home. They were transparent and honest. If I could give more stars I would. My wife and I just moved to the area and were experiencing the joys of a house with little to no insulation in the middle of a Georgia summer. Our second floor felt like an oven. I reached out to Comfort Control for an estimate, and the owner, Tom, reached back out almost immediately. Within days, Tom and Paul were at my house providing much needed relief. They offered the best price, did absolutely top-quality work, and their customer service is something you won't find often these days. Paul actually pulled my garbage cans up from the curb before he and Tom left because he saw the garbage truck pass. Think about that for a moment. Do you know ANYONE that cares about their customers that much? I don't know that Tom is always out in the field, but always ask for Tom and Paul. They will make sure you're taken care of. My second review. Have had nothing but trouble with this unit put in a home I own. They even came out and serviced this and now it has to be replaced. I had to have duct work replaced before and when I complained on my last review they called and said he would compensate me for my expense...they never did. Completely unsatisfied with the service provided. Our HVAC started blowing hot air about 6 weeks ago. Comfort Control was the first company available to take a look. We were told it was a "contactor". We paid them over $600 to replace it. 3 weeks later, the HVAC started blowing hot air again. A different technician came out and said our compressor died and we should replace the system because it's a heat pump. We agreed. $6,000 and another 3 weeks later, it happens again!!! This time we are told it's our zone board because they don't replace that with the HVAC. It will cost another $913 AFTER a discount. What??? I will be speaking with the manager. Overcharging and awful service. I don't recommend them. Update: I spoke with a manager (not Tom listed below) and the manager replaced the zone board at no charge. Very appreciative of his service to correct the issue. Tom, your comment below wasn't necessary. If you looked at my account before commenting, then you would see it was resolved. Stating "As you know" comes off as rude. The bigger issue here was that I kept being told different stories on what was wrong with my system and no one ever told me the zone board was not being replaced. Moving on, the job is done and I appreciate what the manager did. No other problems with our HVAC since. I've increased my personal rating to 3 stars from the 1 I originally gave. read more

We had to replace our HVAC last week, as it was WAY overdue and the unit was original to the house (1995!). First off, Jeff was incredibly helpful from the quoting end of the experience. He walked the house with us and discussed the ducts and air flow. We even learned a few things we didn't know about our vents! He patiently guide us through the financing questions and application process. The installation was all done in one day and the guys who performed the install were professional, courteous, and hard working! I reviewed in 2014 with my experience and yesterday my other HVAC unit began freezing up so I call Comfort Control again. The tech was very nice, young but professional and he gets an "A". The problem is they want to lump sum a price to you, with no breakdown, and the price is extreme. They asked for $2467.00 to replace the condensing coils. No way! Since I knew they were out there on price, and the weather was fairly cool, I got several other prices and saved $$$ hundreds of dollars, over 30%. I have to mark them off my list of vendors. Disappointing The other thing I learn is they push Rheem and I am not a fan of that manufacture, just my opinion. read more

Moderately pleased with 2nd year HVAC cooling check up. Technician took picture of rusting coil. This is a new Lennox HVAC system, installed by Comfort Control July 2015. Last year all coolant had leaked out, had to be drained and reloaded after soldering. Now this 2nd year technician took picture of coil corrosion. Appears I have bought a defective system. The technician today suggested another visit when warmer to check for coolant levels. All of the employees of Comfort Control are nice folks. It is judt a bit alarming, I have paid over 4,500 for new system, and 157.00 today to renew annual service and, now told I have premature corrosion on coil. read more

Beware ! We needed a minor furnace repair (ignitor replacement) which we have had on multiple furnaces in multiple homes). Comfort Control Came out while my wife was home and I was not. They opened up some aluminum duct work and showed her some oxidization and dust in it. They the tried to sell her a new furnace. Our house was 14 years old at the time...... On the eve of the coldest night in Atlanta this fall (2014) the blower fan in our furnace went out. After doing research and finding their high ratings on Yelp, I contacted them and left my information. Within 20 minutes I received a call from Josh, who was very helpful and agreed to be at our house the next morning at 6:30 AM. He arrived promptly and had the fan replaced in less than an hour. I was not there as I had to travel for business but my wife said that he was a very nice young man and did a great job. read more

We had our annual heating maintenance done on 11/8/2021. The following morning, we noted that we were not getting heat from one of our two units. It was blowing, but not heating. When I called the office to have someone come back to check it, I was told that other people were waiting also, and it would be the end of the week before anyone could come. When a different technician came, he diagnosed a worn part that was not sending gas through the line. He told us that the part was available in the warehouse and that he had ordered it. We paid for the part at that time (over $500). It has been 2 weeks, and all of our calls go unreturned. We have started calling daily in hopes of reaching someone who can give us an update, but so far, no one has called back. We have been customers for over 10 years, have an maintenance contract, and have always been very happy with the service. This is unacceptable, as it feels like they do not appreciate our business. We have been cold for 3 weeks, and they do not seem to care - they got the money and we are no longer important. The review says I am in San Francisco. I am actually in Snellville. read more

Always have a feeling I am being overcharged. Always there is an upselling attempt. Maybe it is all legitimate but I never got to a trust position with them. Also they charged me $50 more (disclosed) because I live in Dunwoody which while in their service area is apparently a long drive from their headquarters. On Thursday (07/22) I had Comfort Control out to install a new 2-speed Ameena furnace. I will admit that I did get a great price - but this was mainly due to the fact that they did not want to lose my business to Casteel (whom I also had out to give me a quote). The install was pretty quick (about 3.5 hours). Problem came when after cleanup and paying the invoice, I went up to the attic to inspect the work. Bottom line....the technician (Gavin) was going to leave my old unit up there. When I asked him - flat out - "Hey, you're taking this [unit] aren't you"?. He replied "I don't have the manpower to do it. I was not pleased (to say the least). The problem here is that I had Jeff Schmitt (General Manager) come out on Monday (07/12). I explained to Jeff how the old unit was installed back in 2007. He noted that this old unit was much larger than the one they're replacing it with. In my opinion, management (Jeff) did not inform, nor give Gavin the required tools and/or manpower for the job! Gavin felt he had no choice but to leave the old unit behind. After speaking with Gavin further, he agreed to dismantle the old unit. But I feel as though the left hand at Comfort Control doesn't know what the right hand is doing. After having the General Manager out to my home (because he didn't want to lose my business to Casteel); I was pretty flabbergasted (to tell you the truth) that they simply were going to leave my old unit behind [had I not pressed my case]. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They absolutely screwed my mother over. Came in and changed a $100 part and charged her $657 dollars for 30 minutes worth of work. The unit stopped working AGAIN the next day. Called a local small business and had the unit fixed completely for $105.00. The tech beat around the bush with pricing and withheld information so that when the job was "done" he could hit us with a ridiculous number that we had no choice in paying. You should be ashamed of yourselves for screwing people over during a worldwide pandemic. read more

The company has installed two systems for me, a main floor unit 10 years ago and an upstairs unit five years ago. Until the last few years I thought this company provided top notch service but had noticed a drop in the quality of the service in recent years and felt they were more interested in selling additional products then in actually servicing the equipment. Because they had installed the equipment I continued to use them when necessary. On July 6 they came to service the main floor unit which was not properly cooling. They added refrigerant, installed a hard start kit ($288) and Pole electrical switch ($264). I also purchased a service agreement as I was told this would reduce the cost of the service and if they needed to come back would reduce the cost of the service, it was possible I would need to replace the coils in the future. Total cost of the visit was $1,013. The service technician, at the time, seemed to know what he was doing. After the service the AC unit still could not keep the house properly cooled. In filing the bill for service I looked back at recent bills for this unit and noticed they had done a tune up of the unit in 11/5/2019 while doing some service on the furnace; also on 5/2018 they had installed the same hard start kit as they did on in July 2020 and also a pole switch as well. I called the company on July 20th and asked to speak to the service manager, the owner or someone who answer a few questions. I was told no one was in but they would leave messages for the service manager and owner. I called back again on Weds and spoke to another person requesting the same thing, again no one was in but they would pass the message on. Later in the week I texted them and explained I had been a customer for 10 years and asked again for them to contact me. I gave them my home and cell numbers. I was calling not only to ask some questions concerning my unit but also wanted to explore my options on replacing the compressor or replacing the unit and since air conditioners are now so much more efficient than my 10 year old unit had just about decided to replace it I have never heard back from them and on July 30th I purchased a new air conditioning unit from another company and will not use Comfort Control again. I am in the process of selling our home and the buyers inspector requested a check of the furnace. The furnace repair person gave me a repair estimate of over $700. After questioning the repair person about the items they allege needed to be repaired, I was later told that the items were recommended and that the furnace was in good working order. The invoice also include in the invoice that the current furnace was not-up to code. Once questioned if the furnace that was installed 12 years ago was required to upgrade to the current code , no clear answer( in my opinion)was provided by custom air. read more

I called due to AC not cooling. My system is 7 yrs old. The tech came out and told me I had a small leak, low by 4lbs on freon, and my coils were rusted out. I had three options. Fill with freon and leak sealer and see how long it will last, replace the "rusted coils", or replace the entire system to the new 410 system. My cheapest option was to fill and seal at over $500. But he stated the best option was to replace the system. Really. Replace a 7 yr old system. I politely declined and paid the $89 trip fee. Called another vendor that replaced a leaking valve on the exterior unit, added freon, and the system is working great. On top of that he showed me my coils and there was no rust at all. The frustrating thing is I would happily pay for a service that corrected a problem I was having but to have someone purposly give you false information in order to pad their bill is unacceptable. The next day both of my neighbor's units went down. He asked me for a referral. Being dishonest does not pay in the long run. read more

I scheduled an appointment for a technician to come remove my unit on a vacant building for security purposes. I was told the charge would be $300 which I thought was a bit steep but willing to pay it (cheaper than a new AC unit). They called back stating that other customers were more important (their A/C was broken) and they couldn't do it when agreed. I own and lease several buildings in the area and should've just called my normal AC company. Lesson learned. read more

Terrible service. Over-charged for freon refill. Received several quotes for freon that were about half the price. They put in 3 lbs of freon but could not find leak. Problem reoccured in 5 weeks. They said there would be another service call charge and charge to repair leak and freon recharge "again." I got the leak fixed and freon recharge at a reasonable price with someone else. read more

Ta Kim was my service tech and he was professional and courteous - even answered numerous questions that I had and helped with another electrical issue I had. He knows his stuff only recommended what was absolutely necessary but also informs of you longer term recommendations for consideration.
