My outside A/C unit began humming last evening. I called H&M at 11:45 last night and left a Voicemail message. I received a call at 7:38 this morning from Brent. He advised they could have Shane out here by 9:00 am to check it out. Shane arrived punctual around 9:00 am By 9:30 we were back in business! I had a hose-bib shut-off valve that was hard to open and close. This is the valve used to shut-off water in the hose-bib line to protect from freezing. I wanted to get the valve replaced before the winter so I called H&M. I dealt with H&M several yrs back and was expecting a similar experience. Just like yrs back, H&M arrived on-time, they listened to my concerns, and what the kind of repairs I was open to. Knowing that I don't know plumbing, I asked the plumber what would he do. He suggested disassembling / cleaning the valve. I agreed and expressed that I understood the valve may be too far gone to save. H&M cleaned, reinstalled, and tested the valve; and it worked perfectly. I continue to be very pleased with the outcome. H&M is two-for-two in my book. Four weeks after moving into our new home, we noticed a reduction in our hot water pressure. We looked on Yelp for a local plumber and saw H&M had excellent reviews. Harry came out the day we called. Great in an emergency! I came home to find water gushing out of the garage due to our 10-year-old water heater finally having gone bad. Harry, the owner, answered my call himself, walked me through shutting off the tank, and promised me someone would be out in an hour. He gave me quotes over the phone for a couple of options on replacement water heaters. Joe arrived on time and I paid what I was quoted. Harry and Joe were both professional and courteous. Woke up and it was freezing in the house. I left a message at H and M that I had no heat , and of course, it was the coldest morning of the year. They called back within an hour and said he had two other calls but should get there around 11am. About 1045, I received a call from Brent at H and M saying he is on his way and should be there in about 30 minutes. He came in, figured out what was wrong, had to go pick up the part, and everything was working again by 2pm. It seemed like a reasonable amount of money to pay for the part and the services. I recently inherited my mothers house. I'm not familiar with the septic system and one of the toilets was clogged. I called H&M the day after Thanksgiving and received a prompt return call from the owner himself! Harry (the H in H&M) came out to inspect the problem and try to figure out what was wrong. I have never had such a great experience with a plumber! Harry was patient and he explained exactly how septic systems work and he also fixed my toilet that was clogged. He was very straightforward and did not try to talk me into any services or items that I did not need. He took his time inspecting any potential plumbing issues around my house and even looked at the gas line for my grill for me! If I ever have the need for a plumber in the future I will definitely call H&M!! read more

These are guys are, in one word, HONEST. We had an unnamed company perform its semi-annual inspection earlier this week and they said we had a freon leak in our upstairs unit. Last year, the unnamed company recommended we add an intake vent to our upstairs ceiling and they said we needed three. We already had three. So, my antenna went up with this most recent visit (two warnings) and I called H&M to get a second opinion. We had NO freon leak; and not only that, they pointed out that in order to check for a freon leak you have to cut the seal around the top of the unit. The previous contractor had not cut the seal, so obviously, they never checked for a leak. These guys are simply honest and I appreciate them more than words can express. I will be using H&M from now on. read more

I have used H&M Services for many years for my HVAC and plumbing needs. In fact, they have been keeping my 20+ year old furnace running long past its normal life expectancy. So when my furnace started acting up again this year, of course, I called H&M. After coming out and diagnosing the problem, Brent found my furnace to be irreparably damaged this time and recommended replacement. He then took the time to explain my options and, at my request, gave me a written quote before he left. And he didn't even charge me for the diagnostic visit! Of course I assumed it was a fair price because I know H&M to be a reputable company from previous experience. But I still took the time to do some research and get other quotes, just in case. The H&M quote was very fair and reasonable. So a few days later, I called back and scheduled installation. The crew showed up on time, replaced the unit, cleaned up and left within half a day. The total cost was exactly what was quoted with no surprises. I've had the new unit in for a few weeks now and it works great. I highly recommend H&M Services for all of your HVAC and plumbing needs. read more

I used H&M Services to fix a burst pipe in my garage during the "Polar Vortex" that hit the south. Joe was my technician. He found the problem and quickly fixed it. He wrapped extra pipe insulation (that I had on hand) around the fixed area to provide some additional insulation. He also took the time to locate the whole house water shut-off and the shut-offs to the two outside spigots (since I had just moved into the house and did not know where they were), and gave me a lesson on proper water turn-off procedures in order to help prevent this problem in the future. TERRIBLE experience with H&M Services H&M Services really let us down! We have had our house for about 20 yrs and of course, it's been long enough, the dryer vent has become clogged. Then we realized that it is the flimsy accordion style vent tube and decided to get the smooth hard vent installed. Called H&M either Thu or Fri, now 2 weeks ago. They said they would be out to give us a quote Tues. Then they called Tues to tell us they needed to reschedule for Thurs. My mother-in-law asked if they would be ready to do the job since we can't use our dryer until the job is done. The representative said they would be ready to the whole project on Thurs. So they came out LAST WEEK, gave us a QUOTE for $850 and told us they would be here TODAY at 9am to do the job. Thats a week later. They wrote on the quote that they would replace the vent with 4inch hard pipe, cut the dry wall, and that would not include fixing the drywall. Today they called to say they were running late. Would be here between 11am - 1pm. Showed up without calling at 1:20pm. Then DECIDED that they would need to run the vent on the outside of the wall, all along the laundry room and then out the ceiling, and to the side of the house. It's now been 2 weeks waiting on H&M Services, without use of our dryer, and we are back to square one. Hopefully we'll be able to find a competent company this time. We have a rental property in Cumming that was having AC problems. Brent came out to rerun some duct work and installed a new ac unit (ours was VERY old and on its last leg). He is incredibly knowledgeable, honest, and has done everything in his power to save us money. While he was there, our tenant complained of a very loud noise and strange water pressures changing in the master bath and shower when the water was turned on in the sink (very strange). It made a sound as if a jet plane was taking off. He tested the psi level and it was really high. He suggested what needed to be done with adjusting the psi level, plus parts needing to be replaced (pressure regulator). Brent called his father on the plumbing side of the business that afternoon and Harry was out to our home the next morning and had it fixed in no time at a reasonable price. We've used other companies in the past for our rental home and our primary home, but we will be using H & M Heating, AC, and plumbing from now on! These guys are so professional, honest, and don't rob you for every penny. Thank you for fixing our issues with our AC and plumbing. We will be using your company from now on. read more

On Memorial Day weekend, our home A/C stopped working with really high temp heat out!! Called H&M and Brent came out mid morning on the Sunday before Memorial Day and fixed us up! Very professional and knowledgeable about the issue. Even fixed a problem with our hot water heater while he was here. Great service and prices were very good. Don't hesitate to call them!
