I was deeply insulted with my first visit. I was expecting to get some pain relief and some sort of intervention. Instead, I showed up, was place in a room to watch a 45 minute video on my condition. I had been through orthopedic interventions already and also did my own homework on my condition, so most of the video I already knew. I was ready for pain relief and was deeply upset. After the video, I was given a book to help with my condition. I thought that was cool and went home. Literally, what little invention I had during this hour+ visit included an evaluation of my walking gait, a couple of pokes "does this hurt?" and a quick adjustment the included pulling on my legs. No tools used etc. Fast forward to today. To watch a long outdated video, be "given" a book and a couple pulls on the leg I was billed $226.00 (including $25 for the book that was "given" to me. No one said I would be billed for that.) I am not happy with my first experience. If anything I feel insulted. While I watched a video, she was just racking up the dollars. She may be an expert in her field, but billing practices need to be addressed. I was charged less for my actual injection from a medical doctor that DID relieve pain for a bit. read more

Appointment times may take a little longer compared to other clinics, but this is because each the physical therapist at Gainesville Physical Therapy spends time with every patient. So I've never had to have physical therapy but when I had concerns the staff here was so supportive and gave me honest advice instead of just trying to lure me in for my business. They were so awesome that I am inclined to write a review even though I do not have to use them for PT! I am also super apprehensive about going to doctors for help especially when so many staff members at the desk etc make you feel like you're wasting their time and that you're an annoyance. I had a wonderful experience with everyone at Gainesville Physical Therapy and would encourage anyone who only has QUESTIONS to go to them because they will treat you the same as their patients who have been going there for years. read more

When I was having SI problems, I found a book written by the owner of this clinic. I purchased it from Amazon. It was basically a pitch to come to her clinic and buy her "realignment" tool (which apparently doesn't work because her clinic doesn't even sell it anymore). I called for a consultation and was charged $50 before I even spoke to anyone. During my half hour "consult" I was put on hold twice and was told "well, we won't really know anything unless you come into our clinic." I set an appointment contingent upon whether my insurance would be accepted. The person handling my appointment was scatterbrained and apparently dealing with personal crises. She was far less than professional when providing me information relative to my visit. When they hadn't called me back on the Friday before my Monday apppointment, I called to cancel. They were NOT gracious. They said I had not canceled in enough time according to their policy (which they had conveniently not shared with me -- but they said I should have known since it is on their website, which I had not visited) and so they charged me $420! Yes, seriously. $420 for canceling 24 hours prior to appointment, but not 48 hours. A Doctor's office will charge you $25-$50 for not canceling an appointment and here a prima donna PT is trying to charge $420 for not giving 48 hour notice? Absurd. Not only that, but they sent it to a collection agency that never even tried to contact me and they dinged my credit report. So now the attorneys are involved. BOTTOM LINE: Ms Sims charges an outrageous amount for her service. When I showed her book to my physical therapist locally in small-town Utah, my PT said there is nothing in her book that isn't taught at any PT school in the US: no magic. This clinic and PT are all marketing and no substance. My local PT here cost me a $15 co-pay for 6 visits and now my back is fine. I would recommend the same to anyone else not to pay the premium for supposed premium service. By the way, the review by "BT" with 5 stars from 1/29/2009 is highly suspect. Anyone truly suffering from SI pain would not say with a frivolous tone, "I decided to just hop on a plane and fly from California to Georgia to see her." If you truly have SI pain, gettting on a plane and taking a 6-hour flight is a gut-wrenching experience; terribly painful. For me, I had to plan a layover in Denver over night so I could manage the flight in short stints. The reviewer makes it sound like she is taking a cross-country joy-flight to visit a friend; which possibly she was. I give the review no credence. read more

After years of sacroiliac dysfunction with lots of pain, the quality of my life had diminished. I had gone through many doctors, wrong diagnoses, physical therapy and chiropractors when I came across Vicki Sims on the internet. After ordering her book and dvd, I felt like someone finally understood what was wrong with me. I decided to just hop on a plane and fly from California to Georgia to see her. That was one of the best moves in my life! Vicki Sims is incredibly knowledgeable and very devoted to helping you with every aspect of your pain. She listened to me patiently, examined me, showed me how to do self correction, gave me exercises for my individual needs, explained stabilization help such as taping and SI belts to me, and checked for all other side effects that come with having SI dysfunction over a longer period of time. After 5 days I was almost pain free! I know I have many months of exercising to go until everything will be ok, but I am confident that in a few months I will be able to enjoy doing all my favorite sports again. After years of back issues and pain, it began to hamper my life. I saw a neurosurgeon who told me that my issues were with bulging disks, SI issues, and some other things. He suggested I go to Gainesville PT and said he knew it was 30-45 min drive but they were the best. I went into the office limping and in a lot of pain and they were packed that day but Vicki Sims took time with me and listened to my concerns, my history of back pain and as she went over my MRI and doctor's notes, she came up with a plan for me. Within 3 wks I noticed a difference. I could walk without limping, I could get in and out of the car easier, I was starting to feel less and less pain. She listens and cares as well as the therapists I worked with (love Andrea). They are all so caring and concerned and truly care about you getting better. I was released pain-free and with the tools, they gave me (exercises, self-adjustments, etc) and I want others to get help, pain relief and improve so you can be active again. I didn't mind the drive because they truly are miracle workers! There were patients from all over GA driving a lot further than me and also people from other states and even other countries. That tells me that this facility is worth the drive to get help. read more

I rated this place two star due to "Well, I believe they tried to help" at first. I would give it 0 stars for post op care. I was in excrutiating pain with SIJD for a year after an injury. I went here after seeking help for over a year from other doctors. They were the kindest people ever that I really thought was going to get me out of this pain. I was promised that Id be better after my SI fixation surgery. The SI expert seemed like the most compassionate person ever before the surgery. After my surgery, I was put on something called wobble chair and they continued pulling on my neck even though I told them it hurt. I did not understand why I was having things done to a perfect neck right after a pelvic surgery, but the PT was very bossy (at times scolded me) that I had to do this because she believed I had a herniated disc. There was no proofs or testing done and I now know I did not have a herniated lumbar disc. I developed debitlitating neck pain 6 weeks after the surgery that has haunted me for over a year now. The PT whole demeanor and attitude changed after the surgery. She was very domineering and got very rude if asked any questions. She did not listen to what I had to say to her and quite frankly, didnt care. Doctors are dumbfounded as to why they were focused on healthy neck. They did not need to be working on a neck that had no complaints. She couldnt accept that my sitting pain was still there after the surgery, so blamed it on something else (herniated lumbar) and ended up destroying my neck. They should be paying for all the stuff I now have to pay for because I have a terrible neck. I have been yelled at at the clinic, lied to, and do believe that there was alot of false marketing going on for this place that led so many people to it. All I can say is, if you have SIJD and are in severe pain to where you cant handle life anymore and need surgery, if you go here: A. listen to what the surgeon says (he wanted screws on one side of me) and NOT to what the PT says (gave me bilateral fixation). B. Go and get your surgery and then leave ASAP. Do not do post op physical therapy here. they do not have time for you and the PTAs are not well trained about SIJD. One made me do an incorrect exercise that hurt me. C. Be strong and question the PT although she does not like it. D. Never ever evert waste your money on the Restorative disc program. Full of myths. I do not work or live a regular life bc of my neck pain and I still have pelvis issues. This surgery did NOT give me my life back. read more
