I'm from Chicago so I'm pretty fussy with pizza and I found this pizza to be very good. We bought three pizzas for a party (thin and I requested crispy-well done crust) sausage, green pepper & onion, and their taco pizza. I LOVED the taco pizza and it was my favorite. Everyone also loved all three pizzas. It was hot day so we moved from the take out waiting area for pick up to inside the restaurant and they were very nice, even offering us something to drink. They have a chef who no longer allows white sauce on our pasta dish instead of red. We were told after they drenched it in red sauce that we could buy white sauce for a fee. Bought it but it was a very small amount. As customers who have frequented this restaurant many years. It's sad that we can't buy what has always been available in the past. Customer service is NOT a priority here. I never mind the extra fee but when the cook refuses, it's a sign of disrespect to the customer. This restaurant does not care about its clientele. Large pizza with sausage & mushrooms - watery sauce not flavorful, sausage was not good and pizza all in all disappointing. AYCE perch was fishy tasting. We were looking for a nice place to eat after gambling at Four Winds Casino. This place had great reviews and was close by so we went. Thank goodness we did. We ordered a large meat lovers pizza and it may be the best we ever had. Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings were perfect. They even make their own sausage! We had such an amazing dinner at this restaurant. Our server, Taylor made us feel so welcome and was so patient and kind to my son. She was very professional and just made the whole experience so fantastic. Let me tell you about the food. We live in Chicago, so we know excellent pizza. This pizza is worth the two hour drive for sure. I took one bite and I said, "that Italian sausage tastes so fresh, and the crust does too!". Taylor let us know that they make the sausage and pizza dough fresh in the restaurant! I was so excited to hear that. It was really tasty. After enjoying the incredible Pizza, we ordered dessert. We rarely order dessert when we go out to eat, but I was dying to know what else they could impress me with. Taylor brought us the most amazing cannoli. So fresh and delicate, tiny but full of flavor. Just the right size after eating all that pizza. I wish Gala-T was closer to Chicago, but now I have somewhere to look forward to visiting when I come to Michigan to see family. Super nice wait staff. Pizza was very good! Crust, sauce, toppings, cheese (which was not greasy) were all in equal portions and quality ingredients. Finished out the night with dessert...cannolis and Italian cream cake! Enough said. We went out of our way to come here and will again for sure!! read more

This was a pleasant surprise for my family and I. I don't know exactly what we were expecting but we all left very happy. Our servers were very nice and polite who went out of their way to grab some coloring books for my daughters. We ordered kids pizzas for my daughters, my wife ordered the chicken penne, and I had the sausage sandwich. All our food was very good. They're delicious. The pizza is not quite what you get at a chain pizza place--which is a good thing. I've never even had their other dishes because the pizza is a hit with everyone I've been there with. The family size pizza feeds a small army, and they have lots of topping choices. Their newer chicken and ranch pizza is awesome, and I don't even really like ranch! Plus, the statue thing outside is kind of cool-the dude looks like he's holding a huge cake in the winter with all the snow on top. read more

This is a local staple and a family favorite. I love the family sized Gala-T special. There is something uniquely delicious about their pizza and I always stuff my face when I am here. Although I no longer live in the area, I have fond memories and look forward to visiting my parents and getting a "pizza night" out of the deal. It was crowded when we arrived but we got a table. The People seated behind us were angry and requiring our waitresses attention. Our table was only halfway cleaned and had a puddle of water on it because apparently other customers were more important. The server took a long time to get to us and the angry customers still didn't have the food they were promised. We ordered 3 different meals and they were all relatively good. I had the Veal Parm and liked it. The salad bar was nice and fresh and kept clean. Good food but service understaffed and inattentive. It took us 20 min to leave after our table was cleared. After we got the bill we waited 10 min for them to collect it. There were only 2 other tables by then it wasn't busy. read more

The pizza is about the best around....USUALLY. Friday night I bragged the pizza up to friends and family who had never had it. Of course as luck would have it the pies were a flop. Not sure what was up but it was almost not edible. Crust was flat and chewy not the usual airy crisp crust I was use to. There was no flavor, as if the sauce was missing something. My grandmother's 88th birthday was on Thursday and my dad had made plans to take her to dinner. She didn't know that more of us were showing up, so sort of a surprise. He called days in advance to make sure that we would have room, and made a reservation for ten people. He told the woman on the phone that he knew that the restaurant had some cupcake things for birthdays, but asked if it would be alright if he brought a small cake in. After a moment, she told him that it would be alright. So tonight when we showed up, not only was there no reservation, but my dad got scolded for bringing a cake, being told that outside food or drinks weren't allowed. After returning from putting it back in the car (where it proceeded to melt),  there was some back and forth between him and the waitress about how things had been pre-planned. A few minutes later, the owner came out with his arms crossed and his chest puffed out, "does somebody have a problem?". My dad tried to explain to him the situation, but also suggested that the owner try calming down first, instead of coming out at everyone aggressively. He actually asked him twice to take it down a notch, and while he was standing over my EIGHTY EIGHT YEAR OLD GRANDMOTHER with this attitude, even she said for everyone to knock it off.  My dad again told him just to let it be, because things were not looking any better as things progressed. He asked when my dad had called. He said he thought it was on Sunday. Many people in the restaurant saw everything and made comments to our table about how rude that was and how they wouldn't have blamed us if we had left. Which, if we hadn't already gotten my grandmother and another couple of elderly people there, we just may have. We ordered, and the food came. It just seemed like their whole service process was really scatterbrained, like the kind you'd expect from people who didn't think to write down that ten people were coming on Thursday and needed a table. After dinner, we were all going outside to the cars, and my grandmother and her friends were the last ones. Another lady who works there made a comment to my grandmother, something along the lines of "good thing we had room for you, since we checked the caller ID and you didn't call on Sunday". Now, he guessed that he had called on Sunday. It may have been on Saturday, or Friday, or whatever. We didn't know there would be a quiz. The point was that he had called and talked to someone days prior and then we get this treatment. All of us have been eating there for years. And as usual, their food is actually quite exceptional. Too bad it's ruined with absolute sh*t customer service and an owner that would approach or speak to customers in that manner. It's not every day that a grandmother gets to turn 88, and sit down and have a nice meal and appreciate being able to spend time with friends and family. Good job guys. read more

I grew up in Hartford and Galaties has good pizza, pasta, and garlic bread. It's yummy, reasonably priced comfort food.

This place sucks, nothing but teenagers work there so the service is terrible, only kind of clean, the pizza tastes like cardboard and is outrageously expencive. When the guys dad owned it, it might have been worth a visit but his son has let it go to S***.. Boo.. read more

Other reviews led me to believe that the Gala-T-Inn would be on par with a Gourmet Pizza Company, but nothing could be further from reality. All the ingredients here taste frozen, canned, or somehow worse. First time I ever visited and most likely the last. First off, they weren't busy at all so we figured we'd have good service, not at all what happened. Our server started off good but then after she took our orders and delivered our drinks we didn't see her again for 25 minutes, and by that time all four of us needed refills. She proceeded to walk by us a few times before she even looked our way to see that our cups were at the end of the table, empty. She refilled our drinks and then disappeared again, this time for another 20 minutes until our food was ready. So it took 45 minutes for three sandwiches and a very small cheese pizza. The food was delivered, and to the eye it was correct until I bit into my grilled chicken sandwich, the chicken was like chewing on rubber and undercooked. I politely let the server know about the issue, told her I was fine, I didn't need anything else and she took my plate away. When I received my bill, I was still charged for my sandwich that I sent back and didn't eat but one bite of. I asked her why I was still being charged and she told me because we made it so you have to pay for it! I let her know, no I'm most certainly not going to pay for something I didn't eat, and she took it to her manager to correct. I've worked as a server for over 10 years, and never have I been to a restaurant where someone was made to pay for something they sent back and didn't consume. After all of that was straightened out, there was another problem with my brothers bill, extra charges were added for things we didn't even have and we were charged $.50 for no onions on a sandwich. The server also failed to notify us that there was an unchange for fried mushrooms with our sandwiches. All in all it was a pretty bad experience, we waited over 40 minutes for food, service was extremely slow and it seemed like no one knew what they were doing. If you're looking for good food and good service, this is not the place. Very disappointing experience. read more

The Service was fine. The pizza was not good at all. It tasted burnt. Didn't look burnt. It tasted flat, without flavor. Not much toppings to choose from. Took about 40 minutes to get the pizza to our table and then we found the order done wrong. Management did promptly correct the error rather swiftly though, without any extra charges. The drinks were fine, but the coffee tasted like it was a day old. The dinning area was cozy, but the table was not cleaned well, but the seats were comfortable. Our server was very friendly. They do serve other dishes though besides pizza. In short, the pizza will fill you, but I would not drive out of my way or the extra mile to eat here again. read more
