Not good. I'd put it with a fast-food, inexpensive-type Italian place. The pappardelle ragu definitely did not taste like it had been braising for 8 hours, as claimed. It was a very tart and tangy tomato flavor, lacking any salt or seasoning. Lasagna tasted like Chef Boyardee. Same with the spaghetti and meatballs. The white dish had massive bones in every single bite and the smell was so fishy it was hard to eat my pasta. We also got two Caesar salads with chicken. The salad had more cheese than lettuce, and the chicken tasted like canned chicken. (They offer fresh grated cheese at the table when being served. No extra cheese was added.)Super disappointing. We were starving and needed food, so we tried this place. Walking out after paying $170 plus for nasty food was super disappointing. Don't go here. Not worth the $.

Not understanding some of the negative reviews here because our experience was fantastic. We were planning on going somewhere else in town and, after listening to a podcast about parmesan cheese, we called an audible and went here. Perfect service, such great dishes... when you are craving Italian food, this place is the right move.

My husband and I were looking for a place to eat on a recent trip to South Haven. I was a bit apprehensive because of some of the reviews, but took a chance because the pictures looked appealing. I am glad I did! The food was delicious! I had the butternut squash ravioli and my husband had the Lasagne. They were one of the few restaurants open in January and we were basically the only ones. Our waitress was very attentive and gave us great recommendations. I enjoyed the decor. I would come again!

The food was pretty bland, and the servers weren't nice. I would try another place rather than coming here.

My friend and I stopped there on our leisure walk. There were 4 people inside, with 2 waitresses working. We were politely greeted by Kim, who explained the "run of the land." You get 5 tastings for $12. Like most wine tastings, there are options of whites, reds, semi-sweets, and sweets. There is a $4 uncharge to try the ice wine. Although I'm usually a "Red Girl," my favorite was the Beach White and the River Stone White. My least favorite was the River Stone Dry Rosè.Rose. My friend's last favorite was the PinoPinot Grigio. I must also admit that Pinot Noir is typically my wine of choice and this one was not very good to my palate. As a pleasant treat, this establishment also offers a variety of ice cream bars from another Michigan-owned business called Icebox Brand. We did not try them, but it is reportedly delicious with options for small and large bars. Another bonus is you get to keep your tasting glasses! Overall, it was a great experience with delicious options. As a seasoned wine taster, I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

The wine here was still good, and I loved that they had a little kids' area. As a parent, that was such a thoughtful touch and definitely made the visit easier. Unfortunately, the service is what brought this experience down. I stopped in twice, hoping the first visit was just an off day, but both times I left feeling like I wasn't welcome. The woman working seemed irritated and annoyed anytime we interacted. I could tell she was the only one there, so I genuinely don't blame her for being overwhelmed, but it still didn't make for a very inviting experience. The tasting room itself was okay. It's a bit dated and could use a refresh, but the biggest issue was simply the atmosphere created by the service. I really hope management can get this location some extra support. The wine is worth stopping for, and with friendlier service, this tasting room could be just as enjoyable as the main location.

I especially liked the nonalcoholic choices while my husband enjoyed the craft beer selection. Food and service were both excellent. The deviled eggs are a must, and that's from someone who generally doesn't eat them. The dinner menu isn't terribly large but what they do, they do very well. Dessert menu rotates but the pots de crème we ordered was amazing. Prices and portion sizes are pretty reasonable. We intend to make Borrowed Time a regular stop during or trips to SW Michigan.

They were both delicious. The meatballs were flavorful and moist. The soup tasted fresh and creamy with little chunks within. Those both were my absolute favorite. I was slightly disappointed in the smoked salmon, as it didn't seem like it was smoked that well. To me it was more baked than smoked. The bread was good and the Honey butter was a nice spread on it. Chicken had a nice sauce/flavor to it, though was a tad on the dry side for me. Atmosphere was alright, we enjoyed the outdoor seating and never went inside so cannot speak on that. Service was alright. Nothing to write home about. Not sure I'd make this a place to visit a second time. Thought its worth a try once.
