Food was very good for the location. It wasn't what I was expecting but is closer to me than Hartford so thought we'd try it. The pizza was the best but I don't get a picture. I'd get the pizza if you go and skip the bread and pasta. Note - their menu prices have been updated, i.e. prices are HIGHER than any menu shown online including their own website. See photo. Imagine our confusion and frustration when we ordered takeout by phone from the online menu, to end up paying $4.50-$5.50 more per pizza than we planned... $20 higher for our order of 4 pizzas. Luckily we had enough cash since they don't take cards.... I understand that costs change; they need to please take a second and update the website. The pizza was fine, we enjoyed it well enough; just more pricey than expected. Experience would have been a little less disappointing had the person serving us smiled or been more pleasant. Nancy (our server) was AMAZING! Every booth was full, every table was full and the bar stools were all full and she handled it all flawlessly!! They'd have to hire 3 people to replace this woman. The kitchen staff is great also. We had a side salad - large portion and fresh and crisp. We had a large pizza with sausage & mushrooms over all and pepperoni on just half. It was hot out of the oven and EXCELLANT as always. It is always clean inside. Will DEFINATELY return it's one of our regular stops. I have to say without Nancy there it's not the same. read more

So every time I ride by this place it was busy so I finally decided to give it a try. Jody was our server and she saved the day!!! She was a great server she never let the drinks get empty and served that food fresh and hot the pizza was great the meatball plate was fabulous and the grilled mushrooms were the bomb!!!! Terrible rude service tonight from Christy because we came in at 912 and they close at 10, kitchen at 930. Same rude manner during entire ordering. Bad attitude. Not to be confused with Christina.. my daughter asked for the manager to which she replied she was. So sad because this is a favorite place, but hit or miss lately. I can't tell you how many times we've driven by this place over the years, but we finally decided to give it a try and order carry out. We ordered the meatballs, a 14" pizza and a burger. All were very good! If you aren't used to these small restaurants in the area, just know that this place is cash only like many others - so don't be surprised by that. Also, they don't have fries on the menu, but that wasn't a deal breaker. They do offer bagged chips as a side option with the burger. read more

As an out of towner passing through, I did not have a good dining experience here. The service was not great. The food was incredibly bland and way overpriced (16$) for a greasy, small sized cheese pizza. I can only describe the ambiance/ vibes as unfriendly/ unwelcoming. We basically were ignored by the waitress the entire night but it seemed like the town locals got lots of attention. It took about 7 minutes after being seated to even get menus. The confusing mix of one-sided political news and game shows on the TVs did not help the strange vibes. Also- note they only take cash, with a hefty ATM fee (that doesn't take Amex either). My go-to place for good pizza in SW Michigan! I've been going to DiMaggio's my whole life and I'm now 67! While the pizza isn't quite the same as it used to be years ago, it's still the best pizza available in all of SW Michigan. I drive from 50 miles away just to have their pizza! The food is not good and honestly the staff is very very unfriendly. We actually weren't sure if it was part of the deal like an Ed Debevic's where they purposely treat you rudely. We live in the neighborhood and pop in now and again just for a beer or two. They treat you like you are bothering them by sitting at the bar. They close whenever they decide to. They don't honor their own hours. They were rude and aggressive about not serving, serval, cars of people who were turned away an hour before they closed. They claimed the kitchen closes a half hour before they do but it was barely 9:15 when they supposedly close at 10:00. Can't even judge them on their food because they wouldn't let us have any...super disappointing. read more

Customers have to use the atm in their restaurant, and the atm charges a lot ($3.50), which of course goes to DiMaggio's... I can usually find good in most places but this was hard. The pizza is just ok. No real creativity in their offerings. Thin crust but you have a choice of thick if you add 20 minutes to your order. Our thin crust pizza took 90 minutes so beware. There is no indication if you're to be seated or if some one will do that for you so we saw customers get yelled at by the wait staff for jumping the line. They only take cash and checks so be prepared. They do offer an ATM. It looked like they had a bar but our waitress was so surly and rude we just stuck with water. After 75 minutes we asked about our pizza and we're told she had no idea and was too busy to check. The final negative is they use cheap paper plates for dinner plates. The interior was clean and bright after a fire a year or two ago but it's like putting lipstick on a pig... it's still a pig. read more

I was so excited to take my friend there for a pizza;as she's never been there. We ordered a veggie pizza. Never asked for a thin crust. When it came out I was shocked to see that more than half the edge was burnt and there was barely any sauce on it. I wish I could give it 3.5 stars. Went last night with my dad and son. My son had the spaghetti with meat sauce; he said it was okay but, he wouldn't have it again...that being said he ate all of it. My dad and I ordered a large thin crust pepperoni and extra cheese pizza. It looked absolutely delicious but, didn't have much flavor. This place was really cool. Sadly it burnt up and was remodeled in 2019 so it was a clash of tradition with modern interior. This would be a great place to belly up to the bar and enjoy some food. We had the pizza to go. All were great. Wish I would have known they have 3 thicknesses of crust. If you don't ask you'll get the standard but they have a thin and thick. Highly recommend this being a stop for anyone looking for some good pizza. The crust was crisp and not too thick. They have an option for thicker or thinner crust. I would recommend going with the regular crust. The toppings were fresh and the sausage was amazing. The pizza sauce had a nice flavor as well. If you like Chicago style pizza, I would recommend stopping at this gem off the beaten path. We got the 18" which ran us $20.99 after taxes. It's a bit pricey but was well worth it.
