Very wonderful first experience! Made an appointment the day before and came in the day of and only waited 5 minutes which was pretty nice, there aren't too many ladies inside so I didn't mind waiting. Got a pedicure with a new color I don't usually go for, ladies are very friendly and welcoming, and of course the man that was working was also friendly. Pedicure was $30 which is a fair price and the pedicure was done under an hour which I appreciate! Will be coming back! Thank you Kimmy!

Started coming here because it is close to my work. I am very happy with their work on my acrylic nails. I showed the tech a photo of the nail art I wanted and it was done 100% the same! The tech even noticed small black lines in the flower which I didn't even see in the reference photo. The attention to detail was great! Also they have a discount if you pay with cash.

I contacted Long through Yelp to ask if they did dip manicures and he got back to me in minutes! I made an appointment and headed in today. The entire experience was so laid back and calm. In the past I've gotten rushed through the process, and the nail techs seemed annoyed when it took me more than 30 seconds to pick a color, but I didn't feel rushed here at all. Long even remembered my name from making my appointment previous night! The woman who ended up doing my nails was amazing! She took her time dremeling off my old dip manicure, careful not to hit my cuticles or bare nail as nail techs have at other salons. I know dip manicures can take forever, but she never rushed and took her time throughout the whole process. I'm so happy with the results and will definitely be coming back in a few weeks to get another manicure!!

Annie gave me quite literally the best set of nails I've ever had! I love them and so glad I randomly chose Galaxy while in Oak park! I'd drive from Wicker every two weeks just to get them done here!

Love love love Galaxy Nails! A no-frills nail salon that's affordable and does an amazing job? That's a recipe for the best nail place around. I've been here already a few times before reviewing. I had a great experience every time! The pedicures especially here are out of this world. Some techs take their sweet time and others are more timely - either or, the results are always fabulous and more importantly they last such a long time. If you pay cash, it's $45 and if you use a card it's $47. I don't see that price anywhere else, it's usually $50+. I've also never had an issue with scheduling, they're fairly open often. I'll definitely miss this place once I move away, but if you're in the area I highly recommend going to this nail salon! read more

Every time I go in , it's always been a pleasant experience. I am not a "regular " per se , I just don't have time. My daughter and I went in Thursday and the Women my daughter had said to her, I haven't seen you in while!! Made me happy to know they recognized her. Good experience and good atmosphere. read more

They are the best around! One week I went somewhere else and regretted it immediately. Kim, Kaylie, Maddie, and Charlie are all terrific techs here! I can usually get in same day when I call ahead. I've been going here for years and my dip nails last 3 weeks as intended. Last time I went here, the dip color didn't turn out what I wanted but Kim and Maddie fixed it for me. That's my only word of caution - dip colors don't always reflect the sample. But Maddie was willing to sample colors for me. read more

Called today out of the blue for an appointment for my daughter to get a no chip. They were able to accommodate me. My daughter was taken as soon as we walked in for the appointment they did a lovely job on her nails. The shop was very clean and all the ladies were very pleasant. I have been here a couple of times. Both for just a manicure and for a manicure and pedicure. Yes, it is a small space in a strip mall in River Grove next to a smoke shop a couple of vacant properties and a restaurant. That said, the customer service here was always good and I didn't have to wait to long. The affordable prices is one of the main factors drawing me back but the services provided by the people there is over and above price and all good. I recommend. read more

Took an appointment yesterday through yelp which was super easy and they responded really quickly. I took an appointment for today 2pm which was confirmed through Yelp messages. I arrive at 2pm for my appointment and he tells me to pick my colors and have a seat. I do so and had a seat for 50 min! They left me sitting without saying a word for 50 min. When I was just about to get up to leave, they sat me down for my pedicure and left my feet soaking in water for 10 min. Never going up, definitely lost a potential regular client. Was looking forward to this place after moving to the area and saw all the good reviews. That was a bad first experience and would never return. read more

Just got my eyebrows done and the experience was beautiful! Asked for wax and that's what I got. No half wax half pluck here. Showed her a picture of how my eyebrows were done before and it was duplicated exactly. Why can't everyone do that. Just a little razor blaze at the end, though I am not a fan of that.... I look too cute and my face is not irritated. She was very gentle handling my face and very polite. I will be back! Especially since they are open late during the week and open on weekends. I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new nail salon. I messaged the salon for an appointment and received a reply within minutes. I was able to get in right away. The salon is clean and the staff is friendly and talented. I showed Long a picture of the design I wanted and he executed it flawlessly. I just moved to Oak Park and I've been so disappointed in the nail salon options they have by me! I started searching for places north of me and took a chance on Galaxy nail. I was not disappointed. The staff were friendly and the salon is clean. They have a great selection of normal polish colors and I felt that their no chip/dip selection was awesome too! I got my nails done by Long and my friend had Nancy, both were great! I did a dip ombré and it turned out AMAZING! I will definitely be back! read more

First, I called to make an appointment for three people. They asked what kind of nails we wanted and told me to send our nail inspiration pictures so they could decide which nail tech would be the best fit. I sent everything, but they never texted me back. When I arrived, they sat me with a lady named Vivian (or something similar). She immediately pulled out Gel-X nail tips. I told her, "No, I want acrylic nails." She then took out polygel instead, and I told her again that I wanted acrylic because I'm paying for the service I asked for. She kept insisting that acrylic was harmful for my nails and convinced me to get polygel instead. I also had an injured fingernail and specifically asked her to leave that finger alone. She ignored my request and put polygel on it anyway. While shaping my nails, she kept hurting that finger because the nails were extremely thick. She even admitted she wouldn't charge me for that finger because of it. Then she started filing with the drill and repeatedly burned my nails because she wasn't lifting the drill properly. The nails ended up looking bulky and way thicker than I wanted. The rhinestones looked terrible--they were just randomly placed on my nails with no attention to detail. To make it worse, she got nail polish and glue all over my hands and never bothered to clean it up. When it was time to pay, my total came to $115. My nails weren't even long, and I was shocked to find out I was being charged extra for polygel--even though I had originally asked for acrylic and only got polygel because she talked me into it. No one explained there would be an extra charge. To make matters even worse, the nail tips started coming off shortly after I got them done. For the amount I paid, I expected them to last, but they didn't. They began lifting and popping off way too soon, which made the quality even more disappointing. The whole experience was frustrating from start to finish. My friend's nails were almost identical to mine, yet I was charged so much more. Before I left, the nail tech started talking to the owner and seemed upset with me. They ended up not charging me for the rhinestones, but that honestly didn't make a difference considering how poorly the service was. I would not recommend this salon. They didn't listen to what I asked for, ignored my concerns about my injured nail, hurt me during the service, left my nails looking thick and messy, and charged me for something I never wanted in the first place. On top of that, the nails didn't even last, and the tips started coming off soon after. Definitely not worth $115. THIS PLACE IS ALL LOOKS IF YALL WANT CUTE NAILS LIKE THE INSPO JUST DONT

Best no chip I've ever had! Lasts up to three weeks. Their deluxe spa pedicure is completely worthy regardless of the additional few dollars. Water aside, this place feels a wee bit like visiting a beauty school and being the first client the student has ever had. I used to think the inconsistent service and quality of work issues were reflective of a new business working out the kinks. I am now convinced it reflects the ineptitude of the staff members to exhibit any level of competence. Each time I have visited, at least one customer in the establishment leaves frustrated, angry, complains aloud or raises an issue with the staff. Today was my turn. The wrap (foil, cotton and acetone) on my nails to remove the no chip polish leaked on my clothing and the table because it was not tight. It was checked for the first time 40 minutes later but I'll get to that in a moment. During this time, I sat as one worker scrambled around looking for work, when there was none. The worker even tried to convince another lady to get her nails polished while she received a pedicure and asked a guy who spoke better English advocate to another lady waiting for her friend to give their salon a try too. After striking out twice, I watched the worker who was practically begging for work, leave. When I was able to make eye contact with the guy who wrapped my nails and I asked why the departing worker did not offer to service me and, I was told that I was his client and I had to wait because it was his turn and he had wrapped my nails before she finished her client. Seriously?!! I should have put him in time out for uttering those words. I am expected to wait for you when someone else is available to do it !!!! Are you serious??? What happened next is much worse. The guy then removes the foil and cotton from my nails and it looked as if nothing was ever done! Nothing peeled or melted with use of acetone for 40 minutes! While it sincerely pained me to leave with jacked up nails, I knew it was best to cut my losses. I left without allowing the saga to continue.
