Saigon, I really wanted this to work out but it's a hopeless situation. Here's the good - customers are given a bottle of water during the visit. Water aside, this place feels a wee bit like visiting a beauty school and being the first client the student has ever had. I used to think the inconsistent service and quality of work issues were reflective of a new business working out the kinks. I am now convinced it reflects the ineptitude of the staff members to exhibit any level of competence. Each time I have visited, at least one customer in the establishment leaves frustrated, angry, complains aloud or raises an issue with the staff. Today was my turn. The wrap (foil, cotton and acetone) on my nails to remove the no chip polish leaked on my clothing and the table because it was not tight. It was checked for the first time 40 minutes later but I'll get to that in a moment. During this time, I sat as one worker scrambled around looking for work, when there was none. The worker even tried to convince another lady to get her nails polished while she received a pedicure and asked a guy who spoke better English advocate to another lady waiting for her friend to give their salon a try too. After striking out twice, I watched the worker who was practically begging for work, leave. When I was able to make eye contact with the guy who wrapped my nails and I asked why the departing worker did not offer to service me and, I was told that I was his client and I had to wait because it was his turn and he had wrapped my nails before she finished her client. Seriously?!! I should have put him in time out for uttering those words. I am expected to wait for you when someone else is available to do it !!!! Are you serious??? What happened next is much worse. The guy then removes the foil and cotton from my nails and it looked as if nothing was ever done! Nothing peeled or melted with use of acetone for 40 minutes! While it sincerely pained me to leave with jacked up nails, I knew it was best to cut my losses. I left without allowing the saga to continue. read more

Went here last week for a no chip mani and was pretty happy with it. I did come pretty close to when they were closing (which I knew because I called beforehand), so i know that they were kinda rushing through it. But I was ok with it. Very good price - $30 (I think it was a Sunday special). The one male nail tech (or owner- unsure) was very nice! I got the 419 no chip color. I'm happy with it and will likely go back. I don't get my nails done too often since my natural nails are okay too without paint. I believe they had a guarantee of 10 days on the no chips as well read more

Anytime I come to this nail salon, my nails barely last a full week. Let alone 2 weeks. I take pride in my nails, I've been growing my real nails for almost 1 year now with dip powder. I come here because it's close to where I live. I feel like my nails are always being rushed through, they come out lumpy, the gel polish comes off, the dip powder cracks.. I don't feel relaxed when I come in because I'm so focused on how my nails will come out. I try to give it a fair shot to come in again and maybe they'll be better this time. I went to this salon twice. The first time I got there 5 minutes before they opened and no one showed up until 20 min after. A bunch of us ladies were waiting outside. The second time I went the same thing happened!!! 3 of us waiting outside until someone came, and this time they were 15 min. late. The quality is not good. For my pedicure the nail polish was chalky not smooth (I wound have been willing to pick a different color if there wasn't any left in the bottle). THEY ARE SLOW. I was in the shop for around 2 hours. Just for a mani/pedi and was in the chair first. They are not very clean at all. They re-use things a lot without cleaning them beforehand from the previous person. Lastly, they are understaffed. read more

Then left without my friend getting his mani and I left paying 65 dollars for half assed nails and bleeding because the guy kept on putting the drill on my cuticles. None of my nails are the same length. The paint job is horrible! Will never go back there again read more

I came in on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed but the owner told me the real wait time (at least 40 mins) before he can take me in for a pedi and full set. I'm really sorry but my experience here was extremely disappointing. They don't have any normal polish brands- they are off-brand and look streaky and terrible. The people are very nice, but (I didn't realize at the time) when she was buffing off the callouses on my feet, she scraped the sides raw, and now it hurts when I put on shoes or take a shower! When I walked in at 3:15pm there were only two ladies working (as usual one on nails one on feet) and no customers.The lady started my nails but another lady comes in needs her nails done then another. I've been coming here for a while now and I typically love their service here. My only complaint is they never have enough staff. Most of the time there will only be one staff member and I get turned down sometimes. I even set an appointment for my mom and i and when we got there, the woman told us to come back later. I wish I could give the place 0 stars. What a joke. I went in to get a no chip manicure. The girl who was working on me left for over 30 minutes while my polish was soaking off. She cut my nails too short and didn't know how to file my nails into an almond shape. She polished my nails sloppy, polish all over my cuticles. Then she cut me trying to fix the dried polish. This nail salon just opened in May, 2015. It is on the southeast corner of Harlem and Washington Blvd with a small parking lot off Washington. My manicure and pedicure cost $32 with the "Grand Opening" discount. The salon is clean, well-lit, sanitary and has a decent stock of OPI and other polishes. The only small negative was that the nail dryers were not functioning at optimal level. My nail tech, Ashley, who is saving money for school, did an excellent job. She was thorough, competent, and personable. She didn't rush the pedicure and applied polish with good attention to detail. They are new, so I thought I would get this posted to help them bring in new business. I will definitely go back! read more

I came into this salon to ask if they were able to do a specific (but simple) nail art design along with a regular manicure. I was reassured that yes, they could do it, so I paid as they requested and sat down for the manicure. Throughout my service I could tell that they were a)unprepared and b)inexperienced. The manicurist insisted I let him apply "gel" (ie, acrylic) to my nails. I decided to go with it, as I wanted my nails done for a special occasion and figured I'd just have it removed later. After that was a mediocre polish job, and then, surprise, not what was requested! The simple designed I'd asked for (and showed pictures of) turned in Hello Kitty. When I quested the manicurist, he insisted it was "more beautiful". At this point I stopped the service, let my nails dry for a few minutes so that they wouldn't get all over everything, and left. Once home I had to immediately remove the polish, and then find the time to book with a different salon to have the fake nails removed. During that appointment, the manicurist (whom I trust much more than the original) complained about what a terrible job he had done applying the "gel", pointing out that it was all over my cuticles and difficult to remove. Moral of the story, I will never ever revisit this salon. There are too many good nail salons out there, there is no reason to visit a subpar one with inexperienced techs. read more

I am currently seated in the nail salon getting a pedicure and a full set. I rushed to get here before 8:00 when they closed, and they gladly took my requests for services without a doubt. They greeted me with water, and immediate service. The woman doing my pedicure is taking her time and seems very patient, and detailed. The price is right with the 20% discount for the grand opening. For a fill in and pedicure I pay 36.00 plus tips. Not too bad (pretty much the same as most nail competitors around here) but worth it because of the quality of the nail technicians. I had a manicure there.She open the drawer took clippers for cutting skins, took off the plastic protection on it and start doing my nail... Nothing new right? But when I was drying my nails, she took my skin off from the tool just using her fingers, put the plastic cover back on it and put it again to the same drawer. Gross!!! There are only 2-3 employees, and they rotate around the room instead of focusing on one client. That increases the time you spend there and the time it takes to get services done. The actual service isn't the best (I got acrylic full set nails and had to go back twice with broken glue and nails). Upon arrival, nobody speaks to you and there aren't a lot of chairs to sit in awkwardly to wait. If you call ahead to make an "appointment", it doesn't matter because "someone else takes down messages" and you'll still have to wait. I went into this salon today hoping to get my nails done with my husband. Upon walking in nobody greets you. I sat there for ten minutes before someone said " How many I help you". They had first me and my husband and then another lady walked in and sat down waiting to be serviced. Shortly after another lady comes in. The techition looks at all of us who were waiting and tells the lady that just walked in to sit down before us. All three of us waiting were by that time confused as to there being an order for service. I was so upset after the tech said " she is just fixing two nails". I got up and immediately walked out. This is the ugliest place I've ever seen. It is a stucco building that once looked lovely, but the owners have painted the entire building--including window trim, a dead dull black. It's an eyesore. I wish Oak Park had aesthetic rules against this sort of thing. read more
