They are very strict about the shoes and will ask to see your shoes (so make sure you have volley ball shoes or badminton shoes.) Overall, a friendly place to play and the people running the front desk are super nice. I will be back to play if I am in the LA area again.

The designated pickleball courts are really nice. I always feel like it was a treat every time my friends were able to reserve those courts. The tennis courts with the pickleball lines can be confusing the first time you hit on it. The tennis lines are white and the pickleball lines are black. You get used to it after a bit. But the lights here are horrible. You don't even have to hit the ball too high and the ball will get lost in the lights. And the parking here is also horrible. If you get here around 5:30-6PM, (especially if it's soccer season) good luck finding parking. People just make their own parking spots along the red zone (I'm also guilty of this). But with all that said, I'll definitely join a group session again. Especially since it's summer right now and the sun is staying out longer. I've never played pickleball…read more And for the last two years, friends and fam have been trying to convince me to try it out, but the timing was never really right. Then one day! They finally convinced me to join their league and just go. My very first practice was here - which is conveniently close to home. I was immediately impressed when I walked in. I checked in (I registered prior to coming in - $20 for the day), did a quick browse through their merch and was pleasantly surprised at how many courts they have. I gotta say, they're popular: all courts were occupied. And it's pretty well maintained - no clutter, the whole court look like they were freshly painted, even the nets looked new. They also have a nice lounge area and they provide free water - just bring your own tumbler. I was lucky enough to get free coaching from cousin-in-law who showed me the basics: rules, scoring, etc., and was playing 2 vs 2 in no time. And I'll admit I really enjoyed it! A couple more practice runs and I might just commit! Most of them have tried many other facilities but they said this one is the best one they've played at yet. I've seen a couple of those places and I have to agree. Their league has a tourney soon - I'm signed up, apparently - and it'll be held here, so I'll be coming back sooner than later. Good first run! I went to Liberty Park for my cousin's son's first birthday party, a big event with catering and…read moredecorations and about a hundred Koreans. They took over a giant covered outdoor area with a ton of picnic tables, clean and open and perfect for a large party (I assume they had to rent this). I've been to a lot of parks over the years, and most of them don't have comparable event spaces. The one disadvantage was that we were far away from the playground, much to the chagrin of my three-year-old, who kept demanding to leave the party in favor of the play structure he saw in the distance. Liberty Park is just a huge place with several different zones. We even switched parking lots once we got there and figured out where the actual party was, on the Camp Liberty side of the park. The party was really nice, pleasant and relaxing. We had lunch, watched the dohl ceremonies (he grabbed the stethoscope, securing his future as a doctor), took pictures, and hung out with family. Then, because I'm not a monster, I took my boy to the playground. It was a great playground, well maintained and pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon. Fewer kids, in fact, than teenagers working out and playing loud music nearby. I'm not complaining. In fact, my child was fascinated by their music and got as much entertainment from their speakers as he did from the play structure. I don't live anywhere near Cerritos, but if I did, I'd make good use of Liberty Park. What a lovely neighborhood resource, for both special events and everyday recreation.

I see people on the playground and other pickleball courts (3 in the middle) (2 on side). The track is crowded too! The parking does get full in the evening so you may need to park on the street.

My kids have been coming here for years and they love it for all of the following reasons 1) food is great, yes, included and kid-friendly 2) staff are kind and experienced - for some reason a lot of psychology majors 3) fun games! watching campers versus counselors dodgeball just left me leaving with the biggest grin they swim every day which basically means it's a spring break-like pool party daily. My kids have been living it up with poolside shirley temples and fries. it's wonderful to see that there is still a place with JOY. Not about getting ahead academically, or being the most competitive athlete, but just about having good ol' fashioned fun. I hope my kids stay long enough to maybe one day be staff.

The JKC team is headed by the men's USC tennis coach, Peter Smith! There's a small pro shop as you walk in the front door, then there's a nice size swimming pool (looked like an Olympic size pool). The club has a large locker room. Also, the tennis facility had a lot of lessons going on and it looked like they had a very good junior tennis program.
