I got a chance to play a match on Wednesday night at the Jack Kramer Club! It's a fantastic facility with top notch tennis courts. The lights were bright, so it was a pleasure to play there at night. The courts were medium in speed. The team we played against had many ex-USC varsity tennis players on it. The JKC team is headed by the men's USC tennis coach, Peter Smith! There's a small pro shop as you walk in the front door, then there's a nice size swimming pool (looked like an Olympic size pool). The club has a large locker room. Also, the tennis facility had a lot of lessons going on and it looked like they had a very good junior tennis program. I would love to play at the club more often if I was a member or lived in the area. Tennis is the best sport! Xie Xie!! read more

If you grew up playing tennis in the 70's and 80's then the Jack Kramer Club will bring back lots of childhood memories. If you played in groups and ladders and round robins, if your mom dropped you off at the club in the morning and left you there til the night , if you played tennis every day all day all summer, then this place is your dream club. Know why? Sampras and Davenport and Tracy Austin all grew up here, and not one thing has changed since they played there. Old clubhouse, old locker rooms, old everything. Courts are great, 12 hard courts, great snack bar. Giant olympic pool, diving board, the best. New director of tennis is Jeff Tarango, he was top 100 in the world for close to 20 years. He's a great guy, a great pro with good stories and an all around good guy. Not sure what the memberships look like but if you are reading this then you should join. read more

Kramer Club has been an amazing place for our family and community. My husband and I have met a great group of friends we play tennis with regularly. The coaches are among the best - including some of the top ex - pros in the nation. They are accessible and the atmosphere is nothing but positive. The courts are updated, clean, and beautiful! Our kids attended their summer lessons and camps throughout their youth, and it has always been their favorite place to hang - tennis, swimming, ping pong, the snack shack are all great assets to the club. JKC is a great place to be a member and The Board and Management Team is working hard to make it even better every day. For about the cost of a night out on the town or a monthly pool cleaning fee; your family gets a great place to swim, gym, tennis, social/family events, and a kids area with a playground, ping pong, and much more. My family joined as equity members around a year ago after considering a variety of options at various costs. I am a well educated, classy young woman and when I walked in and tried to speak to the women who worked at the office, they were so rude. They were so condescending and spoke to me as if I was a homeless crack addict. Laughing, scoffing in my face. It was one of the stranger experiences of my adult life. Had the opportunity to join this club since the school that our children go to was offering a insanely good deal. So far we have enjoyed the atmosphere at the club and the grill/snack shack has very good quality food at reasonable prices. The good: Tends to be sunny at the Kramer club when other locations around the hill are socked in with marine layer. Parking and pool access always is easy and never seems to get too crowded. The area is clean and having two real diving boards keeps the kids busy. They have easy access to a small gym overlooking the pool with the bikes, stair climbers, treadmills and other equipment. They also have two large ice machines that allow you to ice down any type of beverage (no glass) in your cooler while you cool down. Also, you can bring a guest(s) and they only charge $5 to use the facilities, but if say you bring your Mom or whomever, who just wants to hang out, no charge at all. If you have young kids they have a handball court and you can have birthday parties in that covered area. Open at 6am and close at 10pm, awesome. WiFi throughout club and have a large lounge room with a big screen in case someone wants to catch up on the big game. The bad: No jacuzzi, which you don't really need, but would be nice to unwind if you had a long day or finished a round of tennis. Some of the staff at the front desk can be less than friendly. Need to bring your own towel. Overall, we have tried a few other pool clubs around the area and this one works very well for our family and guests. read more

We used to come to Jack Kramer club for junior workout and lessons only. We really liked it. The club was like a family. Then my son joined the junior membership a couple years ago. He was having so much fun hanging out at the club with beautiful friends. All the coaches are wonderful and super nice. Then my husband and I want to be part of the big family. So we joined the equity membership. We love it! We are having so much fun at Tennis, pool and family fun night, junior star light night, BBQ......Come to join us, I am sure you will like it too. read more

One of the last member owned clubs in Southern California! Great facilities and staff! My family has been a member for over a decade and we love the family atmosphere. Unlike most of the other clubs in the area that are oversold and packed. The Kramer Club as limited memberships with an exclusive feel. You never know when you'll be playing next to an All American, former pro or former #1 in the world and Hall of Fame member! Our Son went through the junior program and had a great time with good kids who are focused on their educations and tennis. They have great coaches who love the kids. They teach the game correctly and at an high level as evidenced by the large number of kids going on the play in college. Plenty of member events, USTA league play and junior tournaments. They also host college matches which are great for the juniors to watch and connect with coaches. They also have a great pool with tons of seating. And their summer camps are packed and look like fun. If you're a tennis playing family this is the club for you! read more

THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE SUMMER CAMP ONLY: We are not members and this is our first experience with the Jack Kraemer Club. However, I would like to review the good (and the "needs to be improved") aspects of the SCAT and CAT programs. I enrolled 2 children (ages 6 and 3) in the swim, tennis, arts and crafts camp for 4 weeks; however, we ended up deciding to pull out after 2 weeks. (SEE BELOW). The Club (and Mike who I believe runs the summer camp program) was very flexible and kindly refunded my money (they may been so accommodating because they were happy to see us go . . .I'll never know). PROS: The swimming pool and tennis courts are great. Kids have plenty of space to swim, dive off the diving boards and seem to enjoy the free time. Mike is very flexible and truly does want you to get the most of your experience. They were accommodating of adding private tennis lessons at the club during camp hours, adjusting timing on swim lessons etc. CONS: This is not a structured camp nor is this a camp where you send your kids for years. You need to stay on top of your children's activities to make sure they get tennis time, swim time etc. The arts and crafts were OK - but this is not the focus of the camp - so I was less fussed about this. My biggest complaint is that the camp counsellors were young and could have been a little more engaging. If you are looking for a safe place to send your children to swim and be outside for a couple hours every day, I would choose Jack Kraemer. ** We ended up pulling out because my 3 year old was having trouble settling in due to anxiety around her swim lessons. Evidently, the counsellors were annoyed and complained that she had a few accidents. My only real issue with this summer camp is that if you are going to take 3 year olds, your counsellors need to understand this might happen and not be sour about it. Otherwise, raise your minimum camper age. Being able to send both girls to the same camp was one of my primary requirements. We would have likely chosen Rolling Hills Country Day or another camp if I had known that the Jack Kramer Club is really better suited for 5+. read more

I grew up at this club in the late 70's and early 80's. What a thrill to go back with my son and see all the improvements and upgrades. It still has that family feel but you can feel the vibe of all the epic tennis played there past and present all around you. New tennis director Jeff Tarango was great in setting my son up with practice matches while we were in town. He understands tennis at the highest levels and was a great influence on the kids. And court 1 (formerly court 11) is still the best practice court with its one corner slanted to funnel the balls down for easier pick up! I have been a member for 17 years and now am on the board. It is a wonderful, small, family-equity-owned tennis club with a history of producing amazing tennis players! The dues are the lowest of all the clubs and yet, they still have great facilities. They have both USTA and Marine Leagues, a top-notch kids program, Jr. Guard training, swim lessons, kids summer camps and there are only 254 memberships! While I am sorry Catleen's review is so awful, I cannot fathom the treatment she received from anyone at the front desk! All our staff have been there for so many years, some almost 28!, that it is their 2nd home and as such, everyone is very friendly and courteous! The club hosts high level competitive tournaments, including the Woody Hunt, the Collegiate Invitational, and are currently bringing a new GM into the family fold so we can expand all our opportunities to our membership. read more

This is one of our family's favorite places to be. What I like most is that my kids have met some similar aged friends to hang out with at the club. They can join in on a workout, arrange match play or go swimming. Smoothies from the cafe are good too! I just wish they had a jacuzzi. Maybe that's in the works! read more

Horrible experience. I decided to take my kids here for the summer only because it is close to my house. Some of the instructors are really good. Unfortunately, the people at the front desk and the coordinators do not return your call, will not pass on messages or help schedule lessons. The price is high and the service is really bad. This is my 2nd home! The staff are so friendly, the front desk greets you by name, the snack bar remembers my special ordering, the maintenance guys say hi when you walk past. Its lovely and clean and the new management are sprucing things up, decorating for seasonal events and organizing tennis parties. The teaching pro's are very qualified, and the kids camps are full of happy players at all hours. The Marine League women's teams are very competitive in the league, and the USTA team offerings vary from season to season. The pool is huge and kids are splashing and laughing for hours on end. The swim programs are well attended and the summer camps have a waiting list! This is a great place to enjoy your family and community! read more

We love Jack Kramer Club. My kids enjoy the SCAT summer camp and swimming lessons. Perfect place for a birthday party, with catering available. The food is wonderful. You can take advantage of many of the programs without having to be a member, although once you try it you may want to become a member. New management has been extra helpful and accommodating. My kids love the SCAT summer camp at Jack Kramer club! It is always the highlight of their summer and they love to play tennis and swim. It is really wonderful that they allow all kids to enroll in the summer camp, even if you are not a member. The counselors are so nice and they make my kids feel so welcome. The swim lessons at the camp have been so amazing and of all the places we have taken lessons, SCAT camp at Jack Kramer has been the best. Really a fun camp and is always my kids favorite place to be in the summer! read more
