These companies' credit card processors are often broken and rarely work, especially at the car wash. All the equipment is very old and does not work. Cheap equipment, and it just becomes frustrating. They seem not to care about customer experience and want to go the cheap route on what they do. The car wash is just cheap equipment and more frustrating than convenient. The rates for the hand car wash are also more expensive and start at $8 for 6 minutes. If they had new equipment, most companies start at 4 minutes and allow the user to keep using it until they want to stop. Sucks to have a handcarwash so close, and it's so bad. Dar. The gas station itself has the same issue with credit card processing at the pump, which often breaks down. They are the highest prices for fuel. You can go down the hill and get much lower gas prices. Again, my complaint is more that it sucks to have this type of company close by that you would love to support, but are terrible at all they do. Quality/Quantity - Was my favorite gas station as a kid, not sure why, maybe because my dad told me it was the best... They also have a Krispy Krunchy Chicken inside, but I have not tried it yet. Atmosphere - Local gas station with a convenience store. Galena car wash next door, not sure if it is the same owner. Service - Self service, so great Almost no one ever here, so it's also great. My Shell station down the block is starting to get busy, so might start shopping here instead. Price - Above average, but you pay for convenience. They have a lot of candy bars to choose from :) The crowd that stops in here seems to be a different type of crowd from the Maverik crowd just down the street and also the Raley's area crowd...not like that even matters at all. I've run by this store a hundred times but never stopped in. To be honest I was only curious to see the Krispy Crunchy Chicken place that everyone has been talking about nonstop. The car wash has something wrong every time I go. (It takes me several months in between visits.) This time, the only option working was high pressure soap. The machine refused to stop when I pushed the stop button. All other stalls were full, so I had to leave with dried soap on my car. There was no number to call, nor any sign stating who to contact for issues. I got home and looked up that the car wash was run by the gas station. I called and was told I had to come back for a refund since they had no access to anything car wash. Don't waste your time or money here at the car wash. read more

There was a time when I would've given this place 5 stars. They carry some pretty delicious hot food items, like really good fried chicken and breakfast burritos. They always have a nice variety of hot, fresh coffee along with hot chocolate and flavored lattes and creamers. I used to stop at least once a week for their muy delicioso chorizo breakfast burrito. One day I went in and they didn't have any chorizo burritos. I inquired about it and they said that the manager decided not to carry them anymore. While I was in there another customer asked about the chorizo burrito as well. Seems it was a popular item with the early morning peeps. There were times when this burrito would be sold out before I could get there so I was surprised that they stopped carrying it. Fast forward a few weeks and lo and behold, my glorious burrito was back! Once again I became a regular breakfast customer. They recently were doing construction so no hot food items were available for a couple of weeks. I go in this morning, ready for my yummy chorizo and guess what?! Yep, the manager has decided not to carry it again! Hey, I get that things change but this is ridiculous, one day you carry a popular item, then you drop it, then people ask for it back and you carry it again, then you drop it again. Sheesh! Make up your mind. I had a choice between a steak burrito and a three meat. I chose the three meat and, to be frank, it tastes like dog food. As far as a gas station and small market go - this is exactly what you want. I grade this gas station down one star for difficulty manuvering based on the weird driveway placement. Exiting is tricky - especially because I am usually in a large vehicle headed up the hill to go snowboarding. The coffee is always hot and fresh - which is great on cold mornings headed up Mt. Rose highway. I also give this place credit because it has gas pumps which are friendly to motorcycles. I can't use the pressure sensitive pumps on the motorcycle and having an option of a gas station at the base of the mountain is great. I can go for a long ride and then fill up before heading home or make sure i'm topped off before heading over the hill. I also think the car wash is a great bonus. Easy to get the road grime off before heading home for the night. read more

Perhaps the cleanest and tightest high end gas station in area. Wow - clean tubs of fresh blue window washing fluid (not the dirty water of so many other places around). Great whimsical architecture amidst an area of beautiful trees. The pumps are strong and clean and all work. Old school 76. Yes the advertisement sound should be muted down. read more

This place is an institution (at least for us Tahoe folks who go back and forth from Reno). It's the last stop for cheap(er) gas before you hit the resort prices up in Tahoe. The bathroom is clean. You can get everything from road trip snacks to Band-aids and tire chains and hit the car wash and fill up gas. It's open REALLY late, possibly even 24 hours. read more

I usually come here for a quick stop. The things I come here are for gas, snacks, or to switch out a propane tank. The people that work here are always different. I dont know if I've ever seen the same person when in here. Yet, they all are always nice and able to help me. Sometimes, its a pain in the butt for them to stop what they are doing, and go outside to switch the propane tank, but they all seem to have a good attitude about it. I've never had an outstanding experience here, but never a bad one read more

A cute above average mart with all the basic supplies, and a small slot machine area (now with a player's club ) I miss the seating/eating area they used to have inside. THE most annoying place to buy gas!! Very intrusive blaring commercials with a TV Screen on every pump. Prices are fairly high, and doing the credit card routine seems to require more steps than other places, I will never buy gas here again unless there is no choice. Weird because I'm a bit deaf, but nowhere near deaf enough. If I really want abuse, I'll call my cell phone company, although I'm sure my BP goes up farther at this hell hole. This place used to have really good pizza slices. Went there two weeks ago and the pizza slice was way over cooked and dried out. Today I was in the neighborhood and decided to try again hoping that was just a bad day. The slices were actually burnt, black carbon was all over top of all pieces. Didnt buy any as it was beyond dried out, unhealthy at worst, obviously these pieces are from another day, maybe several days. Health code violation? read more

Update: Now they offer bag your own pork rinds for a dollar, and and krispy krunchy chicken and shrimp. Hot dogs! They have great hotdogs here. Plus egg rolls, chicken tenders, and other snacks. Good selection of items, and seasonal supplies for travelers headed up to Lake Tahoe. read more
