But I'm sure glad I found it when we visited Galena. The space is large, especially since the town is small. The staff are awesome, friendly, patient, efficient, and non-obstrusive. Their CORTADO is pretty good. Slightly tart. No complaints on the LEMONADE. MATCHA LATTE with Vanilla Syrup was okay. WiFi and bathroom available. read more

We walked in during a relatively slow period in their day (we were the only ones) and it took a while to get helped at the counter, which was pretty odd. The baristas weren't very friendly, which was striking to me. Otherwise, the dining space was clean and bright, with big windows and plenty of merchandise to peruse. Stopped here while shopping for a quick pick me up! There was a line so I knew this place had to be popular. The cashier was extremely friendly. The first thing about the store that stood out was the amount of flies they had around. They were crawling all over the walls, signs and tables. They took our orders quickly and got our drinks right away. Someone in my group ordered a chai latte which was literally steamed milk and had barely any spice to it. After moving to Galena we set out to find coffee. It is a nice to see that this town does not have a lot of commercial stores but tends to cater to the small business person. Our first day at getting coffee at Galena Roasters was a fun experience, we met Adam who was just the most welcoming and great guy at the coffee shop. When he learned that we were new to town he very nicely told us something nice fun facts and made nice conversation. Whenever we need coffee we always go there. Overall, the place was _fine_. Quick and friendly service and a big menu to choose from! I got a hot latte and it was HOT. Too hot. I also think they over steam the milk to the point where it sort of ruins the espresso and breaks down the milk. My partner got an iced chai latte I believe which was fine as well. I think it might have been a bit too sweet but otherwise ok. Something i enjoy is latte art, which this places (along with most other coffee shops in Galena simply don't do). No big deal, just something I noticed. If you want something quick, this is the place, but not sure I would recommend to get a GREAT latte or anything. read more

Not a bad place. I got a caramel latte and chai latte. The chai latte was a little on the sweet side for me, but my companion enjoyed the caramel latte quite a lot. I also picked up a maple bar here, because I almost never see them in Illinois (at least not with a slice of bacon on top, ew). It's a very large space, with some small tables and standing bar areas. They also sell coffee so if you like it pick up a bag or two! Staff could have been a bit friendlier, but oh well. read more

It's pleasing to know that you don't always have to buy online. Of course they have their roasted coffee for purchase! The handcrafted drinks you get are reasonably priced and QUALITY. Best coffee shop in Galena! We went here everyday of our stay. We tried Bakehouse as well and it did not compare in our book. Galena Roasters also opens earlier in the morning before the others, which is greatly appreciated. We had the flat white, caramel macchiato (less sweet), toasted coconut (hot &cold- less sweet) and light brew coffee. All well made and smooth. We've been to Galena several times and always stop at Trolley for coffee, but we were excited to try this new coffee shop. It did not disappoint! We went twice! I regretted not buying a bigger sized vanilla latte. The flavors were perfect, the coffee came through effortlessly, and the prices were also great. The coffee was good. I just ordered regular coffee so I don't know what kind it was. The food, however left a lot to be desired. The "deli sandwiches" were pre made. My husband had an egg, bacon and cheese croissant which they heated for him. It was so so. He ordered a jelly filled donut that he said tasted like it was several days old. I ordered a turkey sandwich with cheese, lettuce and tomato. The lettuce was quite wilted and the tomato had obviously been on the sandwich for awhile. I'm guessing that the sandwich was made several days prior. I also ordered a raspberry scone which was just okay. I had coffee, my husband had a strawberry milk and a Diet Coke.
