Drinks were good and so were the muffins. I placed a mobile order 25 minutes in advance and said it was going to be ready at 11:05 and we didn't end up getting there till 11:10. Upon walking in, nothing was ready and the order wasn't started and they said it was going to be a 10 minute wait. The 2 employees were friendly and prices were fair. We weren't happy with our drinks but would be willing to try again. Husband ordered a featured cinnamon eggnog drink, I ordered an iced caramel macchiato. Staff was overheard debating how to make husband's drink, unsure if the recipe used cinnamon despite cinnamon being in the name. The drink did not turn out well but we didn't feel comfortable asking for it to be remade after they weren't sure how to make it anyways. Caramel Macchiato was okay, I'd probably not order it again but nothing noteworthy about it. It's a very cozy lounge with couches and tables to wait for your drink or sit and enjoy. I ordered the Java chip because I normally get a Java chip Frappuccino at Starbucks, but this was thicker and more chocolatey, which was quite delicious! read more

I stopped in here yesterday with my parents for some lattes to warm us up as we trudged through the snow around Galena. We went with the gingerbread lattes and they were really quite tasty. Such a cute little coffee shop on Main St in Galena. The have a nice selection of tea , coffee , refreshers and baked items. Went there twice during our stay in Galena and was happy with the drinks I ordered and their service. I had the cappuccino and the watermelon mint refresher and both were great . The refresher us perfect for the hot day. The cappuccino was delicious and aromatic . Didn't get a chance to try the baked goods but they all looked great. Great Ambiance, service, and food! The service was outstanding and so clean and plenty of room to sit down. The iced coffee Americano was perfect with just the right amount of flavor. Love that they have a couch you can sit and have a conversation with friend while you enjoy your coffee and breakfast pastry or sandwich. The owner saw us peeking in after they locked the door for the evening. As we walked on, he called us back. Brilliant! Because we've stopped in every day of our trip for the White (hot) Chocolate and the Peppermint (hot) Chocolate & the apple turnover (which my son declared perfect!). The staff is courteous and the prices are reasonable. We love it here and wish there were a Kaladi's in Chicago. read more

Galena Illinois is a very small tourist town with several coffee shops to choose from. Kaladi's is the absolute best. The coffee is amazing, the pastries are perfect and the owners are so wonderful. I seriously wouldn't bother going anyplace else while I'm Galena. Service is very fast and always with a couple of smiles. If you love coffee, you've GOT to try KALADI'S!! Kaladi's is a charming coffee shop nestled in the heart of the ever charming Galena, Il. Came here on our recent trip to Galena for morning coffee and cribbage. This is a great spot to linger over coffee. The shop itself is adorable with plenty of intimate table seating as well as some comfy sofa seating. There was a bit of a line when we entered, but the service is efficient so we moved through it quickly enough. They're a cash only joint (a bit inconvenient for those of us who pretty much never carry cash, which is most of us, amirite?). Their prices are reasonable and the service was friendly. The coffee itself was solid (not bad, but not mind-blowing either). If I were one to break things down--I'm not--but if I were, I'd say: Atmosphere: 5 stars Location: 5 stars Service: 4 stars Price: 4 stars Coffee: 3 stars Which works out to be an overall 4 star experience. We were in Galena for the Halloween Parade. Wanted a hot drink, I think it was only place near us open. We waited in a long line that the wonderful baristas kept moving right along. My husband and I each ordered the Caramel Apple Cider ..SOOOO delicious! I'm not a cider person but I didn't want coffee so late...I'm telling you...it was an exceptional treat!! I also would have loved to hear the story behind the cafe's name, but was told "I don't know, I'm not the owner" before flirting brushed off. What an adorable place! Loved the neat booths and couch areas. Guess they recently remodeled. Had the best veggie panini ever! Chewy bread with veggies, pickles and some lovely mayo concoction. Husbo had a different panini (with meat of some sort in it, of course) and he loved his too! I didn't personally taste the coffee, but several in our party had mocha's or the pumpkin spice latte and they thought they were great. They came in those cool ceramic bowl mugs with froth and whipped cream. I also tried one of their chocolate chip scones, which was super tender, yet solid. I am a scone snob and like mine on the sturdier side. (If you want an airy muffin, get one.) It was fantastic! They had three scone choices (they make them here), a couple different muffins and cookies. What more does anyone need? read more

I really enjoyed this place! Me and my boyfriend got to know Mitch while we were here and he was very nice. I loved the atmosphere. We love visiting local coffee shops and this was a really great experience. Plus, their blender is super nice. I've never had such amazingly blended coffee. Great place to grab a cup of coffee! My friends and I stopped into this place for a cup of coffee after a day of drinking at the winery. The ambiance was great as well as the attitudes of the 2 males employees. We later stopped in to use the restroom and was greeted by the owner Carmela. Nice coffee cafe, great decor, ample seating. They have table seating, booths, and couch/chairs for lounging. Very quick service and the quality was there. In any visit to a town, I am looking for the coffee. There are a couple of places in the area to choose from. I stopped in to get an iced mocha on a hot day. The service was fine and quick. The coffee was fine. They use the Torani's chocolate sauce. Nothing spectacular here, but good enough. Next time, I'll aim for one of the local coffee shops. This one, as others have mentioned, has a more commercial feel (reminds me of a place you might find in a mall or airport). read more
