After talking to a few different firms, Kanika Design just felt like the right fit. Kanika really listened to what we wanted. I've always been a bit nervous about using bold colors, but she pushed us (in a good way!) for a deeper color palette in the main living areas. It looks incredible. Kanika found us so many unique, high-quality furniture pieces that you just won't find at a big-box store. The biggest thing for us was logistics. Once the design process completed, their team handled everything - architectural, permit headache, and construction. Anyone who has done a remodel knows things never go 100% perfectly, but whenever an issue popped up, they were on top of it immediately. They kept the contractors moving and kept us updated on the budget and what was happening next. It's a relief to finally be done after 2 years and have a home that feels like us but way better. I can't recommend Kanika and her team enough. We're still obsessed with how everything turned out.

While I have always loved looking at home design stores and shopping for cool vintage pieces, I've never been able to tie entire spaces together in a cohesive way and thought hiring a designer would make sense. The thing I soon realized after talking to multiple design firms is that most of them only seem to care about two things: 1) your design budget and 2) your willingness to let them control construction work. And here's the thing, I get it. If I were an interior designer, I'd want someone to give me $10,000+ just for design and all the keys to the kingdom. It'd be easier for me. But I am not. I am just your average thirty-something who is finally establishing their first real entire house of their own, does not have an endless design budget, and actually wants to be actively involved in the process of remodeling. I wanted someone who I could bring a bunch of ideas to and guide me on what fits together and what doesn't, and teach me how to make a place feel like a beautifully tailored home as opposed to a hodgepodge of stuff that looks cool. Someone who could help keep me on track, troubleshoot problems, and weigh in on decisions. Enter Erin. Erin is like that one really kind and patient friend you always go to when you need someone to honestly and thoughtfully tell you what is gonna look good or not look good on you, or in this case, your home. She will never make you feel inferior for how much you are able to spend, or dumb for suggesting certain ideas. She is just gonna calmly talk you through figuring out all the thousands of small and large decisions that come along with a remodel so it's not quite so daunting and overwhelming. It is truly so much easier and so much more fun to have her on your team. She is currently based in Brooklyn and we are able to get a ton of work done through weekly virtual meetings. She offers different design hour packages that are flexible enough to meet whatever needs, budget, and degree of desire to be actively involved in the process you may have. I am using her for everything from interior design to exterior paint colors to weighing in on landscaping. So, please do not book up all her hours because I plan on using a lot of them. Once we finish each phase of the remodel, I'll update this review with pictures of the before and after.

She was responsive, calm and professional at all times during the challenging process of upgrading an older, historic property. The cost was high and I was hesitant initially, but all of her advice and instincts were spot on and got the house sold virtually immediately. Having done several renovations of older homes myself, I am completely in awe of speed with which she got this done. Thank you to Susie, Rolando and her entire team for their hard work, patience, and a job well done.

They were phenomenal! I was SO excited to see my Dad's beloved flat made as beautiful as could be - they did us proud! So much of the staging I have seen lately has been clunky and unattractive. Tad made our flat elegant and sleek and just so gorgeous! I had just been able to replace the old carpet (should not have looked old, but it did!) with sustainable waterproof cork that looks like white oak, and that was the perfect backdrop for their magic! I almost cried when I saw the pictures! The round mirror over the fireplace looks incredible! And we got a great price and a terrific new owner. Makes it bearable to let go when it all works out so well! Thank you Tad Biskup and GreenCouch.com!

The project is still in progress, but with three major rooms complete, we're convinced working with Samantha was one of the best decisions we've made during our home refresh. First, even though we've been home owners for a while and thought we knew what we were doing, Sam completely changed the way my wife and I think about paint. She asked thoughtful questions to understand how we wanted each room to feel, not just how we wanted it to look. The results have been remarkable. Our once-dark home office is now calm, bright, and inspiring to work in every day. She gently steered our preteen daughter away from indecision to a color that feels sophisticated, warm, and a perfect green that can flex with her changing moods. And our bathroom? She suggested colors that I never would have chosen myself, yet it's become a room visitors compliment all the time. Beyond paint, Samantha also gave us spot-on recommendations for our bedroom's curtains and lighting direction, helping us create a vision for the whole home instead of just choosing colors. She is thoughtful, collaborative, incredibly knowledgeable, and a genuine pleasure to work with. We can't wait to see the remaining rooms come together and recommend Samantha Moss without hesitation.

We loved partnering with Maureen on the design. She made the entire process feel seamless and stress-free, helping us bring our vision to life while elevating it in ways we couldn't have done on our own. For every decision, whether it was shower tiles or cabinetry wood, she presented us with a thoughtfully curated set of options, saving us from hours of researching online and in-store. She also provided invaluable guidance on where to invest and where to be more cost-efficient, all without ever compromising on quality. I also cannot emphasize enough how incredible Maureen's eye for design is along with her ability to tailor her recommendations and the design to your personal style and goals. During the renovation, we were traveling internationally and so Maureen managed the overall project, sharing regular updates and photos. We're incredibly grateful we trusted Maureen with our home and are thrilled (though not surprised) that the end result was perfect and exceeded all expectations. We recommend her without hesitation and would absolutely work with her again.

Often times, designers have the same "look" for multiple projects. Not Maureen - I could tell she chose finishes based on her client's preferences. Our late 1970s home was in dire need of new floors, interior doors, and an updated stair banister. Maureen suggested an initial walkthrough to ensure she would be a good fit. From the moment she showed up, I enjoyed being in her presence. The brief suggestions she made were in line with my ideas, and I knew I had to work with her. Maureen was mindful of our budget. She would always ask my opinion prior to sourcing design choices, even after I communicated that I had full trust in her. It was true collaboration. Maureen consistently stayed on top of timelines and would keep me updated in a timely manner. We enjoyed working with Maureen so much that we decided to add on a master bath remodel. I now get to wake up every morning in the beauty of our new home. I'm certain that this vision would not happen if it weren't for Maureen's talent. For me, having someone design your home isn't just about their skill and creativity, it also includes how they made you feel through the process. It doesn't get any better than working with someone who is honest, trustworthy, reliable, and talented.
