Mary transformed what could have been an overwhelming stroll into a curated, engaging, and educational experience. She guided us through a moveable story of Santa Fe: Native and Indigenous art galleries where we learned more about Santa Fe's history, an artist-in-residence home where we discovered how Canyon Road developed, and contemporary galleries where she introduced us to owners and working artists. Along the way, she also pointed out additional galleries, eateries, cafés, and gardens worth returning to--I took notes and can't wait to visit again. Mary was knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible, making the tour both interactive and accessible. She seemed to know everyone--every gallery owner we visited greeted her--which made us feel like we were walking in with a VIP or a local celebrity. As a matter of fact, I'd book this tour with Mary again on my next visit just to explore more galleries we didn't get to this time. The behind-the-scenes insights, personal introductions, and Mary's thoughtful curation elevated the entire experience and greatly reduced my FOMO. Booking the tour was seamless as well! The operators were a pleasure to work with, very responsive, and flexible in helping us arrange the experience. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to go beyond simply "looking at art" and really connect with the history, people, and culture of Canyon Road.

The Garden is a stunning, peaceful, and unique art installation. I've been fascinated with origami since I was a child and to see massive origami sculptures spread across the garden is so amazing. Each piece tells a beautiful story in front of the backdrop of the New Mexico landscape. I am so glad that I've been able to visit twice in the last month. I've had such a good time walking through the beautiful garden and listening to the large chimes on the trees and reading the pieces. There's also beautiful depiction of unfolded origami, which is so unique and stunning. If you make the stop, I recommend visiting the gift shop. They have tons of origami paper to choose from paper, crane decor, sculptures for purchase and paintings for purchase. I purchased one of their double happiness, double crane red T-shirts and it's a new favorite of mine.

Jose gave us a great tour, the food was great and the group was fantastic. Street Taco's, Enchilada's and a cup of Green Chilie, outstanding. Did I mention the Margaritas and Churro for desert..... Our guide, Jose, was absolutely phenomenal! He has so much knowledge of Santa Fe and the food scene, and you can definitely tell he is passionate about the cuisine there. He was extremely personable, funny, and was happy to answer any questions and tell us lots of stories! Really just an overall joy! It was also super fun that everyone in the group was visiting from out of town and many of us loved doing food tours in other cities so we got to swap food tour stories and whatnot. Here's a list of our stops and what we had: La Fogata Grill - taco and margarita Del Charro - enchilada with both sauces and margarita San Francisco St Bar and Grill - half of a green chili cheeseburger and margarita Senor Murphy Candymaker - various sweet treats Everything was absolutely phenomenal - I really can't pick a favorite dish because they were all so yummy. But the Del Charro meal convinced me to always order "Christmas" sauce the rest of my stay in Santa Fe. My favorite margarita was definitely the one at San Francisco! And also, there was one person in the group that didn't drink and they were very accommodating to give him some fancy mocktails instead of cocktails (or boring soda!). Thanks for making my birthday extra special with some fantastic bites and sips!

When I visited, they were featuring "roadside attractions," focusing on Route 66 and all the kitsch and neon found along the "mother road." They also had some abstract art called "Visions of America from New Mexico." Like many museums I've visited in the Southwest and west, they had a "selections from the 20th century collection," which focused on cowboys, Mexican and southwestern motifs, and livestock. Along similar lines, they had a room on Paul Burlin, "An American Modernist in the Southwest." I've included photos of some of his beautiful, colorful work. They had a great pottery exhibit. It wasn't just any type of pottery. A lot of it had modern design (like one pot had Osama bin Laden on the side and George Bush on the other, to capture the feeling of 9/11). They also had "visions of America from New Mexico," which is a contemporary/modernist exhibit. I can't remember my cost, but I feel like it was around 12 bucks or so and was good for this museum as well as the contemporary museum. Also nice and cool inside on a hot day!

One that we had heard a few times about was the gingerbread contest at the cultural center. We had been here briefly a couple years ago and had vowed to come back, so this seemed like an excellent reason. We arrived in the mornign and there were plenty of people there lready. The front had the contest. There were dozens of gingerbread creations. A fella there gave us a clipboard so we could all judge and pick our favorites from different categories. After we spent time appreciating the artistic creations, we went ahead and checked out the center as well There were plenty of rooms with artifacts, video displays, and historical breakdowns of the many Pueblos around New Mexico. We learned a lot that day. I'm proud of my family, being inquisitive and appreciating the many people of the New Mexico tribes that day. It's a fun museum to pop into.
