The Garden is a stunning, peaceful, and unique art installation. I've been fascinated with origami since I was a child and to see massive origami sculptures spread across the garden is so amazing. Each piece tells a beautiful story in front of the backdrop of the New Mexico landscape. I am so glad that I've been able to visit twice in the last month. I've had such a good time walking through the beautiful garden and listening to the large chimes on the trees and reading the pieces. There's also beautiful depiction of unfolded origami, which is so unique and stunning. If you make the stop, I recommend visiting the gift shop. They have tons of origami paper to choose from paper, crane decor, sculptures for purchase and paintings for purchase. I purchased one of their double happiness, double crane red T-shirts and it's a new favorite of mine.

Cerrillos Station offers a bit of everything for everybody!…read more It's a big store with various rooms, convenience store, art gallery, bookstore (they offer some free books), yoga studio and so on. They have nice art on display, high quality souvenirs (got a nice Christmas ornaments since I love to buy them in my travels), home decor, jewelry, kitchen gadgets, food, drinks, baking mixes. So if you need a break from the road, this cool stores offers many things, a cool drink, a gift for somebody, a bite to eat, a souvenir. They also have nice restrooms, free filtered water (cold!), nice customer service. So if you are in Cerrillos, the Station is a nice store to check out!

The originals paintings by Ms Schwaiko are all expensive (for us) but the prints are much more reasonable and reachable. The person we were visiting in NM had a print and it is stunning. I loved the sculptures the most. Small as well as some quite large ones displayed in the back garden. We picked up a small sculpture that we could not resist. Jane Cassidy, an artist whose work is displayed in the gallery as well, was very gracious and friendly to us. She showed us around the gallery and spoke about Jill's work extensively. We did not know she was one of the artists having a work displayed there until I mentioned how much I liked a piece in the window on the way out of the gallery, LOL. A piece that was very tempting as well. Madrid is well worth a visit if you are in NM, and the Indigo gallery should definitely be visited.

The tour meet up is right in the Old Town area, which itself is nice. We booked ours in the early evening so partway through it became night for some of the places we toured through. It included great historic stories of not only the town, but the ghost stories that folks have experienced over the decades+. If puns and bad jokes are your thing, these two do it well. And they're my thing so I had fun throwing a few at them myself (which I've allowed them to add to their speeches if they feel the need to). All in all, recommended experience for fellow ghost hunters, fans of tours and a good time.

Seftel Gallery is an immersive contemporary art space and working studio located inside a historic…read more1880s adobe compound. Aside from the nearby cafe, it might have been one of the only places open in Cerrillos when I stopped in for a visit. I had a nice chat with Paul Seftel about his work in particular and our shared love of travel in particular. I found his paintings to be intriguing, but with an already full (and recently supplemented with Australian Aboriginal Art) wall at home, a purchase may have to wait until our own gallery undergoes a future rotation.
