We were greeted by mark when we arrived. We discussed what we were looking for and Mark walke u through our options, then trook he time o walk us through how he chair works. ew agreeed on. model, color snd delivery options. The chair showed up at the agreeed time. the delivery guys assisted us with rearranging the existing furniture. Well this is not for the average family, that's for sure. Unless you are there to get snacks then sure , you're in the right place. Chip, cookies, popcorn, water, it's all there. And some really cool visual displays, even a big fish tank with sharks yes, I'm still talking about Gallery Furniture, and plenty of bathrooms. They definitely have a target demo, which I am not a part of. I'm glad we went, but there is no need to go back. At least in my humble opinion. On Tuesday July 7th, my wife and I, had a a solid wood hand made Amish king size bedroom set, along with a temper Simmons Beauty Rest black pillow top king sized mattress delivered to us. From the first minute we visited the store in Richmond Texas we were greeted with a smile from Steve. He was patient and knowledgeable about all of the products we looked at . He wasn't pushy and was able to read our body language when we needed some private time to discuss the purchase. My wife and I are salt of the Earth blue collar workers who have spent the last 20 plus years putting the 8 children we raised before us. This would be the first complete bedroom set we've owned, not to mention of this quality and craftsmanship. It all felt self indulgent. When working out the details, we were thinking about hiring movers to help us move what we currently have to other bedrooms, upstairs no less. A huge task for us alone at 50+. We were delighted to find out that with our delivery, the crew would help us move furniture around as well as take away old stuff at no cost! Value added. We walked away that night feeling confident we made a great choice in purchasing American made products that would be passed down to our grandchildren. We also felt proud to be supporting Mac as he supported Houston. We grew up with Mac. Watching him every Sunday morning, on Channel 39, during local wresting!! So, when my wife got a personalized message from Mattress Mac, about how valued we are and reaffirming the commitment that we had made a great purchase we were both tickled! We felt our business is appreciated. It's been a long time since we felt appreciated. The day of the delivery, Tino and Yanir were nothing but amazing. They moved everything around, the furniture had been immaculately wrapped and protected. We had intended to vacuum where the furniture had been moved while they were going back and forth, but one of them vacuumed for us, we didn't even ask. We have never smelled fresh wood furniture in our room, that was a shock. The mattress has been great, the furniture looks, feels, and even smells wonderful. People say shopping at GF is expensive. Maybe a few years ago, I might've agreed. But now when you go to even Rooms To Go Outlet in Katy. What's a "good deal" is still a poorly painted finished piece of furniture that's still assembled as if you were go to an Ikea. I try not to mention other brands in my reviews but with furniture- you kind of have to do some of that comparison. Bought some multi-piece furniture sets for the kids. Very reasonably priced for solid wood. Keep in mind there's other places with faux wood vs. solid. Solid wood is really where it's at for the purpose of noise reduction and quality paint or other finishes you need to have that only come with that material. That being said it's roughly the same price when you go to other places. What you're paying for in addition is the service. These people will help re-arrange furniture, take away old furniture pieces, and actually be there the same day. Highly professional. What I was very surprised was that Mack himself called that weekend to check to see if everything went the way we wanted. I mean, give it up to this dude. 30+ years and while I know he'll won't be around forever. I hope his children or whomever takes the helm will continue to provide that service to customers and to the Houston-wide community. Outside of this, I will say the only down side to GF is the modern or contemporary look isn't there for alot of their styles in the show rooms. Over time they've got more modern pieces here and there; but it's mostly a traditional american style product set here. If you are going for the LA penthouse vibe; this probably isn't the place to shop. Although- it's probably one of the most unique furniture places to shop. Who else has a museum of different American history around with a giant fountain inside and events for kids? If you don't want to shop there, at least go in there and check that out. DO NOT BUY FROM GALLERY FURNITURE - BIGGEST SCAM EVER! I spent over $20,000 on furniture from Gallery Furniture, thinking I was investing in quality products and customer service. On top of that, I purchased warranties for every item to protect my investment. But let me tell you--the moment you actually need to use that warranty, they will do everything in their power to make you give up. I have been given the complete runaround, jumping through hoops, following every single requirement they throw at me--only to be met with more delays, more excuses, and zero real help. It is SO obvious that they are just trying to wear me down so I walk away from my claim. This is a blatant scam, and they have no intention of honoring their warranties. What makes this even worse? I also purchased furniture for my elderly parents--and I can only imagine the nightmare they would go through if they ever needed assistance. No customer should ever be treated like this, especially after spending thousands of dollars. Before visiting Gallery I had gone to several different furniture stores in Katy to weigh my options on buying a new bed. As soon as I walked into Gallery I was greeted at the door and I was so very glad that the sales guy told me about their products, their store and he asked me what I wanted, pointed me in the direction and let me have at it! Our shopping experience at Gallery was excellent. We came to look at Gallery's two recliners for the price of one. My husband has issues with walking so I came in the store first to see if Gallery furnished their customers with scooters. I was greeted at the door by Kong and he came out with a powered scooter. Kong helped my husband get settled in the scooter and then took us back to the section of recliners. Kong is an excellent salesman, no pressure. Gallery has many recliners to choose from and my husband found the one that fit him. The price was somewhat more than we wanted to pay but the price did include two recliners. We decided we needed to discuss this future purchase so went left the store and went next door for lunch. After discussing, we decided to purchase the recliners and add a matching Sofa, also. We agreed that the quality of the furniture was worth the price. It was late in the afternoon so we scheduled delivery the next day. The delivery was excellent with the delivery team calling to confirm their arrival time, and they arrived on time. They carefully set up the furniture and placed the furniture where we wanted. They were the best delivery guys we have seen. Later we received a phone call from Mac to follow-up on our satisfaction with our purchase and delivery. Had a good experience with this company when I was shopping for my own house... we have over 5,000 sq ft of our newly built home to furnished. However, I won't be buying for my home here because of the experience I had when trying to buy Furniture for my group home. I opened a youth group home for foster kids which houses 24 kids. I was told by the community to go to Matress Mack for twin mattresses. Mack told me he was unable to help me due to us not being a non-profit. Was extremely disappointed. Wouldn't even offer us a discount on 24 twin mattresses. If you're giving things away for the betterment of the community... why does it matter if you write it off? Anywho I called Nebraska Furniture Mart (owned by Warren Buffett... Star Furniture), they offered me a huge discount so that's where we ended up getting the mattresses from. Of course we still need dining room Furniture and bedroom end tables etc and we will more than likely be patronizing NFM again since they wanted to help. More than 30,000 kids in foster care and many of them don't have foster families... we as a community can help. But I guess Gallery wasn't interested. Super disappointed. read more

What we like and what we are looking for. He really worked with us to get what we wanted for our living. My husband and I are very satisfied with the sofa. In the picture, the 2 single chairs were perfect size & it matched the others. These were custom only bc they didn't have the same color as the sofa but he accommodated us. The lounge chair was made for the left side, but he was able to get it to the right side so it can fit in our living. In addition, we got free delivery. My purchase, delivery and even hearing from Mac with a customer satisfaction follow up call... all has been perfect until today! I purchased a living room set for a spare living room upstairs that was empty, so the set was not ever used until we decided to move the same set to our vacation home where it would be useful. The sofa, ottomans and oversized chair have been in use a couple of times a month, only for 7 months, and has lost its shape and is frayed along the edges... we are so disappointed. I contacted Gallery and they shared that manufacturers warranty was only good for a year and all they can do is offer me new fabric that I can purchase at cost!!! We are just so surprised that Gallery could not help us further... we literally just paid that set off a month ago! read more

This location just opened about 1 month ago, with 2 prior "soft opening" months. All of the furniture is made in America, which is super cool. The floor staff were very helpful and friendly, no pushy or high pressure sales techniques here. Some highlights: Theater room with vibrating moving couches to experience movies in another dimension. Air conditioned(!) central courtyard/atrium with plants and capuchin monkeys as well as exotic birds. Bed "trampoline" area where kids can play and jump around. Went with intention of looking at a sofa sleeper, however when we arrived, they had a special going on and I started wandering. The salesman, Kong was very kind and showed us the layout of the showroom (which is huge) and then let us wander. He would check on us, but never pressured us. We ended up purchasing a 3 piece living room set and are very happy. We could have had it delivered that same day but we asked for the next day so we could move things around, since we were now getting more than I had originally planned. Be advised folks, Gallery Furniture will deliver you defective furniture and according to them, YOU HAVE NO RECOURSE. We bought 10K worth of furniture during the super bowl sale. They delivered at 11:30 pm on Saturday night, forgot one of the arm rests for the couch so we had to wait 3 days to get it. But that was not the real issue or problem. Turns out the recliner chair that was delivered in the 3 piece setup that we bought, has defective or damaged memory foam in one of the arms. It creates a divot, something you would expect to see after years of use? Having discovered this the next day, super bowl Sunday, we called Gallery and was told we needed to call back on Tuesday when Service was open. Note this chair was the only item that arrived with no product details attached to it: manufacture cards, warranty card etc. We called service back and was told they would first have to have their 3rd party service come out and see the chair. Weeks later, they arrived with a bag of "poly foam" to attempt the fix. The service person realized that there was no "poly foam" and that the damage was in the memory foam of the right arm. He took 3 pictures. He said he had no memory foam and that he COULD take the chair apart to see the actual damage, but the chair would not look "factory" after that. I told him my preference was that we just get the chair replaced, since he could verify the damage. He said he would report his findings to Gallery. Also be prepared to have the service person talk to you about his Christianity and hand you a religious pamphlet! Days later and not hearing anything from Gallery I called and was told several things: 1.) first, we did not buy the extended warranty. 2.) that according to the sale, it was an as is no return final sale. This also meant no exchange for delivered and received damaged goods. 3.) that they were told by the 3rd party repair service, that we refused any repair. We did because he did not the correct foam nor could he re-assemble the chair correctly. So there you have it folks, be aware that other than a lawsuit, you have no recourse against Gallery furniture when they intentionally and knowingly deliver damaged furniture to you, as new! read more

Went back to buy a few pieces last night. Tried to haggle on the price but wasn't aggressive at all. Apparently they weren't willing to haggle on an out the door price where I was trying to get them to eat the delivery fee. Salesman said that they simply wouldn't do it, no counter offer, nothing. Looking at their website (which is pretty painful to look at), they have numerous promotions for a free $100 gift card. I mean, I guess we should have looked first and used one of those but the fact that the salesman didn't think to apply one or try something to salvage the sale. I do appreciate getting the furniture the same day and I do appreciate the quality, but for kids furniture... meh. Went across the street to Exclusive Furniture and found a really cute set that my daughter really loved. Yeah, it's going to take 3 weeks to get here but they gave us a great deal by taking care of the tax and taking an additional 15% off. We visited this location not to long ago. Although selection was great. Since Harvey were having to replace most of our furniture. We decided to come here since Mac helped so many. We would return the favor and spend our money here. The store is beautiful... But customer service is very bad. No one greeted us or tried to help in any way. Being we was there and walked the whole store while checking out and trying furniture throughout. We were probably there a good 4-5 hours. Watch most employees sitting around or walking around talking to other employees or on their phones. Customers were milling around the store and not many was seen greeted. We did find many items but did not purchase anything. Since employees were more interested in there social life than customers. Very disappointed in our visit tonight. We are shopping for a recliner with heat and massage. I've had 6 major back surgeries and a total of 7 discs replaced so the heat and massage is very important to me. Update: Gallery Furniture picked up our table, filled the cracks, and sealed the table so no further cracks would form. It looks much better and we are pleased they fixed it! Still is a lot to pay for a table that we had to have fixed in two years, so not sure if we would buy more pieces from here in the future, but glad they made this situation right. We have bought several pieces from this location over the years and always liked the quality & customer service, but after our latest experience I am less than pleased. We bought a wooden coffee table 2 years ago that has started to separate on top in 4 different places, some cracks are so large that food can fit through them. Unsatisfied with the quality, I called Gallery Furniture and asked what could be done. They said to email pictures and I would get a response in 2-3 days. I waited 6 days and never received a response, so I emailed again. I waited another 2 days with no response and called again. I spoke to someone who said she would call me back because "She was the only one working service & Mack doesn't like to see the phone lines lit up." Maybe hire more people so that isn't an issue? I finally told it is a "seasonal split" that happens with real wood furniture and there is nothing they could do except send a technician to fill the cracks. I explained that would not look good, and asked what else could be done. I was told she could talk to her manager to see what else could be done and would call me the next. Other furniture stores, such as The Dump, whose furniture had issues, ended up giving us some money back for the issue. Hoping Gallery makes this situation right. If so, I will amend this review. If not, we will no longer be customers because quality furniture should not come apart and I should not have to keep emailing and calling in order to get a response. But, the staff & personal at Gallery is just outstanding and friendly and willing to work with you on your purchase! I had an office chair that I bought back in September of '21 along with Recliner. And just recently the office chair just snapped in two! I took the to Grand Parkway location and they told me that I had to call service desk at Gallery Furniture located at I-45 between Tidwell & Parker! Anyway to make a long story short, they came out to Katy, got my chair repaired it (better than ever) and returned it to me on Sunday night. I walked into gallery furniture yesterday alone( I am an AA female) with the intent to purchase either leather sofas or sectional. I was greeted at the door by a salesman that walked with me to where the leather sofas are located within the store. Interestingly, while making our way to the seats I was interested in, he asked me where I worked. I honestly thought this was very odd as I wasn't applying for in-house credit or implied that was my intention. But she was surprisingly pleasant about the entire ordeal and didn't mind doing the paperwork all over again due to me being indecisive.
