The owner, Tim, was super helpful and the rooms were a combination of physical and mental challenges.

Zee was amazing, helped me booked my nephews bday adventure to end his special day with a mystery…read more Zee was super friendly, great customer service, explained everything thoroughly and even though we didn't solve the mystery we booked another adventure because of the great experience we had with both staff- Zee and the facility. Things that would've helped improved our experience would've been a better working lock as the letter lock was stuck even after inputting the correct letter combo snake. We were told "do not use excessive force" in the directions and it turned out after 20 additional minutes trying different alternative codes asked for a clue and found out we had the correct code but "didn't pull hard enough" to unlock it. Also Better ventilation as it was hot in the escape room and better lighting, it was pretty dark and we had to take out our phones and use our flashlights

My girlfriend and I did our first red door experience at Emeryville - Survive. Having done multiple…read morerooms with the red door at San Mateo, we came with high expectations. Boy, was this a let down. First of all, the game started 15 minutes after we arrived (8:10, started around 8:30), we were told to just wait outside without any explanation on what we are waiting for or how long we would have to wait for. Second of all, the game master couldn't be less engaged with introducing us to the room. It's the equivalent of just telling us to "escape" the room. There's no story, no background on the room, it's just escape... Lastly (not sure if the person came to get us is the same game master), the game master that greeted us after we finished were also less than enthusiastic when showing us the puzzles we "skipped" because of the supposedly linear non-linear puzzles. Without going into details, 2 of the puzzle are completed without going in the correct order, which made some of the clues red herrings. Not the same caliber as other red rooms we have attended, pretty boring to be honest.

We had a fantastic time at the Red Door Borderlands themed escape room!…read moreJulian introduced the room to my group of 4 and did a great job of setting the stage. The room was AMAZING if you are a fan of Borderlands, but still really fun as a regular escape room if you aren't (2 people in our group didn't really play Borderlands, but still had a wonderful time!). NO SPOILERS, don't worry! The puzzle was considered a 6/10 on the difficulty scale, but we just wanted to have a good time with friends, so that was perfect! We had 4 adults, but I think kids would really like this room too! It starts out a little dark, so using your phone flashlight is DEFINITELY allowed, but the puzzles were so fun, and there were hints everywhere to find, exactly like an escape room should be! Thanks for the fun birthday experience, Julian and Red Door!

We escaped!! I did…read moremy first escape room with Red Door and I feel it set the bar really high for other escape rooms. It's really well produced and a lot of fun! I really like the TV screens that offer hints, let you know when you're close, or tell you when you're super off-base. I also like that they let you choose if you want that. My husband and I did the Last Stop room for a date night and it was such a fun way to mix things up from dinner and movie. Then my kids became obsessed with escape rooms, so we did the Fair Game with 5 adults + 2 kids. We asked for unlimited clues and were able to escape with some help on the tougher puzzles.
