Out of the 6 ps2 games I had bought from them only 2 ever worked but the disks had no scratches and when questioned on if they buff and test the games they where able to confirm that they did run the disks though a machine to clean the disks but no testing is done afterwards so a majority of the games will never play or be able to read at all due to them over buffing and polishing the data away. The return policy is a bit scummy and you cannot return the items for cash unless it's on the same day and even then I'm sure they would try to just give you store credit. The customer service isn't bad at all they answered my questions and apologized for most of the games if bought not working the prices are indeed a bit high but I think it's cause they are in a collage town and everything here is more expensive though I will say the prices of consoles is fair for the current prices of systems I purchased a Wii U 2 weeks ago for 149.99 with the system cables and gamepad it was in good condition and they even let me compare the different ones they had in stock to find out which one was in better condition with a quick google search most prices where around $50 more then what they had read more

No wonder no one has claimed this business--although it has a pretty good selection of old consoles, games and accessories, the good games are just way overpriced. I checked on eBay after going there and could find cheaper games, which is too bad since it could be a cool place where I'd enjoy going, chilling and gaming with the staff. When I went there, they had seven copies of Mario 64 up on the fancy shelf where they put all the good games and still asked $30 for it, as a *sale* because they had so many. I managed to sell three games there for $8 in store credit, but the next time I went there with 3 other games to sell and the employee offered me 97 cents in store credit. Finally, they're always playing what I can only supposed is the gaming radio, which seems to consist of a young woman shrieking about Luigi. Got a PS2 at a garage sale but it didn't come with any games. Stopped by Game World and picked up a few worth $30 total. Went to Walmart and did some shopping, got home, popped in the game, found out the PS2 didn't work. Took the games back 3 HOURS LATER (there wasn't even a staff change yet) and the manager claimed that I could either do an in store credit or they could refund me via mail (which everyone knows means "go fuck your self") What am I supposed to do with an instore credit if I don't have a system to play on? I grudgingly opted with the refund via mail. 2 weeks go by... Nothing 4 weeks go by... Nothing (At this point I go back in and see what's going on. The manager says "ohh wow that's strange... Here, let me take care of it..." 5 weeks go by... Nothing 6 weeks go by....Nothing (Now I've nearly forgotten they even owe me money --which I think is the point--, I went back in and the dude at the counter finds my file, says that the manager mailed my check apparently, and a nice hearty "sorry"...) Here we are at 7 god damned weeks. N o t h I n g. All ya had to do was just give me the cash right then and there. Was that SOOO hard? read more

I can't vouch for any items. However I'm giving an A+ for customer service. My partner and I live out of state. My mom wanted to buy my bf a gift card for Christmas. She confused game world with game stop. Obviously this is a locally owned store and there are no game worlds in our area. The owner graciously fully returned my mom's money due to my mom's mistake. This place is what Game Stop wants to be. If it's a video game or video game accessory they sell it. From Atari to Xbox One and every console in between. Just what every you do, please don't treat the store like it's a pawn shop. Also never question the staff on their video game knowlege. Whether they actually know more than you or not they will at least act like they do. read more

Absolutely the worst place to buy video games! Everything is grossly overpriced, they pay you a few cents for a game and then turn around and slap a "collectible" price tag on it and sell it for $80. The return policy is a joke and they won't stand behind the products that they sell and claim have been rigorously tested. Best of all the managers are rude, pompous, and condescending, they talk down to you, talk over the top of you while you're trying to explain something, they're arrogant and will blatantly tear you down and tell you you're wrong when they think they know better. I thought the idea when running a local business was to be better than everyone else when you're competing against large corporations, Gameworld fails at this in every respect. I wish I could give a lower rating. If anyone can find the corporate information, Please let me know. My daughter purchased a system from the Bedford location. At the time of purchase, she also purchased a six month warranty. She was told when it was purchased that she would not need a receipt for returns because the warranty would be in their computer system and she could get a replacement or her money returned in the event of a problem with the gaming system. When she hooked it up the system it wouldn't work, she called that night and a male told her they had some in stock and they would replace it and to bring it in the next day. She took the gaming system in the next day to the Bedford store where the same girl that sold it to her was working and was told they had no working systems that she could switch out. She was offered in store credit but they didn't make the warranty good nor did they offer to find a working gaming system. The employee tried to contact her manager and was not able to make contact. She then contacted a manager from this Bloomington location (Eric) who was not knowledgeable or helpful to resolving the issue. He hung up on my daughter when she asked for his supervisors information. An offer was eventually made to refund a portion of her money by mail in 14 days but they could not guarantee how much she would received after they deducted several fees. She then decided to drive to the Bloomington location to once again try to resolve the issue and get a replacement system or a refund. The same manager was still working when she reached the store. He stated he remembered talking to her on the phone. He had one system in stock and did not want to switch it out for her. When he check the warranty, he stated her warranty was not valid due to their employee not entering the correct information. So now, he says she has to have a paper receipt. She presented the paper receipt to him but questioned his employees competence. She was then threatened to be banned from the store! My daughter is barely 5 foot tall !!!!! What's up guys? She just wanted what she paid for.....Don't deal with Eric ! He does not seem to have the customer service skills need to be in a management position. We won't be back! read more
