Awesome store with reasonable value, good selection, and great staff. This review is written from the perspective of a retro video game collector. Value: 4/5 - Prices are often very reasonable. Most games will be listed at a couple bucks over market value, but occasionally you'll find something for cheap. Their console prices cannot be beat with 90 day warranties, and if you have a WKU ID you'll be able to save an additional 10% on every purchase. Selection: 4/5 - Tons of variety for nearly every console under the sun. You won't find a comprehensive list of everything you might be looking for, but you can expect to find something new on the regular. Staff: 5/5 - Always friendly and ready to help. Corporate dictates prices, so you won't find room to negotiate price of course. With already reasonable prices and ongoing promotions, there's no need. Very helpful and friendly staff. Location: 3/5 - Parking is pretty tough, compared to similar nearby locations. No public bathroom. Organization is excellent - games are separated clearly by console, rarity, and alphabetical order.

Purchased a Sega Dreamcast and a rare Ninja Turtle game!

The selection for used single issue comics is massive, but the selection for new releases as well as trades is always very limited, so if there is something specific you want, it's best to add it to a pull list otherwise you miss out. The prices on everything is usually pretty good, but be wary on some of the singles. It's not very often that a single is outwardly expensive compared to its market price, but every now and then you may overpay. Im a seasoned collector, but if I look at the business from the point of view as a new comic book collector, I would say that the shop could use a bit of growing. The staff, as I said, is very friendly, but they could definitely do a bit better at making conversation easier with new faces. Overall, I think if you're new to collecting, just go inside and ask questions. Be honest and say you don't know what you're doing. Several of them will be more than happy to help. Finally, I would like to see a more expansive selection of trades. When I used to go there, there was always 2-3 shelves full of trades and now it's one manga and one trades. I love manga, but there are trades I'd really rather buy from a small business instead of going to say Barnes and noble.

Gamexchange store on Needmore Rd…read more I usually stop by here on a weekly basis to check out prices and because I dislike Gamestop. Ive bought numerous games and have always supported this place. However, I was treated less than stellar by the larger brown hair male associate today through numerous actions. When I first walked in, I was met with a scowl. Not a happy face, smile, anything positive. Ive worked in retail before and have had bad days myself so I definitely understood that may have been the case. After selecting my video game and walking to the front register I also asked for three coins for the machines that give you little keychains and rubber mascots. Right away was met with an attitude of discontent as if I was interrupting his day. Next, he rang up the $9 game and 3 coins for $4 each so $21 dollars and tax. He says $27 and I asked him 27 to which he repeats it and I asked him then how 12 & 9 plus tax equal 27 dollars after repeating my order CLEARLY. He finally looks down and says "oh I charged you too much." Okay so then after charging my card and printing out the sign copy, he throws the pen on the counter at me. Rude actions again and I was pretty much done with his attitude but walked away to the machine. Looking at the machines they have which models are in each. No disclaimer of a different model/set being inside (which any other place would) so one could assume they would have what was advertised ON the machine inside of it. In fact that was the only reason I bought the tokens for the machine in the first place. No such luck. So after getting three that were not related to the ones advertised on the front of the box, I walked to the front counter and explained to the same guy with the attitude that I bought those tokens for what was advertised and that it was false advertising because what was shown was not what was inside the machine. Apparently I must have damaged the guy's emotions to the point where he was visably upset and had to sigh loudly every 20 seconds as if my money isnt paying his paycheck. He also tried to say that the ones I received were from a newer set yet had no ads up with such info because I would not have bought the tokens if I knew that. After mentioning wanting to talk to a manager he finally gave me three more tokens (he also took back the first 3) After repeatedly saying "my man" every few seconds because apparently saying sir is too much of a feat for him. Oh and couldnt hand me the coins instead just tossing them on the counter. If the manager/owner reads this I hope you know that youre gonna lose business if you allow this kind of blatant disrespect and bad attitude in your store. Id just as much recommend gamestop because i dont have to deal with the crappy attitude and il recommend others do the same.
