They also still hold on to hundreds of VHS titles, often because they're rare movies that are difficult or impossible to get on DVD. The price of new releases and old releases are basically the same ($5), which makes this place fairly expensive for renting old movies. They only accept cash and still don't use a computer system. However, the staff are very knowledgeable and can usually be counted on to find a movie for you in the store if you're having trouble. My only big criticism is the staff can border on pretentious from time to time. I've often found when I ask them for suggestions and I explicitly outline the type of movie I'm looking for, they tend to recommend movies they think I "should" like and not what I'm actually asking for.

My boyfriend and I bought the "Life" TV series DVD by BBC, and the Harry Potter movie series for reasonable prices. I know, I know, nerd city. At least the lady at the front gave us a big smile and said she enjoyed them too, so we felt more like "big kids" than geeks. As a huge plus, you can also pay your Rogers bill here. It's a self-serve kind of machine, where you can look up your account with phone number and postal code, and you can pay with debit. You can also pay your balance in full or choose to pay another amount that you specify. Super convenient if you don't use online banking!

This was before I discovered the 6 movies for $10 deal at West Coast Video in Old Ottawa South, of course. They also have a very good selection of used and new movies and video games at the front of the store. Their new release wall is average compared to other chains like Blockbuster and Jumbo Video. I've always received great service from their laid back and knowledgeable staff. They also have a Rogers wireless store beside them.

I went in today because I was in the neighbourhood and it looked interesting, they sell defective sex toys and they're in a giant bin for everyone to touch. But what grossed me out the most was the fact that after I came out of the store I had a gross film of some type of dirt on my hand from touching the toys. barf. The woman approached me and in a snooty tone asked if I wanted to buy anything, and then proceeded to talk on the phone (not business related) for 10 minutes when I actually found something I wanted, she ignored me and I just ended up walking out. My wife's yardstick for checking the depth of rental store libraries is to see if they carry Bedknobs & Broomsticks and Oscar (that Stallone comedy from the 80s). Usually, we can't find either. But, Movies N Stuff actually had Bedknobs & Broomsticks. It is pretty crammed with shelves inside, so you should find what you were looking for. They also rent video games and sell movie posters, which is pretty cool. The prices are great too. They had a deal for older flicks - $1.99, which is better than most places.

Avoid this shop. I paid to have the LCD screen on my MacBook Air replaced, and the repair was done…read morevery poorly. When I got my laptop back, there were bright, uneven patches of light running along the entire bottom edge of the screen, just above the hinge. The technician told me the issue was caused by alcohol used during the repair and claimed it would evaporate and disappear over time. I waited five days as instructed, but the defect remained exactly the same. When I returned, they refused to honor the 100-day warranty printed on my receipt, despite the repair clearly being defective. To make matters worse, the technician actually changed my laptop wallpaper to a dark background in an apparent attempt to make the damage less noticeable instead of addressing the problem. This was an extremely disappointing experience. The repair was substandard, the warranty was not honored, and I felt they were more interested in concealing the issue than fixing it. I would not recommend this shop. Save your money and take your device somewhere else
