Wow another fantastic store at the Livery! I had no idea this store existed. This game store specializes in classic game such as board games or cars or dolls, or things like that. It's not a super big store, but they do carry most of the popular classical games, such as board games, art projects, jigsaw puzzles, or even Pokemon cards. They also have cinematic light boxes. I'm not sure I know what that means, but it sounds like fun. I was surprised to see a large selection of jigsaw puzzles. The nice man at the counter explained this is one of their biggest sellers. They have a really neat service for kids having birthdays. They have a bin with your child's name on it near the entrance. As the day of the party approaches, patrons can buy birthday gifts and stuff it in the bin. It's sort of like a gift registry, but actual gifts instead. If you're looking for a video game, this is not the right place for you. But if you want a fun, classical game experience, come here. I thought the staff was super friendly and helpful. read more

A nice independent toy store with a great selection of (of course) games, puzzles, educational toys, model horses, dolls, Lego, Nerf, and many more. They also have picnic games (ladderball, croquet, volleyball...) As far as the game some cells you'll find the classic adult game suches several types of backgammon chess as well as cards and poker chips and even party bingo. For kids all the old fashioned favorites are there such as Candyland and Cutes and Ladders. It was my first time visiting this local toy store today with my daughter. I can't say enough good things. The owner of the store was manning the shop and it was clear how much he cared about this shop and the customers in it. He took the time to answer all of our questions and let my daughter explore and play with some of the toys that were out. They had a great selection from toddler toys to board games and were a great stop for a last minute birthday gift purchase. They also gift wrap which is great! We will definitely be back! We always gone to Games Unlimited to purchase the most popular games as gifts (they provided free gift wrapping). But what are we suppose to do under the self quarantine edict? Although Games Unlimited is not open for browsing, they are open for curbside pick-up. Thank God for that option. Amazon was always an option, but Games Unlimited's prices are very competitive. Plus the fact that even Amazon's Prime service takes 3-5 days. And guess what we are purchasing? Very old school, but we've picking up 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzles. And just a fyi for "some" of you, a jigsaw puzzle is a tiling puzzle that requires the assembly of often oddly shaped interlocking and mosaiced pieces. Each piece usually has a small part of a picture on it; when complete, a jigsaw puzzle produces a complete picture. In some cases, more advanced types have appeared on the market, such as spherical jigsaws and puzzles showing optical illusions. Jigsaw puzzles were originally created by painting a picture on a flat, rectangular piece of wood, and then cutting that picture into small pieces. Despite it being called a jigsaw, a jigsaw was never actually used to cut it. John Spilsbury, a London cartographer and engraver, is credited with commercializing jigsaw puzzles around 1760. Literally floored by the kindness and we can do attitude in this stores. I was seeing my niece after almost a year of not seeing her and didn't have any gifts prepared. I called in and explained to a nice gentlemen my predicament. Up a creek without a paddle essentially and out of time. I gave him my budget and he picked four gifts for my girl AND wrapped them. Went in the day after Black Friday. Between that and pandemic trends, it wasn't surprising that they were out of 1,500 piece puzzles. Got a call a few hours later, they got one 1,500 piece puzzle, and would hold it for us. Terrific little toy store tucked into the Livery Shopping Center. Google maps shows the location a bit too far to the West. If you're coming from 680 freeway, turn into the last driveway of the shopping center and it's located on the left. We went to get a birthday gift for our friend's 2 year old son. After searching fruitlessly on-line for real wooden trains, we decided to go to a real store. Their selection of toys is truly immense. They had toy trains, girl toys, Legos, puzzles, stuffed animals, science toys, figurines, and more. DH says of the board game selection: "Nice mix of hard core and family board games." I was wowed by their selection of Calico Critters. They are small animals dressed in human clothing. When I was little, I collected these figurines, but they were branded as Sylvanian Families. This store has everything from the giant mansion to the mobile home! You could spend hours here. We settled on a book and some stickers. Staff is helpful without being intrusive. They offer free gift wrap (very nice and super quick!) The clerk was done wrapping the gift before I could blink. If you're passing through this area, give it a try. read more

After pizza and ice cream, my nephews and I walked over to this store. I was pleased to see they had old school toys that I played growing up, and also the more popular toys! They had something for everyone, young and old. They also had toys ranging from cheap to high end. The pricing was competitive with Amazon so we decided to pick up a few things so that we could play with them now. They even had educational games and placemats for kids to learn while they eat. This store is a little magical. On first glance, it looks like one of those typical, smaller independent toy stores that you see here and there in other strip malls like this one. Then you walk in and it unfolds like a witch's house in a fairy tale. It looks smaller on the outside than on the inside. It has an awesome selection of pretty much any toy or game you could imagine. Learning toys, science kits, baby toys, even a whole WALL dedicated to puzzles. Not only great for the kids, but for grownups like us (we love our puzzles). I don't know if this was just for Christmas, but they offer free gift wrapping. Yes, free and they had several choices of gift wrap too. Like any specialty store, prices are a little elevated than say a Wal-Mart or Target, but then the selection here is superior and I'm all for paying a little more to keep an independent store in business. Plus, did I mention the free gift wrap? Update: Since I live in the area, I have been here many many times to buy gifts. Again, prices are a little more expensive than Target, Wal-Mart or Amazon.
