This experience was disappointing enough that I felt compelled to share it. On a Saturday evening around 6:50 p.m., I stopped by Hobby Lobby with my 4-year-old daughter and my elderly mother-in-law. We were preparing for an upcoming funeral, and I needed help with an expensive gold frame I had purchased from Hobby Lobby. One of the corners had separated, and I wanted to know whether the framing department could repair or reinforce it. Because the frame was large and heavy, I left it in my trunk until I confirmed that someone could help. My mother-in-law waited nearby so she could rest while my daughter accompanied me to the framing counter. I approached the employee working in the framing department and asked if he could assist me. His first response was, "I'm off in six minutes - what do you need?" The tone immediately caught me off guard. As I began explaining that the corner of the frame had broken apart and needed reinforcement, he interrupted me and said, "Stop. Just hurry up and tell me what you need." I was surprised because I was simply trying to explain the issue so he could determine whether it was something the framing department could fix. I told him the frame was needed for a funeral and asked if it could be repaired. Instead of addressing my question, he asked why my husband couldn't fix it. I explained that my husband is currently deployed, so he wasn't available to help, and that while I would try to repair it myself if necessary, I also work full-time. His response was simply, "So do I." At that point, it was clear that helping me was not a priority. What made the interaction even more upsetting was that my 4-year-old daughter asked afterward, "Mommy, why was that man so mean? Why didn't he want to help us?" Hearing that from my child was heartbreaking. I told her that maybe he was having a difficult day because I wanted her to understand that we should still try to show kindness to others. I shared my experience with the manager, who told me that this employee often tells others how important it is to be friendly with customers. Unfortunately, that was not reflected in the interaction we experienced. Thankfully, we went to Ace Hardware afterward, where an employee immediately took the time to help us. He recommended reinforcing the frame with small metal corner brackets, nails, and gold spray paint. His advice worked perfectly, and we were able to save the frame in time for the funeral. This review isn't about expecting perfection. Everyone has stressful days. It's about the importance of treating people with basic courtesy and respect, especially when they may already be going through a difficult time. A little kindness can make all the difference. I tell you trying to find someone to help you in this store is almost impossible. When I did find someone, they had no idea what I was looking for, and I asked the next employee and they didn't know where anything was either. I had to go up to the front of the store and ask and then they called someone. Then when I got my can of Spray sealer, they hauled it up front and told me to go the cashier and they'll have it. I'm sorry but I'm in my 60's and this is a "Christian" Store. They don't trust me to put it in my cart and finish shopping? Not very Christian like. What do they think I'm going to do, go sniff a can of sealer in the bathroom? Come on Christian store let's start trusting people. I'm done with Hobby Lobby. The people they have working don't know where things are in the store and they don't trust you. Went to purchase some alginate mold powder. This hobby lobby is about 60 miles from me (a closer hobby lobby's did not have it in stock). An employee guides me to an aisle, this person was helpful, but when I see the bag I was looking for, it looks like the package has been opened already; the top plastic was cut and it looks like the bag wasn't full (1.5lb bag). I ask the employee and he says ya that seems like it was open. I ask if there's a scale around. He says no. So I take the item to the front, and ask 3 other employees if there's a scale, since it looks opened. They say there is no scale available. I ask the person at the cash register, and she points over to another employee who seems like a manager. This employee wasn't wearing a hobby lobby blue uniform shirt. I show the top of the bag to the employee, and she says, that's how it is. I told her I don't think this is right. I need the powder so I purchase it. When I get home I weight the powder and it's only 1.082lbs when it should be 1.5lbs. I don't want to drive back just for a refund, so I was hoping Hobby Lobby can send me a message for a refund. Service is the biggest issue when I visited this store the evening of November 7th, from the workers (multiple) to the managers (two) who were little to no help when asking for assistance. Workers were very unfriendly (no smiles or ensuring customers found what they were looking for. Very disappointing! I try to find the positive when writing any feedback but this store was not a good example of good customer service (!!). The selection of items were plentiful and value is like all hobby lobby's, decent prices. I hope the worker's can put a little more effort into their customer service and maybe smile/be friendly to your customers. read more

I wasn't expecting my hobby lobby trip to be so memorable. Mark Anthony saw me choosing florals, and holding them up to the mirrors in the mirror isle. he kindly came up and asked me if it was for my wedding, I said yes. He conversed with me for a bit . He was so helpful and so kind and reassured me that I was choosing good florals. (I came alone) he congratulated me on my wedding, and his reassurance did honestly help me choose my flowers. The slowest checkout experience you will have in your entire life. The employees have to input each individual price for every item, no scanners, no apple pay, no tap to pay. I refuse to shop here again. Went in a couple times recently and the lines were long. Today I waited in line about 15 minutes to make a return and there was still 8 people in front of me when I left without even doing the return. Shelves are not stocked adequately either. Boxes were blocking the walkways and aisles. 10-12 on the aisle around me, plus employees going back and forth in front of me with no manners. I guess, as a customer I was in THEIR way. It is so wrong when employees speak in languages other than English on the sales floor. Talked to a manager and she said this is how it is. My question is if they have to unload the truck, as she says, why not vertical stacking. Or putting up the truckload when the store is closed like most businesses. The checkout lines were 15 deep. I went to Hobby Lobby to get some bows for birthday presents. They were having a 50% off sale, so I thought I'd check them out. They have a huge variety of stuff, and whether or not you like what they sell (personally, I think it's all just a lot of junk), they give you something you may not want - a book about Jesus! When I got home, I saw the checker had put a book in my bag, "The Case for Christmas" by Lee Strobel. Hobby Lobby is proselytizing Christianity! On the back cover, it states the book contains, among other ideas, evidence for the virgin birth. What an insult it is to those of us who are not Christian or who don't believe in the myth of Christ's divinity. I find this inappropriate at best, and actually, abhorrent to me and other non-believers. I recommend that if you want craft items, artificial foliage, or other such items, go somewhere - anywhere - else. read more

Christmas season is in full swing at the Hobby Lobby. If your in the market for a Christmas tree I don't think you could find a better artificial tree selection. Lots of Christmas decoration is 50% off - so you don't have to wait for the day after Christmas to buy something for a good price. I was pleasantly surprised with the options in trees and heights and widths and price variety. 10' trees that didn't have such a large footprint, a Grinch Christmas tree - flocked ones... all these things really caught my eye. I usually always have a fresh Christmas tree and I'm currently growing a large number of Christmas trees for myself imported from other states of varied varieties. I carefully watch and prune them to a perfect shape because I've not been perfectly satisfied with my fresh Christmas tree hunts. I've decided I probably need to grow them myself. Problem is all my trees are still tiny - so meanwhile I still have to buy some full grown ones for the next 5 years - but these artificial ones do get some interest from me. Not everybody has the space for their own personal Christmas tree farm - so I think this a decent option for most people. I think the problem is you need to keep them for 10 years or so for them to be less of an environmental impact than fresh cut. Overall the store had lots of interest. I purchased material and notions to make a dress for my granddaughter at Hobby Lobby in Concord. I spent two weeks sewing, and decided to wash it (gently) before I finished it. The material was a linen blend and it unraveled completely. I took the dress in the store to see what they would do for me. I got my money back (100%) after lisening to 3 clerks trying to explain why they needed the actual receipt instead of bank records. They wanted each receipt broken down into exactly what I spent on material alone, subtract out the notions. It is very disheartening when you spend all the time it takes to make a dress. The shining star was Lisa, the manager. She acknowledged the reality of the situation and knew belittling me was not a solution. They didn't have to refund anything, but I sure appreciated the way she solved the problem. I will keep going there for now. read more

Unfortunately even though it's still early in the month, there were NO ornament sets at all. Either that or everyone has seemingly upped their game this year in their Christmas decor. If that's the case, great. If supply can't support the demand, that sucks because it was really discouraging to see so many empty shelves one added another. Lines so long they snaked 20 deep down the aisles. Huge boxes of merch that had not been shelved littering the aisles, difficult to get by or walk around, impossible to see what was actually on the shelves in some areas. What a mess! Hobby lobby has a wide selection of craft and other others however buyer beware as Hobby Lobby does not like to return anything. It is pretty much an all sales final store and they should post such so customers are aware. Anytime I have done a craft I purchase extra to not run out and return the unused products however not with Hobby lobby. And no where on their receipt does it state this. It does sate you can return with a receipt within 90 days. But nice I had a product that once home I opened it to find out it was broken and had to fight t get an unbroken one and today the manager Mason and I quote told me "Why would we want something that is broken, do other stores return broken products " yes Mason every normal store will make it right if they sold you something broken. I even asked how would you feel to buy an item go home and find out it's broken. So buyer beware do not over buy and open and check every item and make sure it works before checking out as from what I am told they will sell you broken products and it's your own fault for not checking. So is this a place I want to do business with I'm going to go with a no. I have learned my lesson and make sure others are aware before they are stuck with items broken. Such a shame as I would think I they have better values on treating their customers claiming to be a Christian store. read more

We walked in with intent to buy materials for a project I'm doing, (I'm an event planner/ @jazofalltrvdes IG) anyway. I asked if the bathrooms were working and for the code since the last time I was here, I was advised to go to Guitar Center. Sandra or the register manager said "oh it's working but it's only for paying customers." I looked at her like yes, can I have the code? And then she said "come back in a few the person at the bathrooms is on break" SO y'all have the bathroom be guarded? I thought it was very rude and I didn't think I'd experience that. Clearly there's only TWO stores. Hobby Lobby and Guitar Center. WHY would I stop at either stores if I didn't specifically need something when Veranda is literally the next block? Very huge store!!!!!!!! This store has everything from fabrics, knitting , frames, jewelry making, home decor, stickers, and more!!!! I love the huge variety of anything everything crafts !!! Store is very Clean, organized and ample stock. Lots of children friendly fun projects. I saw a few families with their children looking for DIY projects and supplies.
