The store manager, Bill, is amazing. I'm new to miniature painting but knew Games Workshop had their own line of paints designed for miniatures. So I went in for just paints but came out with a bunch of great products and some directions from Bill on how to practice my painting skills. I've been back several times now for more paints and models. Each time Bill has been willing to take a look at my work and give me pointers on what to improve next. I stopped in to Games Workshop today during my lunch break because I was unaware of what was inside. A few weeks ago I noticed this store next to Chipotle. However, they're closed on Monday and Tuesday. I was going to stop in very quickly and then grab Chipotle next door. I ended up spending my entire lunch break here. Bill was the Games Workshop employee who assisted me. He showed me the products and gave me a basic run-down of how the game is played. He was extremely friendly and inviting. Bill also showed me the inside of the kits you can purchase as well as some painting techniques that he uses to get his models painted just right. I was surprised how amazing you can get some plastic models to look once you know the proper painting techniques. I am far from an expert (I have never build small models like this) but I can assure you that Bill knows his stuff. Just take a look at the models in the store that he has painted!! Bill also took the time to play a short round with me so that I could get a better feel for how the game plays. This store also has battle areas so you can setup games with friends, family, or random people. They have regular 'play times' as well as some days set aside specifically for newbies like myself. While I did not pick up a kit today, if I do decide to do so, I will be glad to purchase one from Bill. read more

Disclaimer: I am not a gamer. My boyfriend is. But since he took me here and I checked in, might as well write a review. So I was surprised and fascinated that this store is dedicated to one game: warhammer. They have warhammer 40k and warhammer age of sigmar. The store is small but they were stacked with so many models. They had starter kits, models of armies and rule books. They had the paints, brushes, tools and glue. You could even ask someone to demonstrate how to paint the models. They had scenes set up and people playing the game in the store. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. I am kinda surprised at how expensive a plastic model can be, but if people buy them hey why not. For someone who has no idea what warhammer 40k and age of sigmar was about, I thought this was a good store to go to. I enjoyed my visit read more

Store is nice but the way GW operates sort of sucks. Manager is the only employee so had to wait for store to open back up because he was taking his lunch which he is entitled to. Waited around 10 to 15 min and he showed back up. Tried to find out some information but he was to busy talking with his friends that he showed up with while on his lunch break. Not very helpful. Citadel paints are some of my favorite so when I am in the area I always stop by and get some. Although I am starting to shy away from GW and expand my horizons with P3 paints and models/gaming within the star wars universe I will always hold a place for 40k. read more

So, I used to be a big RPG person back when I was younger, I loved D and D and other game systems. One of the coolest, with the biggest mythology, was Warhammer, and it's creator was the folks from Games Workshop. A company out of Britain originally, they specialized in games featuring both futuristic and medieval table top armies on a vast scale. Imagine my surprise when we stumbled across an actual Games Workshop STORE at Eastgate. I'd stopped by before, only to find out that they were closed Monday and Tuesday, but I finally got to go in and check the place out, and it was neat. The gentleman I spoke to showed me around and showed me the wide selection of game modules, books, magazines and models that Games Workshop offers. Everything was of superior quality.. and they had several game areas set up for ready-made table top gaming, and there were even gents there doing model painting, an art in itself, at another table. Now, just to advise, stuff here is not CHEAP, but that's because it's a specialty store and, as I said, the quality is really exceptional. They do have a full line of model paints as well for those who want to start doing their own, and their schedule includes table top games and other opportunities to indoctrinate yourself into the Games Workshop worlds. So, if you have the time and the inclination, come on down and get schooled at Games Workshop. read more
