You know what? I really like this store. A lot. A fantastic selection of books, magazine, movies and games. All previously used and as the name suggests, at half the cost. Half Price Books is basically a thrift store for the media savvy audience. Each trip is an exciting expedition of sorts. A treasure hunt to find that one hidden gem. I like how each visit is sure to reveal a different find than the previous. I've never purchased music here, although I have noticed they do have a collection of vinyl as well as CD's. The wall of movies vary among VHS, DVD's and even Blu-Rays. As for the books, I've discovered quite a few great finds with the most recent selections varying from a Harvey Pekar graphic novel to the latest Tony Bourdain diatribe to a random Michael Ruhlman novel about a first hand account of the culinary world. It's also important to remember that this store exists solely based on how often customers recycle their stuff. The return isn't great on trades, but it sure beats having your old, ignored junk gather dust at the house. Plus, if they can't resell it, HPB will recycle or donate to a non-profit organization.

Ask the Community - Half Price Books

Does this store buy books from the public? I have a lot of Joyce Meyer books that are brand new. Because I have a lot of duplicates. And I also have other religious books.

Thank you for your message. Any of our retail locations would be happy to make you an offer on these items. A buyer in a store location would need to take a look in order to make you a cash offer. All of our stores buy during all hours of operation.…

Review Highlights - Half Price Books

This is by far my favorite book store I have encountered in Cleveland purely for the books and the prices.

The men's area has a lot of clothes and shoes. The housewares/furniture/stuff changes regularly, so go often if you're looking for something. The shelf in the way back is junky. It's unorganized with stuff of all shapes and sizes. But I enjoy rummaging through the shelves to find that unexpected item. Here I have found vinyl gloves, greeting cards and napkins in original packaging, four water proof patches for my phone which I tested and they all prevented water during snorkeling. Today there was a lot of yarn and school paper. This area is my go-to. AND I take my old newspapers here. The staff uses it to pack glassware. Take yours and leave it on the counter. The staff will give you a big smile.

It used to be, but not now prices are one of the highest there is besides Mentor and Chardon. They are insanely high all three of them. There's really no discount on anything now you get a dollar when you go now it's a weirdest thing the Goodwill's are horrid. They're putting all their stuff on eBay or Econ as they call it same thing so nobody gets to buy anything but what's left over junk leftover overpriced junk because everything they put is on Ecom is leftover garage sale stuff that nobody bought and the clothing is outrageous. You can buy New for those prices. I can go to Walmart and get all my new clothes if need be namebrand or not doesn't matter, but they have gone insane Goodwill have just because the CEO lost too much money in his pocket. I really wish I would've took pictures when I went there but if you go to Logan County, the Goodwill oh my God insane prices too for what they have. Everything is really sad anymore. Your Goodwill's are overpriced Amazon stuff and overpriced. leftover garage sale I will keep repeating that so everyone knows. But pretty much every area can use a lot of improvement.
