They LIE about their return policy. I *specifically* asked if I could return the item I was purchasing as a gift for the holidays, and they said if it was "new & unopened, with the receipt" it could be returned within 15 days (actually more due to the holiday). So I brought the new, unopened box *still in shrinkwrap* with the receipt and they refused to take it back. Said I could have re-shrinkwrapped it, and they don't accept that item for returns for that reason. What?? I specifically asked about that before I bought it. They should honor what their own employees tell customers. What other store says "yes, you can return this" but when you actually do, says "just kidding"? Really? Either they are liars and cheats, or just (more likely) incompetent and dumb, but either way, consider all purchases final!! (And with their strict 15 day return policy and worst in the business prices, I'd recommend just going online & save yourself the trouble. I go to GameStop occasionally. Not a huge gamer, but like to play when the mood hits. I've been to GameStop enough to know about the Pro membership they always push you on. I always politely decline as I'm not interested in a subscription at all. So today, I went to this location to buy a Switch OLED. The guy asked me if I had an account with GameStop. Not a Pro membership- an account. I said I don't know, and he said he could check with my number. So I gave him my number to see. He said I didn't have an account. Then, he asked me if I wanted to make an account. I said sure, why not? Doesn't cost anything. Then he asked for my address, and I gave him my address. I go home and check my email. He signed me up for GameStop Pro- a paid, monthly subscription-based service without asking me or informing me at ALL. He was clearly being intentionally deceptive and likely purposefully manipulated/misled me. I've already cancelled, but that doesn't change the fact that I've paid for a month that I'll never use/need, or ever wanted in the first place. This kind of practice is illegal, and I really hope GameStop isn't corrupt enough to let it slide. EDIT: Just realized I never gave them my email in the first place, so I DID have a normal account. This used to be my favorite gamestop in the area. Im writing this 07/26/2024, as of recently they have hired an indian gentleman to run the store and work at the counter. As it goes it their culture, they dont wear deodorant. So, and i am not exaggerating, the entire store from wall to wall, reeks so strong like B.O. SO strong i bet you wont be able to make it to the switch games in the back without turning around and walking back out the door. This location has a great selection of games, they have better prices than other locations which is great. But the B.O. scent is so powerful and radiant, its not like they can spray fabreeze and the problem will go away, management will have to completely fumigate the place and get the scent out of the walls, floor, ceiling, its that bad. Absolutely pathetic, I went in to purchase Call of Duty Black Ops 3 during work, I was gonna play with a couple of buddies of mine, so I thought it'd be easier to just come and buy the game. I come in pay for the game and on my way out I open the box and realized the box is empty I said no problem I'll just go inside and get another one, come home and when I try to start the game, it says the game cannot be read, when I come back to get a replacement they say it's the only copy they have available, come on guys seriously. To top it all off I didn't see the refund on my account so I had to call, only for them to tell me I had to wait 1-3 business days....Gamestop has fallen off, and this is coming from a former employee. read more

So the problem with most of these game locations being what they are, that most employees still don't have a single unspoken musing, that if you (like I) are dumb enough to wander in one on the day after Christmas when seventy-five people are shoehorned into a closet-like enclave, all that junk being what it is (and the reality in this post-holiday world), I had a remarkable time considering what I was attempting to do and what I came out with, and it is all...I mean *entirely*...thanks to the guy working behind the counter. If you're reading between the lines here (or even reading the lines themselves) you've likely gathered that: a) I am secretly about seven and a half b) these guys were SLAMMED And they were. Totally slammed. The line during the half hour to 45 minutes I spent here was rarely less than six people deep given the two registers open at all times, and I found it nothing less than remarkable that someone didn't go all Attilla the Hun on this mo-fo locale and show us some real life fighting moves. That said, the dude behind the counter who initially helped me was unmistakably calm, efficient, and worked at getting me the prime deal allowable. How he found the time to do that is a miracle. I walked in with the sole intent of picking up one game to goof on, given that I'm now the owner of a new video game console, and I had the one in had and marched to the counter given that it sported a sticker showing $20 bucks off. When I hit the counter, however, the clerk told me something I didn't know: there was a slightly used version available in the back for ten bucks less than the sale price of this one, that they were running a special on used games where if I picked one more out I'd get a third game free. Now suddenly the whole world opened up here. Instead of going for one game and wearing it out, I could multitask, finding all sorts of fun stuff. So I dug, and eventually found three games, the lowest priced one I got for free. And I walked out for about ten bones more total for three games than I would have for the one game I originally was going to pick up. In all, even given the crowd, a pleasant experience. Thanks Gamestop guy! Now if you could just send me some cheat codes, I'll be golden. read more

I was on the hunt for anime Funko Pops. After visiting 2 stores I was surprised I was greeted when I entered this Brodie Lane store and offered assistance. When I declined the assistance the female clerk let me know she'd be available if I needed any later. Their selection was pretty well stocked since they'd received a shipment 2 days prior. While trying to decide which ones to narrow my selection down to, the female clerk asked if I was okay. When I told her I was just trying to narrow my selection she gave me her opinion as to which ones seems best. Overall this store was very helpful and courteous. read more

It's a place that's good to get used games for generally good prices. New games can be cheaper at places like Walmart. Unfortunately they don't sell old games like Playstation 2, Xbox, and Gamecube games. Just the really modern ones. Sometimes the employees are a bit rude I mean I made a suggestion on how to make the store better and he was like "We're the biggest game store in the U.S." and really denounced by suggestion. Its full of hipster nerds who think they are gamers. I'm a pro-core gamer...thats hard-core with a pro-gamer.;) I've been doing this since 5 years old and have been ever since. This game stop doesn't surprise me one bit. They seem to pay attention more to the quick fixed attention getters who dress in vintage clothing or if you are going to trade in a ton of video games....even then if you get the power up card you are rewarded very little respect. Its a place that really doesn't hit the spot for me....i've been to other gamestops...this game stop isn't one of the gamestops that is actually worth stopping by for a game. lol I'll point you to the right direction if you are looking for a great customer experience.The game stop over at Benwhite next to walmart and the gamestop over at Westgate are pretty nice.They are very helpful. read more

I asked a couple of questions and didn't receive any answer. You looked right past me. I also had a tissue that I wanted to throw away and I asked about the trash, you pointed outside without talking to me, later on, I went to toss it out in the trash can behind the register and she started to yell at me. Adam came out at that and let me throw away what I needed to throw away. He asked Katie to go do some stock. My wife and I had a great experience! We bought a used console which we ended having to exchange because it made a loud scratchy noise when loading a disc. Jeff helped us out with the exchange. I hate to admit it but I go here a lot. No, I'm not a gamer, I barely know how to turn on an X Box let alone excel at it. Yes, I know what World War Craft cards are, but that would be all I know about them. One a week when my son gets his allowance and it's burning a hole in his pocket the hustle begins. "Mom, can you drive me to Game stop?" The hustle doesn't stop until we have safely arrived at this location. Every time I have been here (more than I care to admit) the staff has been extremely helpful.
