Disrespectful actions by a management position to a paying customer. Never in my life have I been told to leave a mall store or anywhere for spending $80 dollars corporate GameStop : look into this branch Please. There's not much of a worse candidate to be the voice of a branch of operation than one who doesn't help at all in servicing product related questions, begrudgingly rings you up and then when you mention they could have been more helpful - they raise there energy and tell you to "leave the store ", "now" and "take it up w. Corporate " - these words from the shift manager as he pointed at the door for me to exit. - but this is what occurred and by the reviews here happens often at this store. I don't know how William and Gabrielle whom are the face of this GameStop branch are left to be in charge of representing the GameStop company , but hoping this post will save someone from walking in this store and just buying elsewhere or online instead. I stopped by this GameStop store on the second floor of Westfield Topanga Mall while my wife was shopping. When I walked inside, the person behind the counter greeted me. I saw they have Funko Pops here so I took a look to see which characters they had. Then I went to look at their Nintendo Switch games selection. They sell some Pokemon figures and other figures as well but not Pokemon cards because another guest walked in with their kid to look for them. The man working behind the counter was trying to help them by calling other GameStop stores to check if they have them. I saw they have some expensive PlayStation 5 controllers here as well. I also saw some Star Wars lightsaber and helmet that they kept close to the ceiling. read more

Unfortunately had a negative experience here right after the holidays. We came in looking for a second controller for our switch, and the salesperson was not offering any options to us. She made a point to neg the used joy con sticks, tell us there were no new ones and offer us nothing. We saw a pro controller on the wall and asked her about it and she finally admitted this could work for a wireless tv application. We purposely went to this store for GUIDANCE not to be completely not given any constructive help. We could have ordered on Amazon if we wanted to wing it on our own. Then we she rang me up for 89.00 she asked me if I wanted a bag and told me she really didn't have any that would work for the item. Granted it's pouring rain right now in Los Angeles. So again after the last straw of not even offering us a suitable bag for an almost 100 purchase, I told her I was super disappointed in her customer service. She acted completely surprised and as someone who comes out of customer service where the customer is always right, I was in shock. Her coworker then took it upon himself to tell me that I was "done and needed to leave the store". I am a 45 year old woman who just spent 90 dollars in your store and instead of listening to my feedback and helping his associate maybe LEARN from this he got hostile. I will be reporting him to the corporate line for creating a hostile environment and will be returning the controlling and ordering from Amazon. Came here to purchase a game they asked if I wanted to provide an email id and receive $10 discount. I moved forward provided information and now there was a 15 dollar up charge to join their club. Advised I was never told that and the response asking for the manager who was right there was that I heard the employee say there is a $10 discount. Which I responded with great I heard that part but was never told about the $15 membership price for this provided email and Id. I got a Minecraft toy plush for my nephew for Christmas, he opened it the day of and the toy was ripped. You are unable to see the rip until you actually handle the toy. Took the toy plush back the next day and the employee said they will not be able to return it since the box was open. I'm not sure on how you can check an item to see if it is damaged without opening the box! Will never purchase an item there again and will never recommend this store to anyone. read more

Poor customer service. Refused to take returns, Staff stated that they don't take returns for collectibles even though I bought it online and was delivered to me damaged. I asked to speak to the Manager but Staff stated there is no Manager on site. I checked GameStop Return policy online and there is no such thing and I was able to return damaged items through Fedex drop off. What kind of GameStop store doesn't know their own company return policy. Do yourself a favor and avoid this store. I needed to make a return for an expansion storage for my Xbox. Unfortunately, I bought the wrong size. I do work retail, and understand that returns may sometimes not be possible, so in-store credit would have been fine with me. However.. There was a woman working there, blonde hair. Mind you, we were the only one in the store. She had her AirPods in, I'm assuming talking to a friend or boyfriend. She took her time helping us, as she continued her phone call. We told her the issue we were having with the item purchased, and before we were finished with our sentence, she cut us off and said she couldn't help us, that store policy will not allow for returns. I told her in-store credit would have been fine, but she looked at us, rolled her eyes, and said no, she couldn't help us. I had a feeling she just didn't want to make the return/exchange for us, as we "interrupted" her phone call. She also made us feel stupid with little side remarks. Now, this would not have been an issue, if the item purchased was $25, or $30. This item was $150. Of course we were going to be frustrated. We left the store, annoyed, and called another GameStop in Northridge. and the man helped us right away, and went above and beyond for us to have an easy transaction. We told him the situation at the other game stop, and he said he had no clue why the girl would send us away. SCAM ALERT!!!!! I came in today and tried to buy the new PS5 God of War bundle. They had it in stock and when I told them I wanted one, the GameStop worker said i would have to buy a second controller in order to buy it. I told them that the bundle comes with one controller and thats all i wanted. He said that its a store bundle rule. Nothing anywhere says this. I felt ai was being forced to buy something I didn't want so i didn't buy it. I then went on GameStop.com and bought the bundle for pickup at the same store. The same guy that tried to force me buy a second controller gave me my PS5 bundle without the extra one. They know these systems are in high demand now and tried to force sell me extra stuff by making up a rule that doesn't exist. This is dishonest and should be illegal. I can afford to buy a second controller. I don't like to be forced to buy one on some non rule. I have to say I was absolutely shocked by the amazing treatment I received from Nikki the manager at GameStop. He went above and beyond what I expected from him when I called to make sure I received points in my PowerUp account. I had just purchased it yesterday and the wrong email was attached so he called customer service on my behalf and not only rectified the issue but for my inconvenience he added extra points. That PowerUp program has more than paid for itself and GameStop is lucky to have him. I will never go to BestBuy to buy anything that I can't buy from GameStop because of his service. I went in for a used controller 2 days ago . As I create content for YouTube (saucedxup) I pick up a controller pay 55$ with warranty I ask the guy " you guys test for stick drift right " he says yes that's what this computer is " for " as I go home I plug it in only too find out the stick drift is even worse in the controller I bought FROM them than the one I already have .. I go back they tell me " you need too use your warranty too replace it " I just had this for 8 hours max .. so I use my warranty too get a replacement for a controller that SHOULDVE worked in the first place the worker was gonna give me my warranty onto the next controller since he said I sold it too u not long ago don't worry , manager comes out and says .. no u have too use your warranty .. makes no sense .. they give me THE 2nd controller .. Came in to replace a PS VR2 under warranty. Arrived at 8:50 pm. Gabby (supposedly the manager) was helping another customer. Her other employee asked to leave before the store closed, and she approved it. At 8:55 pm, she walked over to me, told me the computers close at 8:55 and she can't help me. Store closes at 9 pm. Instead of sending her employee home early, she could have made him help me instead. Game stop already lost a majority of its stores. The reason I gave this place 3 stars is because it is average compared to the giant store located on Ventura. I went sitting through stores on Gamestop.com and found that this store had a used copy of the game I WANTED. Using the website, I was able to get a confirmation of a hold for my game in less than 5 minutes. While traveling to the store is a bit much, since I live in Oxnard and Canoga park is 40 minutes out south. I was pleasantly surprised to find the store was organized and the employee had my game ready for pick up. He was polite and smiled, and he would welcome patrons coming in while he helped ring me up.
