I first called to locate the store (Google Maps' address doesn't take you to the storefront, just the crossroads) and the man who answered was so bubbly, I thought it was an automated message. I eventually found it (near Famous Daves) and met the man behind the voice. He is SO friendly and helpful. I didn't find what I needed, but damn did the man try to help me find it. He gave me the names of a few other possible stores (I was looking for polyhedral dice) and showed me their catalogue. If you ever want something from their site, just call in and ask them to order it- you pay no shipping! The store has an impressive stock and apparently holds tournaments very frequently!

Not so here. The manager of this store is very knowledgeable of the product lines and goes above and beyond to help you find what you are looking for. He is very passionate and willing to offer advice when it comes to gaming strategies, and painting advice (literally this guy goes above and beyond). While the store is small, it has a great atmosphere. Many people in the store are regulars and are very welcoming. Games are constantly running so it offers many opportunities for you to watch games unfold and even pit your armies against other players. Store stock is consistent and Games Workshop offers free shipping if you order something online and have it shipped to the store.

My friends and I came here on a Sunday afternoon and there was some sort of tournament happening at the tables that was timed with multiple rounds. These tables take up about half of the shop, so it was very impressive to see and all very organized! The rest of the shop has a ton of card/board games in one corner, a long display case filled with collectible cards of all kinds (namely, Pokemon cards is what my friends were here for), a corner for DND books, dice, etc., and then a few end cap style shelves with other game and fandom accessories. There's something for everyone here and it was all super lovely! The pricing here is perhaps $1-2 more expensive than a few card shops more local to us, but they had a really lovely and extensive collection, some cards which we had never seen before either, so it was worth it! We met some people that were really into D+D. They told us the different guides we can use and videos we can watch to learn how to play. They also told us to check out the event calendar to see dates when others play. When we walked over to the calendar, we saw the tables and game board on a shelf. I talked to an employee and she was super nice. We found out that you can bring food and drinks in ( be very careful though). You can bring in your own games or xards. You can also grab one on the shelf and play with it. She actually showed us a demo of how to play one. We had a lot of fun. We were told that there is a game night on Tuesdays. Most people met each other here, and they come to play every week. We would love to come back with some of my siblings to eat and then play a few new games. If you have questions about any games, the staff are always very helpful. We will be back in very soon!

I used to come here with my grandma, so walking in still carries a lot of good memories for me. I wish I could have brought her more often before she passed, but in the later years of her life, reading became harder for her because of Alzheimer's. She still loved her knitting books and liked having books around, even if sometimes I think she was mostly pretending to read them. Honestly, that still feels very her. There is something comforting about a real bookstore. The smell of books, the displays, the quiet browsing, the accidental "I came in for one thing and now I live here" energy. The ability to ask an associate for their recommendations and their help in finding something you never expected you might fall in love with This location has always had that classic Barnes & Noble feeling, and I appreciate that it has stayed part of the community while so many bookstores have disappeared. That said, books have gotten expensive, and I have fully become a sellout with Audible and used-book shopping. I'm actually getting ready to downsize my own book collection because some of them deserve a better life with someone who will actually read them again. It would be amazing if Barnes & Noble had a simple used-book trade-in or resale option here. Maybe they do and I'm just not in on the secret, but either way, I'm still grateful this location exists.

They have a Starbucks Cafe and the cheesecake comes from the Cheesecake Factory. There was plenty to choose from to snack on besides the cheesecake. The servers at the cafe were professional and very friendly. Mom had a wheelchair so we appreciated the ramp to get to the seating area for the cafe. The store is well stocked and very clean. The children's area is large and very inviting for the young ones. Next to the children's area is a large display of toys, many of the toys are educational and interactive. They have magazines, toys, journals, cards, books of all types of genres.

Since this MICHAELS doesn't have in-store scanners, I used my app to see what the discount was that was advertised. Makes sense, right? No other way to know your discount as they only tell you the percentage. Have to figure out yourself. When I went to checkout, it was not what I scanned, so I told the guy at register(young male). Not a very friendly person. Tried to tell me it was more than what I scanned. Basically, sounded like he didn't believe me!! So I scanned it in FRONT of him like THREE TIMES-as after the first time he still refused it. Ended up calling over the manager(also not friendly-young female). So then she tries to say it's an online price-which MY MICHAELS I go to in LAPEER has never had an issue with by the way as THEY say it's allowed. Anyway-she ended up doing it, and I told her that if your not going to have scanners in your store & people are using the MICHAELS APP to scan what they want to buy, then what's the problem? She actually told ME TO CALL CORPORATE & complain as that's who pulled the scanners. I'm sorry HONEY-wouldn't that be YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AS A MANAGER??
