Five stars for the guy at the counter who was so friendly and helpful when my boyfriend and I inquired about buying an original Wii.

Located in a safe and easily accessible area, within the gravitational pull of Walmart, Gamestop…read morewill elevate all your gaming needs. But don't fret they're more, much more than a videogame store! Next what sets this store apart from other stores and even other GameStops are the people and space. The staff here are extremely friendly and quick to assist with any questions you may have about what they carry or even rumors about upcoming releases. I found this store to be the cleanest and most spacious of any of the Gamestops that I've stepped into in the greater Summerville area. As for the consoles and games, they carry exactly what you can find at the bigger stores, yet they do have a selection of items that one won't find at other stores such as older systems and games like Wii or PS2 games. In addition to the latest titles, they have a plethora of used games that can be purchased. FYI - I'm a strong advocate of OWNING physical media as a lot of these corporations can take an online product down at anytime and you no longer have the game you purchased. It's even more of a nuisance with streaming services take down their content (movies, series, documentaries, etc) all the time. Another example is Disney took Toy Story 2 and deleted several scenes with Stinky Peete (Kelsey Grammer) b/c they didn't think it was "appropriate in today's society." The only way you can own your memories, is buy the discs!!!! Other products include toys, action figures and Funko Pop figures, which I still haven't figured out the allure to as of yet. I just hate the oversized head. This store does carry gaming themed clothing as well as many other collectables, I strongly recommend coming in to browse for a while considering their inventory changes. I'm sure anyone reading this already knows, but you can sell consoles, games and other things or even trade for cash or credit. Finally, they do allow preorders if you need to secure that new console, game or cards. Speaking of cards, I believe they're also the number one carrier of cards - Pokemon, OnePiece, NFL, NBA and so on in the greater Summerville area. Moreover, they can send off the cards to be officially graded, albeit for a hefty price. As for the atmosphere and people this is my favorite Gamestop by far. What I mean by that is I wasn't hassled to buy anything. While Gamestop corporate has mandated a push to sell their "Pro Membership" and warranties, there's a way to be subtle about it. The store associate named Tara was cool, had good conversation skills in that she related based on Switch games. Her sales technique was spontaneous based on my personality, not in a rush to make a sell. I will always support local stores, especially toy stores (RIP Toys R Us, KB Toys and so on) but when someone tries to make me feel bad b/c I don't want to buy a membership I have an issue with that. Not here. Finally the store is the best because it has more space than others. I feel I'm able to get some elbow room while wondering like I'm an 8 yr old kid again dreaming of owning so many things I don't need. I like a spread out floor plan, and this place capitalizes on it. In summary, I love Gamestop and the people that work here are awesome. Moreover, Gamestop has thus far resisted the "brick and mortar" death that so many other stores have become victim too, they buck the trend of bigger corporations that have stop selling items like discs and physical media and they have a larger selection of "in-hand" products as being able to hold something still means a lot to many of us. I strongly suggest coming in for all of your gaming, cards, interesting toys likes Star Wars, Lego, and Pokemon along with collectable needs. They'll treat you like fellow nerds!

I guess GameStop is paradise for video gamers....I'm not one of those people. My boyfriend stopped…read morein to trade in some games and pick up a new one. I think it's cool how they buy used games, even though it's only for a few dollars. The store is well organized and bright. The sales associates were nice. The male cashier very talkative with my boyfriend and friendly. The female associate was nice but she could've been more helpful when we asked questions....it seemed like we were holding her up from doing other stuff.

It looks like a nice store but it is very overwhelming…read more I left quickly after entering due to how overwhelming it was. Books stacked over your head with only minor order to them. A general genre sorting, but it is not always right.

Trade A Book is Charleston's oldest bookstore. As of 2025 Beverley has been in business for 36…read moreyears. Her first store under the same name was located in Summerville on Trolly Rd which she later sold. (That new owner has since moved the location and kept the same name though they are not affiliated.) Trade A Book is a used bookstore where readers are able to bring in their books in exchange for store credit. There is a limit of 25 books per person per day that can be brought in. (Please don't be one of those that tries to sneak more in.) You May find new books on the shelves when someone trades them in but TAB does not order stock of new releases. What books should you expect to find? A little bit of everything. - general fiction - fantasy / sci fi - Upper YA - Lower YA - Children's books (grade school as well as picture books for the little kiddos) - Historical fiction - Classics - Romance (historical, contemporary, fantasy) - Mystery/ thriller - Horror - Religious / Christian - non fiction (this space is very small and limited) - Westerns - Local authors - and much more!! At this time operating hours are Thurs-Fri 11-4P. It is best to call the store ahead of time to confirm they are open as Beverley runs the store by herself and can take leave while she assists with family care. Beverly is one of the nicest store owners and is super knowledgeable about the books on her shelves. Readers are always welcome to request temporary holds if something comes in. There is a special charm to this place that you won't find anywhere else in the Charleston area. 10/10 recommend visiting yourself. There is a coffee shoonnex
