Be aware before buying Pokemon cards from this location. I purchased a Destined Rivals Booster Bundle from this location and it looked sealed at the time, but as soon as I got home and opened it up, I noticed there were only five packs on the inside when there is supposed to be six. I have bought cards at Gamestop before and have never had any issue so I gave them a quick call to see what can be done and I was told there is nothing they can do because the boxes come "sealed" and that I have to contact the Pokemon company directly. Especially for charging almost double the price of this product I would've expected better support for something like this going on. read more

I am so disappointed with Game stop. My son had been saving up for a specific switch game that he saw at game stop. When he had the Money we went to purchase it. The sticker price was $24.99 and when we went to ring out he was charging me $39.99 for it. I stopped the transaction cause that was clearly not the price that was listed on the game. They absolutely refused to honor their listed price saying it was because he had not gotten around to updating the price and would only sell it to me for the unlisted and unmarked increased price. I had a very disappointed 7 year old leaving the store. Will definitely not be doing business at this store again. Luckily we were able to purchase the game elsewhere for the price it was listed at game stop. read more

Megan decided to give away all the next gen consoles to people waiting at a certain entrance. We sat for 6 hours for her to tell us that we came in the wrong way even though we were the first ones at the door to GameStop because we came in through the MAIN ENTRANCE. There was no sign saying that we had to go to a certain entrance or anything. Absolute BS. We were first there and we got screwed. She was very unwilling to accommodate with us and acted like she could care less that we had sat in the cold for hours. The least she could of done was tell all 20 of us who got screwed that we had to wait at the other entrance or even a sign. They opened the main entrance doors first and we were second in line. The other entrance people came in behind us saying they were already promised consoles. She should be fired. read more

I went in there with my 6 year old son on Tuesday September 5th. At around noon. I ask the guy when exactly "Destiny 2" came out. He said "tomorrow". He ask if I was going to get it and I said "Yes, I was going to get it at the McMinnville store." He than ask why I wasn't getting the digital version. I said I didn't like too. Id rather get the actual disk. Than he continued to give me S#it and basically said I was an idiot for doing so. Than I purchased a Wiiu game for my son and ask if I wanted the 3 dollar disk protection. I said no than he would not shut up about why I wasn't getting it. He's like "reallllllyyy really. Realllly. So super annoying. The girls who run the McMinnville store are awesome. But after this experience I've decided I'm only getting my games from Wal-Mart. #!$& Gamestop. read more

This review is based off a number of experiences I've had there over the last year or so. I used to be a GameStop regular, even after I stopped working there many years ago. My girlfriend worked just above this shop, I worked downtown, and I found myself frequenting it as I waited for her to get out of work. Every so often I'd buy a game or something to enjoy at home at the end of the day. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not as serious of a gamer that I was back in the day. But I keep finding myself less interested in going in there based on interactions that I keep having with the staff there. While there's glimmering moments of hope when you can see a personality amongst their crew, it feels very much like they're robots just repeating what GameStop corporate wants them to repeat. I empathize for them too -- I worked selling TVs for a larger corporation, and was supposed to ask the customer if they were interested in particular services by displaying value subtly and in a genuine, personalized manner. But GS's presentations are like a bad car crash -- no value building, and it makes me feel like they're just looking for reasons to take my money. For example: I went in there a while ago to get a Nintendo 3DS charger. (Heads up, the "Newer 3DS" everywhere do not come with chargers. Sort of outrageous.) I also saw that there was a used PS4 game that caught my eye. I placed them both down on the counter, and watched the clerk ring me up. He told me the total. Math might be a bitch, but I could clearly see that either something was rung up wrong or I was being charged for something else. I asked him before paying, "Shouldn't the total be $$?" To which he responded, "Oh no, it's a little more because you have the damage protection on the game you're buying". Instead of asking me if I wanted a particular service, he assumed/decided that I found value in it and almost charged me for it without my permission. While it was only a dollar or two difference between what the total should have been, I felt manipulated - or was being taken advantage of. I assume that this is not Gamestop's normal store policy, but I was greatly offended. I had to ask him twice to remove it. Times before and after this particular experience, I feel like every time I buy a game, there's a half a novel worth of questions that the clerk needs to ask me. "Are you an Edge member? Do you want to be one? Are you interested in preordering a game? Do you have any games you'd be interested in trading in, we're having this and this special? Did you want to get damage protection on your disc?" and it goes on and on and on. What happened to the days when I could buy a flucking twenty dollar used game without having to see a truckton of spam every time I go to the counter? Game prices are reasonably priced, at best. They simply seem to match the minimal savings that console marketplaces already have. Trade in values are a bust, which is awful considering you can go to places like Game Crazy and GameStar that will give you twice the value in cash. I have not seemed to have as much of trouble at other GameStop stores in the area. In a world of digital game purchases and Mom and Pop game stores opening up around the corner, would it not be in GameStop's interest to try to keep customers coming in? I don't know what their game plan is, but I doubt I'll ever set foot in there again. read more
