    ginger salad and miso soup

Don't let the "Express" in their name fool ya, it's the perfect place to dine-in as well. It's been about 10 years since I've eaten year (yes they've been around quite a while!), and they haven't lost a beat. I ate here for lunch yesterday and received super service and high quality sushi. I've been on a bit of a low carb lifestyle as of late so I ordered the basic sashimi platter. It doesn't come with miso soup or salad however I was generously offered both on the house, incredible!! You can tell they really care about their customers from the way they interact with everyone. Did I mention that they also keep the place pretty darn spotless too?! Seriously, if you're ever in Fresh Meadows or near St Johns and are looking for some great sushi at an affordable price.. check out Ganda Sushi Express!

Awesome sushi selection. The place is a little subtle but friendly staff. This is best for carryout or pick up. Definitely authentic Jap resto.

Spicy Roll Combo. Spicy Salmon Roll, Spicy Crab Roll ane Spicy Tuna Roll

It ia a very small place, more of a take out place than a restaurant. I had the spicy combo. I lioe that the spicy tuna roll was actually spicy. Spicy crab roll also tasted great. The down side the rolls are very small compared to other sushi places. Service wise they are very feiendly and you feel welcomed.

Probably one of the better casual takeout sushi spots that I've been to with the prices being comparable or just slightly more expensive than your typical take out sushi spot. Came here on my birthday and was in the mood for sushi..... Lots of it.......decided to look around the area and lo and belong this place popped up. Went inside and saw it was a super small mom and pop shop, run by Koreans, which in my experience usually is a good sign as far as quality and freshness of sushi. Ordered a huge platter and went to town and was pleasantly surprised. Will defintely come bsck and try again to see if I can find a favorite combo or something

Best delivery spot and pick up spot in queens for sushi. They make it fresh and accommodating! I asked to make a sushi platter without sesame seeds because some people are allergic. They made the platter so nice and without sesame seeds. Thank you so much!

Only sushi place open during quarantine. :)

Good local sushi joint that is working tireless during quarantine. They are the only sushi place that kept their doors open while everyone closed down. Some may argue that their fish may not be fresh since distributors are closed but they sure tasted great to us. Lots of varieties and great prices. It's a no frills store but owned by a very adorable Korean hubby and wife. Very sweet couple and I would gladly support their business. If you can, give them some love too by ordering some take out!

DEFINITELY try the Nike roll, Morimoto roll and House Special roll!!!! You won't regret it

This is one of my favorite sushi spots! It definitely depends on what you get! The parking isn't so great but if you go around the corner, you're bound to find a residential spot. I highly recommend the Chef Special roll, Morimoto roll and the Nike roll. I've been getting these rolls nonstop for YEARS and they even memorized my order when I call! This isn't a place where I'd look forward to ordering their sashimi, but based on those three rolls mentioned above, it's the reason why I keep coming back to this place!

I used to love this place. It was actually the reason I developed a craving for sushi. My SJU classmates and I would come here multiple times in a week. I preferred this place over other sushi places because the sauces were the best and the rolls were made real fat. The guy who worked there was a man of few works but he was an amazing friendly cook who smiled at everyone. I'm not sure what happened to the people who used to co-own this restaurant (I'm assuming since they were the only ones there for ~5 years). Ever since they left and the new people came in we haven't really liked the way they make it - like every other restaurant. Still good though if you're looking for a cheap sushi place near campus.

I came here years ago and I've loved it. I left the neighborhood and came back years later, and it's still the best sushi spot in queens. No matter what you get here, it's nothing like other sushi spots. The kani salad is to die for and I usually order transformer roll. Both are A+. Highly recommended

As…read moresomeone with a severe gluten allergy, I was really excited to try out this place because I saw a lot of reviews online praising for the way the staff members handle food allergies. I went in right around opening time (noon) on the weekend - the outside is a bit unassuming and partially covered by awning but the inside was brightly lit and the lady at the register (I wish I asked for her name) was incredibly warm and welcoming. She was super enthusiastic about helping me identify which rolls would be safe for me to have. They also have a grab-and-go section where certain popular rolls and sides have already been prepped, but as long as you're willing to wait, the chefs are more than happy to make a fresh batch of a specific roll, even if there are already packed portions of the same exact roll in the grab-and-go section. I thought this was a really thoughtful approach to appeasing all customers. I ended up going with a Philadelphia roll and a Mango Tango specialty roll, which contained a combination of salmon and tuna, mango, avocado, and cucumbers. The ingredients were very fresh and I think the prices are quite reasonable. Without even asking, I was given gluten-free tamari sauce instead of normal soy sauce. The combination of the restaurant's extensive menu and how kind the staff were made this a really wonderful experience - I was very satisfied with my order and definitely see myself coming back again and again whenever I have a sushi craving. The only downside is that this is really more so a grab-and-go spot in general, as there were only two small tables in the entire store. As a heads up, they also prefer to take cash instead of card.

I asked for hot green tea while he got a bottle of Japanese pineapple soda. We ordered at the counter because no one was when we entered so we didn't know if there was table service. This spot used to be a Chinese takeout so it is definitely on the casual side. We sat at one of the tables (5 two tops). We had grabbed some disposable chopsticks and napkins from the counter. When the server came with the tonkatsu and tempura, she had napkins and chopsticks for us so I guess we didn't have to help ourselves beforehand. She then came with a lovely teapot and two small cups for the tea. The tempura was different from most places - no crunchy panko crust and no dipping sauce. When she came back, I asked about a sauce and she pointed to a small dish with thick dark sauce. I had thought that was for the tonkatsu. The poke took even longer and that was also different from what I'm used to. The fish pieces were not marinated - she gave me a small dish with soy sauce. The sliced jalapeño was also a surprise. I had thought I would get a spicy marinade on the poke. I mixed in the soy sauce and ate it with the sliced jalapeños. When we came home and looked at the receipt, the prices were weird. The tea was $1.56 and the $22 dishes were $22.88. Apparently we were charged a 4% credit fee which wasn't disclosed - or we missed the sign.

I hate to bring down a mom 'n' pop shop, but this place isn't very good. It's also kinda pricey for Forest Hills and for the quality you get. Sigh. The best dishes we got were the Oxtail Croquettes and the Crispy Salmon. Things started going downhill at the pretty but bizarrely flavored Forest Hills Roll, which inexplicably pairs salmon, tobiko, orange, chives, avocado sauce, and teriyaki mayo. I appreciate a creative/fusion roll, but salmon and orange should never, ever exist on the same plate. Ever. The worst item we got was the Chicken Udon. I'm not sure how aany Asian restaurant could mess up such a staple dish, but in Daikon's case, it's because they used Japanese SOUP udon, not stir-fry udon. As soon as the plate was set, I could tell it was the wrong type of udon, and the udon was massively overcooked. Yes, there are different types of udon and they are meant to be cooked in different ways. They are identifiable by their shapes, storage needs and preparation needs, a memo Daikon clearly missed. Points for loading the dish with veggies, but eating them within the soggy mess of udon was just unpleasant.
