Mango tango roll (left), Philadelphia roll (right)

I think I just found my new favorite casual sushi spot around the Forest Hills neighborhood! As someone with a severe gluten allergy, I was really excited to try out this place because I saw a lot of reviews online praising for the way the staff members handle food allergies. I went in right around opening time (noon) on the weekend - the outside is a bit unassuming and partially covered by awning but the inside was brightly lit and the lady at the register (I wish I asked for her name) was incredibly warm and welcoming. She was super enthusiastic about helping me identify which rolls would be safe for me to have. They also have a grab-and-go section where certain popular rolls and sides have already been prepped, but as long as you're willing to wait, the chefs are more than happy to make a fresh batch of a specific roll, even if there are already packed portions of the same exact roll in the grab-and-go section. I thought this was a really thoughtful approach to appeasing all customers. I ended up going with a Philadelphia roll and a Mango Tango specialty roll, which contained a combination of salmon and tuna, mango, avocado, and cucumbers. The ingredients were very fresh and I think the prices are quite reasonable. Without even asking, I was given gluten-free tamari sauce instead of normal soy sauce. The combination of the restaurant's extensive menu and how kind the staff were made this a really wonderful experience - I was very satisfied with my order and definitely see myself coming back again and again whenever I have a sushi craving. The only downside is that this is really more so a grab-and-go spot in general, as there were only two small tables in the entire store. As a heads up, they also prefer to take cash instead of card.

The octopus shrimp roll was fishy (yes I know it's seafood but it shouldn't taste fishy or smell fishy) if u understand what I'm saying. The sprint crab I didn't really like. It was crab with the sauce on top. The other places I go to it's crab mixed with the spicy sauce. Don't know if I'll be back to try anything else.

6 Pieces Shrimp Shumai, Philadelphia Roll and TMI Roll

This was my go-to sushi lunch spot when I worked in the area. A cozy place with pleasant employees and tasty food meant I was there all the time. It was so good, I even introduced my fella to sushi with this food and he became a regular! There are some grab and go basics, Cali roll, kani salad, that type of thing. But of course what you want are the fresh made rolls. I ordered shumai, a Philadelphia roll and a TMI roll. TMI is like a mash of all my favorite things, tempura, crunch, shrimp, eel sauce. Basic, but tasty. Definitely my spot for casual sushi in Forest Hills

Lovely establishment. The staff is extremely friendly and you can tell as soon as you walk in. They welcome you with delightful smiles and they know their customers by name. You can tell that they appreciate their regulars. The sushi was very tasty. Be mindful that it will be difficult to dine in with a huge party because the space is small. It's more for small groups/takeout style. Overall great experience, I wish I lived nearby so that I can come here more often.

Mix of rolls- highly recommend the "smokey shrimp roll" on the bottom right

Reliable, reasonably priced, and quick- what's not to like? In this area, I would say that Sushi Time is easily the most reliable sushi spot and it's pretty solid. My favorite roll was easily the smokey salmon roll as it's the "best of both worlds" with smoked salmon and shrimp. All in all, it's hard to mess up here!

Bling Bling Roll, and my mom got some kind of Spicy Tuna Roll.

A neighbourhood sushi spot from my childhood. They recently renovated their space. The sushi is very fresh and people are always going in and out the shop to pick up orders. I like to get their Bling Bling roll because it has the biggest variety of fish, more than a rainbow roll (I'm very indecisive). Kind of sad they don't have uni anymore but it be like that.

I've been ordering from Sushi Time for 10 years! This little gem has been such a staple to the neighborhood, we are so grateful it's just a short walk away. Any time I'm craving some sushi, I just come right over. The owner and staff have consistently been friendly through the years, it really is one of those local businesses you feel proud to support! Love this place and will continue coming regularly!

I was so excited to finally try these guys out and was surprised when my spicy salmon rolls came with a pungent scallion taste. My friend like their avocado roll- but for my staple basic roll, I was quite disappointed in mine. The staff is super nice of course and I believe everyone when they say their rolls are fresh, I just need to order it again to truly get that experience... sans the scallion overload.

Super friendly staff, fresh rolls, and great prices. There are only two tables for two people each, but a lot of people call ahead and order to go. You can also pickup already prepared rolls that they make throughout the day and display in the open cooler fridge.

The raw fish is very fresh and tasty. The miso soup is rich in flavor. In my opinion, this is the best sushi takeout in our neighborhood.

An Unforgettable Omakase Experience!…read more We celebrated the 4th of July with an incredible omakase dinner at Masaki, and it exceeded every expectation. Every course was beautifully presented, impeccably fresh, and perfectly balanced. From the delicate Red Sea Bream and buttery Scallop to the luxurious Toro with Caviar, Sweet Shrimp with Uni, and the unforgettable Eel with Foie Gras, each bite was a masterpiece. What truly elevated the evening was Michael, our sushi chef. He was warm, engaging, and exceptionally knowledgeable. He took the time to explain every course, the origin of the fish, the flavors, and the best way to enjoy each piece. His passion for his craft was evident, and his attention to detail made the entire experience feel personal and memorable. Dining at the sushi bar gave us a front-row seat to watch the artistry behind every piece. The quality of the ingredients, the precision of the preparation, and the genuine hospitality made this one of the finest omakase experiences we've ever had. Thank you, Michael, and the entire Masaki team, for making our holiday celebration so special. We can't wait to return for another unforgettable evening!

I honestly wasn't expecting much but the service based solely for the Omakase blew me away. The Omakase bar was in the back of the restaurant hidden away. The space was very open and the ambience was chic. This is a great place for date night, mommy night out, or group hangouts as they have private rooms too. Every piece tasted very fresh and were quite unique. The steam silky egg appetizer with crabmeat and fish roe was simple yet delicious. One of the dishes was an uni toro roll that was placed on top of our hands and was sprayed with edible gold glitter on us. That was a surprise and it was cute. And that uni just melts in your mouth. We had this matcha pudding with I think had an Oreo sprinkle in it was fabulous. They also surprised us with an extra dessert cause it was all 3 of our birthdays. Very enjoyable experience. Our sushi chef was very accommodating and made our birthday dinner memorable. We originally started out with the summer special of $78pp for a 12 course meal and decided to upgrade to the 14 course meal for $98pp. There was an option for a 17 course meal for $138pp but we were very full towards the end. They also had this $30 lunch and $60 dinner 3 course meal set for restaurant week. My friend's mom wasn't a fan of raw stuff so she ordered the Chilean sea bass with risotto and she wasn't a huge fan of it. The fish was a tad overcooked and the overall presentation of the dish looked more of a Chinese fusion dish. The risotto had that cheesy flavor but the presentation with the Bok Choy and the risotto looked more like fried rice and was confusing. I would stick with the omakase, which this place is known for.
