3/10/26 Very disappointing experience. I ordered two eel avocado rolls (with small avocado pieces), shumai, and sake. The shumai was okay but clearly microwaved. My sushi was wrong at first--just avocado rolls--so I had to send it back. Even when corrected, the avocado was huge and overshadowed the eel. My request for smaller avocado pieces was ignored, and the server was defensive. I've been coming sporadically for years, but after this, I won't be back. If I wasn't so hungry, I would've went to H Mart like I wanted to do. I was going to do buy the ingredients and make it myself. Rude Rude RUDE!!! Bad, Bad, BAD food !! Everything was disgusting and not good at all! When I walked in the order taker literally said "what do you want". She did not greet me or even smile. I should have taken this as a HUGE RED FLAG. I just figured that she was dealing with a bad customer so I stayed. I asked her a few questions and she was very impatient and beyond rude. At this point I started walking out and then she slightly changed her attitude. I ordered chicken wings and three rolls of sushi. Got food poisoning from pretty much everything. I mean, I should've known better. Like why would any self respecting individual think that they'd get quality sushi in Jamaica Queens? I've had this spot on my radar for a while now. I finally ordered on the website and picked up my food the other day and was definitely pleased. The rolls are yummy, fresh, and reasonably priced. I ordered the shrimp teriyaki bowl which comes with a small crab salad and a miso soup. All of it was DELICIOUS. So flavorful and tasty. I was full the first few bites into my bowl after eating the crab salad and the soup but the flavor made me want to keep going. The bowl had a lot of shrimp and it was still perfect the next day. My sister had the ramen. Loved it. Mother had the steak teriyaki bowl and couldn't stop talking about it. Needless to say I've ordered from here now 3 times in the past 2 weeks. Walked in and there is no place to stand, you wait in line (you will need a mask) and place your order. We ordered two sushi and one bento box(mine). The prices were reasonable and we were asked to come back in 15 minutes. I love the DIY contactless payment and pickup. We waited in the parking lot, looked at our next few places to eat, then picked up the order. It was packed with care and warm to touch. The sushi was a hit and since it was my first bento box, I can say it was good--not american style asian fair. I especially enjoy the small wasabi and ginger. So, this review is for service and appearance only. Ok, I took my food home and had a taste of their cuisine...I ordered and ate the seaweed salad, vegetable gotta and the dancing shrimp roll. The vegetable gyoza had an odd flavor... it may have been from the gyoza wrapper... it was green (I guess because I ordered the veggie) but it tasted like chemical and cigarette... I really can't describe it. I felt the green peas in my mouth but the flavor... The dancing shrimp roll was good and tasty. The ginger and was good as well. The seaweed salad ... when I got to the bottom it tasted and looked like maybe green zucchini or cucumber because the texture was different and the size was much larger than seaweed. Really good! I was actually surprised. The decor is really nice and the restaurant is super clean, it is very new and I hope the cleanliness of this sushi spot stays this way. We had California rolls, I forgot the the of my roll but it was shrimp with crabmeat.. and something else. It was truly delicious! My husband also enjoys his sushi. We also had a chicken fried rice, it was okay. I tough the sushi rolls were a lot better. Overall is was a great experience and since we live close by we will be regulars here :) read more

Chose to finally come give this place a try because a friend had been raving about it for a while and let me just say I should've came sooner! It was great on all levels, from service to food quality/taste! Delicious! Their Sushi is fresh, which is always super important and their hibachi meals are just as yummy! I tried the steak and shrimp hibachi, it goes for about $18 I believe and they provide way more food than expected! It comes with noodles, fried rice and broccoli! Still not open for indoor dining, so I got an order of Sushi Deluxe and Chicken Terakihi to go. Both came with either a miso soup or a salad. Got the soups. The miso soups were on the tiny side. Tasty but small. The Chicken Terakihi was also tasty, but seemed on the small side for the price. The Sushi Deluxe was fresh, tasty and was the right size, in my opinion, for the price paid. Order: Eel Don (Unagi Don), Beef Teriyaki Bowl, California roll, Spicy Crunch Salmon roll. Lets start with the 2 rolls. California roll - Basic, same as anywhere else. I personally don't eat it but the person who had it said it was alright. 4/5. Spicy Crunch Salmon roll - Again, pretty much same as any other take-out sushi place I've tried. Not the best, not the worst. 4/5. Beef Teriyaki Bowl - The beef was very tough given how thin they were sliced. Not too sure what happened. Maybe we just got the short end of the stick. Teriyaki sauce was the same as anywhere else. Nothing too special. 3/5. Unagi Don - Huge huge huge disappointment. I would never order this again. For 24 dollars, you would think you'd get more than 1/8th of an eel just thrown on top of white sushi rice. It was like 8 paper thin slices of unagi. Not to mention that I've never in my life had to pick out bones while eating unagi. Also, don't tell me that unagis are supposed to have bones. I've had eel for over 20 years of my life and even know how to prepare it myself. When the bones are pricking INTO my gums and roof of my mouth while I chew, there's a problem. Some of the bones were about an inch and half long. At one point, one of the bones actually pierced my tongue and I had to pull it out. As for the taste, below average. Which brings this one to a -2/5. Overall average 2 1/4 out of 5 stars. read more

This place has been opened less than a week and I have patronized them twice already- that says a lot for me! I first went here on their opening day which was Saturday May 18, 2019. Then I called ahead and picked up food on Monday May 20, 2019. Location: This is in the Franhill Shopping center (same place where Gabys Pizzas located) so there is ample parking. Interior: This place is designed beautifully. The booth make you feel like you are in your own personal hut. There is nice art work on the walls as well as throughout the place. Service: This is the type of place where all the workers will serve you and check in on you. They were friendly and super attentive. When I went back a few days later for food they remembered me which was sweet. Especially since the place had been packed when I went on opening day. The servers also were patient enough to explain things we were not sure about. Food: Yum Yum Yum! I've have had the Hibachi Beef Bento lunch box, terrayki beef lunch portion, Shogun beef fried rice (twice), fried Oreos with ice cream. I love that they have lunch specials every day of the week! The food was really good and they were not cheap with the portions which sometimes is the case with the lunch specials. The shogun friend rice is really good - we had it there and to go. Both times it was good and the portion was enough for us to share comfortably. The fried Oreos were so good! I'm drooling thinking about them. The salad dressing they use is different from the standard type you get at a Japanese restaurant. It is thinner, lighter and has much more of a kick to it. It's delicious!!! I loved everything I had there but their yum yum sauce. It reminds me of the tartar sauce from McDonalds Filet o Fish. Note that I didn't think anything I had needed the sauce anyways because it was all seasoned well. Cost: I mentioned the fact that they have lunch specials which is fantastic. The prices are reasonable and the food is of a great quality! Overall: I will be back! I have actually taken to the streets to encourage people to eat here because of the great experiences I had. They don't have liquor yet but they hope to get their license soon. They hope to have delivery in the near future as well. The sushi is really good, workers are really friendly, and inside the restaurant is really nice. Hillside/ Francis Lewis really needs a place like this. The wife, and I have to drive to Bayside, Forest hill, or Manhattan to eat sushi. Big plus because it's near home. We will definitely go back again. read more

I was in the area and came by because who doesn't love sushi. The decor of the place was the first surprise. We were seated in a booth that was well lit and had a beautiful view of a fake tree extending onto the ceiling. But the food!!!! I honestly wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. From the garden salad to the summer roll everything was perfect. The garden salad was pretty standard except their dressing was more garlic-y which I loved. The summer roll was delicious. The sauce they serve with it was tangy and paired well with the fish. The ocean roll and sweet potato roll were also really good.
