Was in the area and wanted something quick for takeout. Ordered the maki sets and the presentation's good. Most of the rolls were okay but we did not like the yellowtail rolls because the yellowtail did not taste that fresh... but I like that their rolls don't have fillers like cucumber and salad leaves.
Very tasty gyozas and chicken karaage. The ramen was okay. The presentation for delivery orders is adorable.
Cute little Japanese restaurant with multiple locations in the city. The restaurant is full of Japanese decorations that make you feel like you are in Japan. They offer reasonable lunch specials deals every day. I had the salmon ikura don which was delicious and so fresh! My partner had the shrimp tempura udon which he enjoyed and was plentiful. I saw people ordering the handrolls which are made like a taco and piled high with fresh fish. Definitely trying that next time!
presentation is really spot on and their maki roll pieces are HUGE! fish was pretty fresh but didn't enjoy the seabream piece. There were bones and the jelly on top was not a good combo. The toro and negi toro pieces were my fave. Got this catering set for $135. The delivery through DoorDash shifted all the pieces though so wish the packaging was better
Mikado is such a cute restaurant for sitdown. A lot of places are to-go spots in Kew Gardens and this is a nice place to have when you have friends or family over. Sushi is delicious, they come in less amount of cuts per roll, but the pieces are huge. The rice with beef is delicious and flavorful. My sister got the scallops roll and I believe it was salmon in a little fried cup as apps and she loved it. We shared the crispy rice and was not huge fans as the rice part was stale. Calamari is basic, you can tell its been frozen for a while and not fresh. Ordering take out for 3 rolls is plenty for a meal and it comes with a soup or salad. Tempura ice cream is always a fan favorite, decent for for green tea flavor and Tempura coating. Staff was super nice and attentive, made sure we had everything we needed.
Mikado is my go-to spot whenever I'm craving sushi. The quality is consistently excellent, and everything always tastes fresh and well prepared. The portions are a bit smaller, as most sushi rolls come with four pieces, and the prices are on the higher side. However, the quality makes it worth it for me. I especially enjoy their lunch specials, which are a great option if you're looking for a satisfying meal at a better value. And no visit is complete without their fried ice cream, it's absolutely delicious and one of my favorite desserts. Overall, great sushi, reliable quality, and a place I keep coming back to.
I know I've already written a review on this place, but it honestly is just that good. I love the maki rolls and they're always fresh, filling, and delicious. Yes, it is a bit on the price your side, but I'd rather pay a little bit more for better quality sushi then settle for mediocre sushi. If you haven't tried Mikado yet, you're missing out on Queen's best secret for sushi.
One of the best sushi restaurants in Queens. I love ordering the lunch sushi set from here. Recently we tried the lunch menu at the restaurant because I got a $20 off voucher from them one of the time I ordered delivery from them. We ordered two lunch sushi set which comes with 8 piece sushi and a tuna hand roll. We also ordered the fried chicken wing appetizer. Everything tasted fresh. The restaurant is decorated like you are at an izakaya in Japan. I will continue to order from here and will come back in person too!
Cute little place for a quick bite. The food was fresh and the service was good. The location is small, but perfectly comfortable for a weekday meal. The flavors are pretty standard for an American sushi place. The hand roll was served with the seaweed still wrapped and more like a taco than a hand roll,not sure if this is a new fad, but the taste was ok. The decor of the place is cute and welcoming.
Came here for vday dinner and didn't need a reservation. I love how extensive the menu was and how affordable!! The sushi was so fresh and delicious. We'll definitely be back!
I enjoyed my dining experience here with a friend. It's a pretty casual spot with modern wooden finishes and a lot of plastered Japanese posters, hanging flags, and lanterns give it that vibe. We decided to split a number of items and it was pretty affordable for the amount of items we got at a sushi restaurant. Service was overall good. May have to wave someone down for service if it gets super crowded and busy. We got the Premium Set ($48), which came with a Yuzu Salmon Salad, 8 pieces of assorted nigiri rolls of chefs choice, one hand roll of your choice, and a dessert of your choice. This alone would have been enough for one person. Love the Yuzu Salmon Salad and the selection of sushi was overall good. One hand roll was not enough for us so we got a Hand Roll Set ($27), which you get to select 4 hand rolls from the number of options. These come with the wrapping around the seaweed, so they're still dry when presented to you. May be a bit of a struggle removing the plastic wrapping, but it's done for a good reason. These I'd get again in the future. We also got the Truffle Mushroom Bacon Fried Rice ($24) in case we felt like it wasn't filling enough. This is a good option and it's a plus since it's soaked in truffle oil. Who doesn't love truffle?
Love the inside design of the whole place!! To the decorations on the walls, to the plate set-up & to the plating everything was just so well thought out. The service on a Friday night is quite busy I must admit. Crispy spicy tuna rice was divine, the chicken teriyaki bento set is a good value in terms of price and quality. Vegetables with the chicken teriyaki bento could be better. The matcha cheesecake was not too sweet, so good! I wanna come back for the lunch special and try their sushi next
Honestly probably the only good Izakaya spot around this part of Queens. There's a few in the neighborhood but this place was affordable and had some great menu items. Service and ambiance were also good. The hand rolls were packed! I would recommend this place just based on that! A great neighborhood gem. I definitely would recommend and would go back to try the other items.

This place is AWESOME. Amazing happy hour specials. Two rolls for $10. Deals on sake. Love it!! My salmon and tuna hand rolls were incredible -- fresh and jam-packed with the goods. The veggie gyoza were perfectly crisped up. We also enjoyed the cucumber salad -- nice and light! The chicken yakitori (happy hour special) was SO good. So moist and tender, and marinated in something yummy. Love the vibe in here with all the fun decor, anime figurines, and k-pop playing. I'm devastated I live so far away, or this would be my spot. read more

We really liked Mikado. The place is ran well. Very cute decor. Staff is great. They're busy with to-go orders and the tables were almost full, but they still did a good job with checking on us and bringing our food out at a good speed. The food is very good. We got 2 apps. The sushi tacos and the shumai. Both were good. Our entrees were very good. We got the lunch special Salmon ikura Don, a sushi lunch special that came with a tuna roll and an order of Braised short ribs. Everything tasted great, but the short ribs weren't as soft as i thought they should be. we shared a slice of a matcha crepe layered cake. We loved it. We will be back read more

Miakdo Sushi in Queens, NY is a super fresh sushi spot right in Kew Gardens Queens, NY. They have a great food and drink happy hour and the decor inside is super fun! It's cozy and inviting. I loved the special rolls and they even have hot food options. Very yummy! We wanted to splurge on a Sunday night and get some sushi from a different location. Digging through uber eats, we stumbled on Mikado. It didn't look like it would hurt the pocket too much and it seemed like omakase quality. The rolls are only 4 pieces but the pieces are quite big. The toro and scallop was my favorite. Honestly, they were all very good. I think we might splurge more often, since the 3 orders came out to just over $100 using uber eats. I think it's pretty good considering the quality. read more

So yum! I ordered for pickup as a treat and really enjoyed my maki rolls. It was great, packed and plump rolls that were delicious. It was so good I tried it again the following weekend. The second time i also ordered the crispy rice appetizer and a mini slice of cake, everything was yummy. Would definitely recommend dining in as the restaurant is cutely decorated. I loved this restaurant. Would recommend and go again. Great staff. Sophia and the chef and waitress were amazing . The caviar topped dumplings were too die for. Crispy rice good n tasty. We enjoyed our dinner here. Prices are reasonable, especially considering it's quality sushi, ramen, and Japanese dishes. The menu offers a wide variety of items without feeling overwhelming. Our waitstaff were happy to accommodate substitutions and adjust orders. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming. Not a lotta options for sushi in this hood so this is a gem. read more
I've long had my favorite sushi spots in the area, but after visiting Mikado, I may have a new top spot. They have happy hour specials daily from 4pm-7pm. We started out with the Happy Hour menu and indulged in the Sapporo and House Sake. We also got an edamame and Sushi Tacos. The edamame was good, I mean where can you go wrong here for $1. The sushi tacos were delicious, we should have ordered a 2nd round of these. Then onto the regular menu, prices are slightly higher than other laces nearby, but the quality is great. Both the eel avocado and and shrimp tempura were excellent. We also got a special roll, the Metropolitan, which included black pepper tuna with crunch inside and topped with eel, avocado and salmon; it was awesome. 4.5 stars Ordered through Uber Eats. It's pricier than your avg casual sushi restaurant, but the fish was pretty fresh and the portions were generous. There's less pieces but each one is bigger and has more protein. We usually order 8 rolls at Mikado..32 pieces total. We've had 8-9 rolls from other restaurants and we're usually not even full but Mikado fills us up and the rolls are so flavorful. The seaweed is a bit chewier than what we're used to but it's still good. I've ordered a few times and I've never had an issue. Go for lunch if you want a deal! read more
BLUF: Good; an upgrade from Akagi, but expensive. The Mikado chain of Japanese restaurants recently took over the space of Akagi Japanese Cuisine. Mikado upgraded the menu, kept Akagi's bright Japanese ramen bar style decorations, switched to low-sodium soy sauce, and changed to paper-based containers for take-out. We ordered a few things for take-out via Uber Eats for our first visit: - Mikado Deluxe Set ($42; $45.73 with tax) - Truffle Mushroom Bacon Fried Rice ($24; $26.13 with tax) - S-Bomb Roll ($18; $19.60 with tax) Mikado's food improves on Akagi's in that Mikado seems to do a better job with toppings, such as truffle, jalapeño pepper, lemon zest, etc., that complement and / or enhance flavors. The temperature of the fish was on point. Some execution could still be improved. The shrimp tempura roll that underlaid the S-Bomb Roll was very greasy. We really enjoyed the Truffle Bacon Fried Rice, but it was a small portion for the price. Other: Street parking can be difficult to find. read more
I can't speak to service or ambiance because I ordered food delivery, but just look at the sushi's packaging! It's the cutest packaged sushi I've ordered before. I got the spicy salmon and spicy tuna rolls, and both were great. The karaage alone didn't particularly stand out to me, but paired with the sauce, it was absolutely amazing. I had leftovers I saved for another day, and I'm not joking when I say I was waiting the whole day to go back home and eat that karaage. read more

Ordered lunch to go, the sushi is absolutely phenomenal. The salmon is so buttery and fresh. The decor is lovely as well, I cannot wait to dine in soon. Only downside is probably the price. I ordered 2 rolls for $17. I assumed each roll order came with 6 or 8 rolls. Unfortunately it came with 4 of each. Maybe I didn't read the description well because I was so hungry lol I will say, each individual roll was a bit larger than an average roll and, as I mentioned, delicious. Definitely will be coming back. read more
I ordered from Akagi Japanese Cuisine on UberEats. They were running a Buy One, Get One Free special on a few dishes, including the California Roll. To be honest, I wasn't especially impressed. The rice tasted a bit stale to me, but the rest of the ingredients were fine. I feel like it's not that hard to perfect a California Roll, so I'm not sure how great the rest of their sushi would taste. Since I didn't dine in, I can't speak to the service or ambiance. It looks like the restaurant has pretty good reviews, so I'm hoping the sushi is better for those dining in! read more

One of the hidden gems of Queens! Must visit if you are craving Japanese food! Location: It is located in Jamaica Queens. You can easily spot the restaurant because of it's cherry blossom exterior. The inside is super nice with a lot of Japanese designs. Service: they are super nice. They even gave me some complimentary appetizers. They are not rushing you unlike other restaurants. Food: Everything was delicious! SHUMAI: the color despise you, i thought it was not good because its too white but omg its very tasty! MISO SOUP: very comforting! SUSHI SASHIMI for 2: omg it's a lot of sushi and sashimi, they were all made fresh in front of you! Every piece they took time to make! It was a plate of goodness! TEMPURA ICE CREAM: omg this was good as well, i finished the whole thing! I love how cream the red bean is! And it was fried perfectly! Price rating: 7/10, it was not bad for food that you will get. Review for takeout only! Haven't tried going in person. It's a bit pricey but the sushi is excellent and honestly the only elevated sushi in the area. Their takeout boxes are really nice and presentation is awesome. Great option for higher quality sushi or a date night/special occasion. read more

Cute, quaint Japanese place with fresh high end fish and toppings to choose from. They had a wide selection of all my favorites... Uni, Wagyu, foie gras, toro, king salmon... I was in heaven. Will be back. Service was good didn't come around much probably because the hostess knew we were just catching up and didn't want to disturb us. read more
