Wide variety of clothing and food. Very comfy yet stylish clothing! Loved what I bought and their variety. Quality clothing

A favorite place to shop and browse with my daughters. The young staff is really sweet and always greets us. Trends towards quality, hippie apparel with a wide range of prices. The shop smells like pachouli and they carry Tibetan prayer flags, sound bath instruments, etc. Best prices in Newburyport for cheap but stylish earrings and sunglasses. We almost always walk out with at least one pair of each. They also have better quality jewelry in display cases. Really cool shop with lots of fun things. Jewelry, clothes, tapestries, zen stuff. A little on the pricey side for clothes, but some stuff is sustainable and fair trade. Always a fun time stopping in. The staff could be a but more professional, but they seem young. read more

What an incredible small business! After leaving the east coast and visiting 10 years later, I was so relieved to find that my favorite store from my youth was still going strong. The owner approach me and my family and offered my son a very sweet alebrije. He was so kind and very humble. This store is a must-visit for anybody stopping in Newburyport or the north shore. They have the most unique jewelry, tapestries, clothing and miscellaneous finds. Great business run by a clearly great human. read more

I guess I'm in the minorty, as I'm not a big fan of this store. One reviewer below mentioned how this place is reminiscent of the "head shops" of yore. Well, that assessment is spot on! lol! Perhaps it's due to the lingering smell of incense here, or the patchoulli, or the soaps and candles, I don't know, but we found the aroma in here somewhat off-putting. And the merchandise was also a throwback to what we called "hippie shops" of the 60's: lots of batik and indian sarongs and thin painted silk and the like; thin, hammered brass rings and pendants, macrame and string bracelets and necklaces; more hammered brass candle holders and lots of incense and candles. Perhaps I'm just an old fuddy duddy, but this wasn't my thing. The gal behind the counter didn't acknowlege us as we entered or browsed. I was surprised to read here how friendly the staff was, as they totally ignored me, my cousin and our teenage daughters. I did notice some beautiful hand-painted ceramic knobs for sale in various sizes and colours and patterns, all super reasonably priced. For me, this was the highlight of the store! There probably were some other nice items here if you take the time to explore the two levels and all the shelves, but between the heavy incense aroma and all the brass and macrame, we didn't stick around long to explore. read more

Very cute little shop in downtown Newburyport. Cute sundresses, boho jackets, etc... Fun mix of asian and indian culture. My favorite i the jewelry case with all the earring, rings and necklaces. Big big fan. You can find all sorts of cool things at Ganesh from alpaca wool sweaters to hand painted cabinet knobs, costume jewelry, broomstick skirts and more. It always smells uniquely of incense, which can be a bit much but it's part of the experience. I think this shop is a bit bigger than the Portsmouth NH store, but I love them both! read more

This is one of our favorite stores to browse in. The ambiance is one of the best parts of the Ganesh experience. Although you can find an incredible assortment of unique and different things here, they do have one of the nicest assortments of Indian imports around. The clothes are lovely - love the alpaca sweaters - and the table runners and decorative panels are gorgeous. Last winter I found a beautiful wool coat on the clearance rack in a soft, warm, lovely shade of blue-grey wool. An unexpected surprise are the shoes. They have a nice selection of very attractive flats that are reasonably priced, although they don't always have the size I need. Other things I love to get here: earrings, made with brass so even though I have a metal allergy, I can wear them without a problem; totes and bags - gorgeous. Every time we go there, we find something unique and different - they have a constantly changing and eclectic blend of accessories, clothing, jewelry, and home decor items, and everything in between. I've never gone in there and not found something I couldn't live without LOL.... often, it's several "somethings". read more

This is a cute shop, heavy on indian clothing, jewelry, and things that defy description (in a good way). The incense gives it a smell reminiscent of an old school head shop, and that sort of makes me laugh. I like the layout of this store better than the one in Portsmouth because of the high ceiling and skylight in the front of the store, but I'm sure that they both carry similar merchandise. read more

One of the cooler and less upscale shops in Newburyport, Ganesh features a giant selection of items from around the world at more reasonable prices. It's exclusively women's clothing here, alongside purses, jewelry and some decorative items such as candles and vases. All of the items are hand made and of great quality, Take note guys for when you're lady is prodding at getting her something with some thought put into it. When I step into Ganesh I am immediately transported back to my vacations in Bali.....The shop carries an array of products that make you want to throw away everything in your home....including your wardrobe and start over!...The perfect place to pick up a gift or to treat yourself. read more

This is a fabulous store that I've been visiting for many years. They have a great selection of beautiful jewelry (stone pendants, very neat earrings, bracelets, rings, also nose rings and studs), cute clothing, scarves, mittens, bags, coin purses, incense, beautiful large Indian tapestries, pillow cases, painted ceramic cabinet knobs and wine stoppers, and other cute items. The prices are fair and the staff has always been very friendly and cheerful. Cheap pay parking is located nearby but I can usually find a spot on the surrounding streets. read more
