I've been here many, many times. It is one of the best lunch places in Lander. Their burgers are good, the swiss piggy is delightful. The pizza is probably the best pizza in town and actually better than Tony's Pizza. I really like their Fish and chips, the fish is fried perfectly and is light and flaky. Really disappointed this time. I have Ben coming here for years and remember when it opened. I'm not sure if I'll go back. The food was cold. How do you do this with pizza and onion rings. Gannett Grill is a must-stop for anyone traveling to or near Lander. My wife and I enjoyed a relaxing lunch under the shade of the trees in the european-style eating garden. I am not sure how to classify this restaurant. It is not really a pub. A burger joint is probably the best description. When I walked in, the line to order stretched nearly to the door. When you order you give them a name and once the food is ready someone walks through to restaurant calling out your name. I think there is a better way to deliver the orders but it work ok here. The dining area is good for groups of 4 or 6 but finding a place for the 9 of us was a challenge. My burger was better than what is served at the fast food place in the next block but not the quality that you would expect at a good burger place. I would consider going back. read more

We came into town as we completed a road trip to Yellowstone and didn't quite know what we were in the mood for. The kind employee helping us out suggested burgers and and man that Montana beef did not disappoint! The waffle fries that came with it were crisp and flavorful and remained that way even though we stuck around chatting for a bit. I recently met a friend for lunch at Gannett Grill and we ate outside. A gift for my friend was accidentally left behind and after going back the next day, my friend was told someone turned it in but a lady working liked it so much she took it home. It hadn't even been 12 hours since it was turned in! My friend asked that it be returned. They took her information and said they would call. No one ever called back so I called the next day and asked that the item be returned to the restaurant. I was told everyone who was working the day it was taken would be contacted and the person who took it would be asked to bring it back. It's now been five days and the item still hasn't been returned. That's stealing. Even the animal shelter has a 5 day waiting period before they adopt out animals that are brought in! This is totally unprofessional and just plain wrong. Come on people, we can do better! read more

Happy they would split a lunch entree without an extra charge, we ordered the fish & chips plus a side of poppyseed cole slaw. Yum! Ok, my gold standard for halibut was from an Alaskan pub, but this was good in its own way. Crisp but not greasy, with seasoned waffle fries on the side. The slaw was perfect to me, although I did squeeze a little lemon on top. Not soggy at all, it was crisp and lightly dressed with poppyseed dressing. Attached to the Lander Bar, I would have preferred to eat at Cowfish, but they are not open for lunch. This was pretty good. Staff friendly too. Funny side note, we ended up eating at two places today where the waitstaff calls out your name when they bring out your food. This place has really good burgers and very tasty beers. Every time I come to Lander I end up eating at this place. They are almost always busy, but the food is really good. All their burgers also have a vegetarian burger option with no extra charge. There is a really nice patio outside that I enjoy taking advantage of when the weather permits. read more

On our recent trip through Wyoming, we found this establishment to be highly rated on Yelp - hence the stop for dinner. We enjoyed several of the salads and burgers. The food was absolutely FANTASTIC! This place has kind of an interesting set-up where you walk up to the bar and place your food and drink order, then find a table. Not a huge problem though, but kind of cumbersome for our family of 4 to get everyone to make up their minds on the spot. They have both inside and outside seating on picnic tables. The service was very good! This one is definitely a keeper! There is also a little walk-up malt shop right around the corner. Gannett Grill is a cornerstone of Lander. It is a necessary part of the community. However, since it has changed hands the service has gone way down and it is downright filthy. The pizza I had was just fine but the "service," which only includes someone taking an order was awful. Not only was she rude but a cheat... making me order another pizza, rather than allowing me to order a larger one. If I wasn't with friends and family having a good time, and if the Gannett Grill wasn't the only show in town, I would have gone elsewhere. read more

We were recommended by locals of Lander and Riverton, WY to try either Cowfish or Gannett Grill. Cowfish was only open after 5 pm, and it was lunchtime, so we went next door to Gannett Grill instead. I ordered the Swiss Piggy which was a juicy hamburger with bacon, Swiss cheese, and sautéed mushrooms. As far as burgers go, this one was divine. My wife ordered the Filly Cheese (a play on words to maintain the western cowboy-way) which was thinly sliced beef, grilled onions, mozzarella cheese, and chipotle mayo on a toasted, hoagie bun. My burger was delish, but I had a bite of hers and would have easily made a trade! We also ordered a Mad Greek Mediterranean salad with kalamata olives, feta cheese, and purple onions. This was a healthy side salad and although it was good, we were too busy salivating over the burger and Philly steak sandwich. read more

Food is good place and the food is pretty good and the atmosphere is good, but if your going to have a private party and expect to have enough food go somewhere else. It says unlimited food, but you get a small plate for a table of six. It costs twenty bucks for a sixth of a plate. If you don't want to have a private party though, the food downstairs is a good size. read more

Wow that was bad. Cafe style ordering, which is fine, and bus our own tables, which is also fine, but don't then they ask for tips on top of that. After finding a table I went to the bar to grab some beers. The bartender never did help me so I went without. My food arrived and can only be described as terrible. We drove into Lander, Wyoming and Yelp took us to the Gannett Grill. It was delicious. The burger I had was full of flavor (Wyoming Beef) and the salads my wife and daughter had were fresh and delicious. NOLS is near-bye and this must be a staple of the area. We stopped in Lander on our way from Yellowstone. We were looking for a good place to just chill, eat and drink and absolutely found that at the Gannett Grill! We sat on the patio with a great little atmosphere. It was dog and kid friendly. I loved that we got to have the local brewery beer. That made it fun to drink and kept us there longer. We had a couple pizzas and a salad and it was all delicious! Such a fun evening, I wish I had this exact little place in my hometown! read more

Their burgers have locally sourced meat, the pizza was delicious- had the good crust and they have great local beers on tap. Last night we ate in the outdoor seating area which was perfect. Came through here on a drive back home, and decided to stop. I had the Muey Bueno burger with Waffle fries. It was a strange time in the afternoon- around 2 p.m. So there were only a few guests. When I'm yelping from out of town, I hold places to the NYC standard; that is, would it still be open after a year in Manhattan? Because, if it isn't good, it isn't going to last that long in NYC with what rent is. Thankfully, this place can hold it's own anywhere, and would be popular anywhere it was. Burgers, Pizzas, and Salads all were very good, a touch overpriced, but it's really got no competition, so I'll let it slide there. Service is decent, make sure you're listening for them to call out your name or you might miss your order. Try the Swiss Piggy! 4* in NYC, but I'll give it the 5th simply because it's a gem in a town that you wouldn't expect to find something this good.
