It was a great price and considering it also came with one trip to the salad bar and soup. To be completely honest the hamburger steak was a over cooked with no pink. The breakfast menu here is fantastic, we always eat breakfast when we come here. I always order the mountain man breakfast and it's always the best!!! Their biscuits and gravy (IMO) are the most best in Fremont county, oxbow in lander does not compare!! The service is always a hit or miss, we've been lucky to get the same server every time we go. However, this restaurant does and will get pretty busy anytime of day they're open so be prepared for long waits and slow service. We love the restaurant so much we are always willing to wait. It's always a nice vibe when we dine in, it has a calming atmosphere even when it's busy It was very nice to eat here today, the food was great, the service was great but my bill was my issue. I was charged tax twice, I'm not sure why. My partner did not want to make a deal out of it due to breakfast being so wonderful but it sure made me wonder our bill was split the way it was even though we paid altogether. This place USED to be good... we won't be going back. Seems they are seldom open, but found a day they were. Ordered three meals. Waited for my soup bowl and salad bar plate - had to remind the waitress twice - finally got them AFTER our meals showed up. My meal was supposed to come with garlic toast - asked for it twice - NEVER got it. Gravy was tastless and my steak was FULL of gristle. Other meals contained sliced roast beef - FULL of gristle. First time at Trailhead during our travels thru the region. We arrived for lunch at 11:15 on a Thursday and it was packed. The hostess said it would be 10 mins but it was clearly going to take longer, so we sat at the counter. Our server, Kayah? greeted us immediately but warned us that the kitchen was backed up. By sitting at the counter, we got to see why: the kitchen crew was fairly inept. As we waited for our brunch, an entire table walked out, tired of waiting for their food. My wife and I each ordered the same: Meat and Cheese Omelette, which came with choice of cheese, choice of meat and choice of side. We added a coffee and an iced tea for $23.38. It arrived after 12 mins. Service: our server was clearly the only one hustling around. The other servers (and the cooks) were quite sluggish. Price: This meal was definitely a bargain, despite the time investment. Food: both of us enjoyed our omelettes. Tough to mess up but they didn't, so all was well there. Trailhead had great potential but I as overwhelmed with the climbers expo going on in town. My advice: when you know the date of an event, over-staff and adjust accordingly. read more

This place was the great. We stopped in for breakfast and I opted for my go to's: a veggie omelette with potatoes and a pancake. Everything was absolutely delicious. Right before I left I noticed the table near us ordered the cinnamon roll. Although I was too stuffed after finishing my breakfast I asked for the cinnamon roll to go. I heated it up right before bed and It was delicious. I'd definitely recommend Trailhead. read more

I came by this place on my way north to Montana. We were staying the night in this local town and saw this place was busy. Coming from a populous place where masks are absolutely mandatory everywhere; having a place like this which kind of discourages and shakes mask wearing is a little absurd. No one in the restaurant wore any facial protection although they did take some Covid precautions such as closing the salad bar and leaving some tables empty. Despite that, walking in, the staff were all around really friendly and they have a huge menu selection. One of the best things I would say is the fact that literally every single menu item comes with tons of add ons. All of our orders came with: Soup/Salad, Side, and Texas Toast. A bonus would be the fact that they have an all day breakfast menu so you can even request hash brown as a side. Today's soup of the day was Beef Noodle and it was pretty alright, but a little under-seasoned. I ordered the chicken fried steak and I felt it was about average. It was a little tough and I wish there was more gravy. Their hash browns and Texas toast was a delight. My family also thoroughly enjoyed their chicken fried cod and their chicken tenders. All of our meals were really filling and we were satisfied. Overall I would say this was a pretty good experience and I would look forward to coming back again next time I'm in the area. I can't even believe it's considered a restaurant. -waited 45 minutes to be seated. -skipped us several times for larger groups. -got seated at a dirty table. -waited over an hour for a burrito. -waitress came by and asked..."is everything looking okay" NO. WERE WAITING FOR FOOD STILL WHAT KINDA QUESTION? The table? -burrito finally came and it was just an omelet rolled up and shoved in a burrito. No flavor, no SALT. nothing. -requested for smothered in green chili and the chili was literally onion water. No flavor. Just very large chunks torn off an onion and drenched in water. I can't believe that it is even considered a burrito. Never again. Taco Bell was across the street and we were tempted to just leave. We're way better off there. The food was great but cold when we finally got it after 49 min wait to get a table. Being overran by rush and huge crowd made some staff cranky like our unpleasant waitress. The waitress for our next door table was super sweet and hustled to help us even. But everyone had a 'tude' in our view from hostess to busboy. The employees just are there. Restaurant and hotel can't staff up. Employee shortage is a blight on small states. The low minimum wage is driving good people away from small business service and hospitality! We had a wait due to 2 big parties coming in and them being understaffed, even once sat we waited over 5 mins for our waiter. He was very friendly just overwhelmed. The salad bar was decent and the soup. I was very disappointed in the chicken fried steak, greasy and flavorless. It was placed on top of the gravy. The mashed potato and gravy were good. This one, I've decided, was one of the pretty good ones. We just beat the dinner rush, so our group of eight was seated quickly. A family-friendly place and menu is important to us, and while the food was basic, there was a lot to choose from, and it was decent and filling. The young waitress was very good handling our group; she was attentive, and when there was a minor food mix-up, she corrected it. The service you get means a lot, resulting in my four stars. Happy Trails! A very solid, traditional breakfast in Riverton. My in-laws have been enjoying breakfast at the Trailhead for many years. This was the first time our kids and I joined in, and we were pleasantly surprised. Passing thru on a Sunday evening and found most restaurants closed so ended up at Trailhead. Hostess was rude and waiting area full at 5pm. Whole place seemed to be understaffed...perhaps they were surprised with a larger than expected Father's Day dinner crowd. Service was slow. Kitchen was slow. Wife ordered BLT and frys. I had open faced turkey sandwich. Not much real cooking for either but took forever. Again they were busy. I will say the food was good. No WOW factor but that was not expected with what we ordered so we were both satisfied with our meals. Shout out to the decorations. From the restrooms to the waiting area to dining area, you could see some money had been invested. As someone who does stained glass I will give the previously mentioned WOW out to the stained glass.
