We sat outside, the food was good but average. Service was fast enough. If you want a drink from the bar you have to go and order separately but that wasn't an issue. This was a very nice place that we found in this small town on our way up to The Tetons. You walk up to the order counter and pick out what you want from the board menu, order and pay for it. Then go find a table inside or outside. There is a huge patio outside with picnic tables and they bring your order to you. I ordered a sandwich called the Houlahan and my wife got a large mixed greens and chicken - salad. They were both delicious. Highly recommend if you are in the area. read more

Came here with some friends on their recommendation. Nice joint with a large outdoor seating area. Specialty is burgers, so that's what I got. I got a Swiss Piggy, which is more or less a classic Swiss + Mushroom, but with bacon on it too. One of my biggest complaints about many of these types of burgers is that they totally undersell the mushrooms, using only pathetic white shrooms that shrink significantly when cooked and that have virtually no flavour. I'm not entirely sure what mushrooms they use here, but they were pretty big and had better flavours than whites (cremini perhaps?). Bacon was crisp, and the amount and melt on the cheese was great. The meat is superb; you can definitely taste the freshness and quality of the local stuff, and it was really juicy and well-cooked. The waffle fries are hearty and filling with good seasoning on them. One thing to note is that in the summer time, the sun can really get you out there. There's a large tree or two, but especially in the mid to late afternoon, a large swath of the seating area is not shaded (unsure why they can't just drill holes in the table to put umbrellas in). Would not really recommend for young children or the elderly at these times. Prices are totally fair, good selection, pretty quick service all around. Parking can sometimes be tricky along the main street, but there is often some sort of parking along one of the side streets within a couple minute walk. read more

On a road trip from the Tetons to Denver, we happened to stop for gas in Lander and noticed Gannett Grill around the corner. "Local beef and beer" was right! Crust is king. Hands down best thing about the pizza- you can tell just how fresh it is from the crust. Creative names and flavor combinations for the different pizzas amp up the charm. My friend enjoyed the "bad hunter," a playfully named vegetarian pizza while I enjoyed the "millennium falcon," featuring green olives, sausage and mozzarella. Fish and chips are good here- the salads are eye catching and I enjoyed one but don't be misled- if you want pub food, get it or you'll regret it as you chow down on a Greek salad and your friends wolf down glorious varieties of carbs. Was in town to see Yellowstone and wanted a simple late dinner. The girl at the front desk of the hotel recommended this place as soon as we asked for a good place to go. I see why! We both ordered up burgers and waffle fries. Burgers were nice and juicy and the fries had really good flavor. I got a plain old cheeseburger but my wife got one that had thousand island dressing on it (almost like their take on a Big Mac) and it was really good too. I saw some nachos come out and I wanted to tackle the person and take them! They looked really good. In walked through the closed Lander Brewing Company where I was directed to the adjacent Gannett Grill by the friendly staff. Crossing the patio filled with old picnic tables I ordered a Swiss Piggy by a middle aged women with long white nails and tight white pants at the counter. I then crossed over to the Lander bar for the Jack Mormon Pale Ale. The bar had a small crowd of fit looking young drinkers watching the Olympics. I slipped my tasty beer as the cooks took turns doing one-armed pull-ups in the doorway and making my meal. My burger turned out to be more medium than medium rare but was juicy, hot, and large. Delicious. And while I am not a waffle fry guy, these were good. After his short workout, a young cook called out my name and handed me my plastic basket. He wore a big smile and uttered one of the most genuine. "Enjoy it, Man!"s that I have ever received. I did indeed. read more

Gannet grill really serves great food. It's good quality and I think you get what you pay for. It's on the pricier side but it's so worth it. I got chicken tenders and waffle fries. The chicken was good but the waffle fries might be some of the best fries I've ever had. Others In my group got burgers and they were plenty big and tasty. The pizza runs small. A kids pizza was the same size as a full size one (actually it might have been even larger than the adult one) . The drinks on the other hand were quite a mess. Almost half the drinks were out of order. Some didn't have carbonation and some were so watered down they... well... looked like water. I guess drinks are not the main part of the place but I guess it could relate to the workers not paying attention to the refreshments. We asked if they could help and they were nice and helpful about it. The service was good. We got our food in less than 5 min. Everyone was nice. The place had a bar/western/outdoorsy feel to it. This place has a lot going for it. Good location, off street parking, a great patio and a ready supply of customers (at least during tourist season). The woman taking orders needs a new career or a motivational chat. She clearly didn't want to be there. While taking our order, she didn't ask how we wanted our burger done, and when we specified, her response was "OK", without writing it down or making note of it. Decided to order out tonight June 4, 2022, from Gannett Grill. Worst decision I think I have ever made!! Ordered a turboviwich, all I can say is I hope I don't end up in the hospital. The pita bread was hard as a rock I think the chicken was old also. I usually enjoy the Gannett but After tonight I don't think I will ever go there again. We ordered a burger with guacamole and jalapeño, side of sweet potato fries, and the speciality pizza of the day, Thai Peanut Pizza. Atmosphere and service was terrific. You order from the counter, but they deliver to your seat. Fantastic outdoor patio space! Food was good- variations on classic items.
