In January 2019, I hired the Garage Door Guy's to install a door. 5 years later, my painter pointed out a sag and explained that two center struts, required by hurricane code, were missing. My invoice stated there should be four struts, but only two were installed--one at the top, one at the bottom, leaving the center unsupported. I contacted the company, and Chris, a partner, agreed that missing struts caused the crack in two panels. After discussions with the manufacturer, we settled on $300 for replacement panels, though I felt this was unfair given the original mistake. Despite this, I agreed and waited. After a month, I called back, spoke to the company president (who promised a callback), then a repairman returned and replaced the panels. When it came to pay, I was presented with an invoice for $400 instead of the agreed $300. The invoice listed $300 for parts and $100 for labor, though labor was never previously discussed with Chris. After some back-and-forth, I was told there would be no warranty on anything. I wrote a $300 check as promised. The repair person did quality work, but I was frustrated that I had to pay for correcting an original installation mistake. I expected the company to stand behind its work. They stand behind nothing and use unprofessional tactics to make you feel dirty every time they leave. Check the BBB rating. read more

Some of the rudest and most arrogant people I've ever spoken to in services. The guy comes in smelling of weed and dropping his tools all over the place. He's installing new springs in my garage in a careless fashion, and so I ask him to be careful as he has a tool belt with a drill and multiple screwdrivers pointing directly at my new car, and he says 'I've been garages with better cars. It's not my first day'. wow.. understood the attitude of this guy and decided to watch him, didn't want to leave him alone. In the end he says their company provides warranty on the springs, which includes replacement for 2 years if they break but 125$ labor (really?). So I ask him how their warranty is different from the manufacturer's warranty? and what's the brand of the springs? he says 'how does it matter to you what brand they are?", At this point I'm pissed and completely lost it and told him to fuck off from my home. who do these guys think they are? zero customer service! I call the owner and he's equally bad when I ask about the warranty and the brand, he says, 'they're made in America!' wow really? Must be fucking Trumpsters, No wonder the guy who works for him is the same type of shit. It all makes sense. Horrible guys. don't go with them. If anything goes wrong with the springs, I'd rather get new guys and pay the entire 500$ all over again. read more

I inadvertently backed into my garage door on a Saturday morning and my garage door was stuck open and obviously damaged. I had called Precision garage because I had used them two other times this year, but my surprise they came out could not actually would not work to get the garage door closed Therefore, my car will be stuck in the garage for a few days and the guy that came out told me he was only gonna do an estimate and he was not going be able to shut my garage. Literally it was cutting a cable and using a rubber mallet But the guy refused Therefore, my garage should be left open 4 feet with my car stuck in the garage and he would call somebody and they would charge me $200-$300 for a service call to close my garage or actually open it so I can get my car out I called GARAGE DOOR GUYS Spoke with Chris he sent one of his employees who came came right out when I called them within like an hour they gave me an estimate for a new garage, which was better than the other company and the gentleman that came out he helped me to close my garage and then open it so I can get my car out with no charge. Unlike Precision, who was charging me two to $300. This simply cut cable and use a mallet. Chris T came out installed my garage. Super nice guy explained everything to me. The service I received from garage door guys with stellar prompt on time. Excellent work and I so appreciated when they came out on a Saturday and and help me shut my garage so I can get my car out highly recommend them. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS! In 2018 I purchased 2 garage springs from them for the sole reason that they assured me they had a LIFETIME warranty with free installs. I paid $185 (which was slightly expensive at the time) but assumed it was a good deal since springs break. Fast forward to 2023 and 1 of my springs broke. Called and spoke to the owner on the phone (but I didn't mention the lifetime warranty based on other negative reviews concerning warranty service). They sent a technician who saw my receipt that says LIFETIME on it and said he can't honor that because "the economy right now and the price of springs is too expensive". When I complained he called his boss (the owner). The owner said to charge me a service fee of $185.00 to put in 1 spring. I complained and said they were not honoring their contract. I asked to speak to the owner on the phone and the technician told me to call him on my phone when he had him on his phone right in front of me. I tried to call 1 minute later and, guess what, no answer now that he knew my number and why I was calling. When I said I was contacting the BBB the technician called his boss again and then left. I called several other garage door companies in the area for a price to replace 1 spring. Guess what.......ALL OF THEM WERE CHEAPER THAN $185.00 and NONE OF THEM had a service fee more than $49.00. I had a spring fail. They did the last door opener installation so they were my first call. Their office was polite and told me someone in the field would give me a call. That person did and we set up the appointment. They arrived promptly and completed the repair in about an hour. There is an $85 service charge, but I don't recall being quoted, but I presume that a lot of others do the same thing or just charge more for the repair. Found via Yelp and other online review sites. Called them up and was able to get an appointment very quickly. The guys came out to do the tune up but advised the doors actually needed to be replaced. They sent me their catalog and the recommended door (and they didn't automatically suggest the most expensive one, they were honest about my true needs). I paid & did everything over the phone - super easy. The doors were delayed but they kept me informed and rescheduled accordingly. Did have an issue with one of the doors not properly shutting at the top. However, once I noticed a few days later & called them back, they immediately came out and corrected it. This company is the real deal. My garage spring popped and my garage door wouldn't open or close. Luckily, we did not need to open the garage door since the emergency latch didn't seem to work either which gave me time to get a few estimates. I had a friend recommend another friend that does garage repairs. His estimate was higher than most licensed and insured companies. Garage Repair Guys is definitely the most reasonable and they had availability as early as the next day. I decided to book two days out and was told I would receive a phone call for confirmation but never did. I called the office and my phone call was promptly returned. On the day of the service the tech called about 30 mins prior to arrival and the job took less than 30 minutes to complete. I called this company to see if someone could come out and fix our garage door on the same day within a 2 hour period. I was told that a tech would call. I waited 30 minutes and then called them back and was told that someone was on his way but was given no information. So then my husband called to get more details about what the service fee would be, etc. We were told it would be a free estimate. So the tech calls and asks what this issue is and we explained that when opening the door the manual rope got caught up into the opener and would not close. So the tech shows up and looks at it but then tells my husband that the garage door opener is burnt out... but the lights are still working on it still moves but it is just stuck, so how is it burnt out, and will cost you $350 to fix. My husband says well I am an electrical repair tech before we move forward let me take a look at it and if I can't fix it (if it's burnt out) then I will call you back. Now without my husband's consent to move forward, the tech (Rich) then keeps pulling on the string and loosens it but then tells my husband you have to pay a $50 estimate fee. My husband then replies "I thought it was a free estimate", the guys say no, I was just helping try to fix it, and my husband replies but I didn't give the go-ahead to do any work. So my husband calls the main office number but doesn't get an answer and the tech now starts saying that we don't want to pay him. Now if he had been upfront and said oh, the garage door is stuck and I just fixed the problem and that will cost you $50...It would have been no problem, but when my husband called him out on the situation, he stormed off and left. So then we called the head office and spoke to the owner (possibly) we wanted clarification on the situation. Instead, we were verbally attacked and he stated "YOU PEOPLE sounded like a headache from the beginning, don't call our company anymore, don't have anyone from your family or your friends call our company either. At this point I was livid. I just wanted a simple explanation and if it resulted that we had to pay the $50 then it would have been paid. The only reason I called this company is that they could get sooner than the first company we called who did ask for a $50 service call fee which I had provided my payment details upfront for it. So payment wasn't the issue here but the integrity and quality of service of this company are lacking. read more

They replaced an obviously broken part and then their guy told me after 30m he couldn't figure out how to get my old Liftmaster fixed and that it wasn't worth fixing, and that I should replace the opener as well as new springs (quoted hundreds of dollars). I called around to get a cheaper quote for a new opener + springs and had Garage Door Guys come out. When they got here, their guy was able to fix my existing opener within 5 minutes AND told me that my springs looked new and did not need to be replaced. These guys came to our house to put tension back on the door. They then proceeded to tell my wife that we needed a new motor because the "circuit board was bad". The door would only open 1/2 way. I took the belt off, adjusted to bracket and the motor opening and closing adjustments and voila it works just fine. When I called to explain this to them so they didn't look like fools in the future, I received an angry call back asking who was stating they tried to rip them off. He was rude, accused me of something I didn't say and my wife told me he was rude to her while working. Great customer service is not a priority, won't recommend to anyone. read more

Just had the Garage door guys come to my house and from the get go the tech was in a huge hurry, attitude! Cant believe that I have literally paid these guys Thousands of Dollar! (had them put in the lifestyle screen) Verbally went back and forth with the tech and he got in his truck and left. We made an appointment for someone to diagnose our garage door issue w/ one employee, got a call 15 minutes after our appointment time to be told our technician was given 3 new service calls & would probably not be by until 8 or 9. He said he would call the office & return my call to try to work something out. 6:30 we called to find out what was going on & to try to reschedule & I had the unfortunate & extremely unprofessional conversation with Sally who kept asking me why I was given a 6 pm appt. time & went on & I'm about why the previous person said this & that & instead of offering to reschedule she said the company wouldn't be able to help me. I asked her why not & she said because I was upset & the tech was just trying to help me. This company is completely unprofessional & Sally treated me like her employer has enough business & did not need to take on mine. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME with this company!
