As I was driving by the front entrance, I stopped and asked for directions to the parking garage. A nice gentleman directed me to turn around and make a left. Thank you Sir! Parking was not free. Special event rate was $6.00 which is very cheap. I paid it with my credit card. No in and out privileges. There were multiple floors in the parking garage. Aisles were spacious. Parking spots had reasonable space. Area was clean. I felt very safe upon entry and exit. Parking garage was only a few minutes walk to the museum entrance which was great. If I should return to The Smith Center for future special events, I will park here again. Thank you!

I often use this parking, especially in summer when it's a bit cooler being undeground. There are two levels and there are two elevators in the center of each level. The problem for those not accustomed to this garage is getting to the entrance. The entrance is a right turn from 4th Street just past Fremont. Street You must be going north on 4th as it is one way north. You go down a ramp and there are two lanes with gates. When you get to the machine, press the screen where it says Get Ticket. This prints your ticket with a bar code for checking out. You then make a small right cruve to enter parking level 1. If full, you can go down to level 2. The elevators are not much of a walk no matter where you park on your level. Keep the ticket with you. When you leave, there are two kiosks near the elevators. You have two choices--send a text to the number on the ticket and pay with your phone or scan the bar code at the kiosk creen. Then insert your credit card and pay. You have the option to get a receipt. This is always a good idea. Once you have paid, you have a half hour to leave. When you get to one of the three checkoput lanes, scan the bar code in front of the screen and the gate will open. Then it's a short uphill and you come up from the garage near 4th Street and Ogden. It's very convenient. GThey have raised their prices as elsewhere. It used to be that the first hour was free. No more unless they don't advertise this benefit.

Entrance is like blink or miss it and goes down quickly. There is a height restriction, so if you have a tall vehicle check 1st. I did see some trucks in there, though. I have a small SUV crossover and get around fine. Lots of spaces and easy to walk to the elevators (if they are working) or the stairs. Restaurants vary from 1st - 3rd floors, which will require escalators if the elevators don't work as they didn't today. Hopefully they get fixed soon!

Once you exit, it will be considered as one day's parking. It's a hidden gem because it's right on the Las Vegas strip close to The Showcase Mall and right across the street from The Eaterly. Very easy to park. Pretty safe. Lots of spaces to choose from. Prices are very reasonable. Even if I'm not staying at the hotel, I would park here for the day and walk to where I need to visit on the Las Vegas strip. On a Sunday morning, my family and I had lunch at How Ya Dough'n at the BLVD. Looking for parking…read morein the area, we noticed that there was the BLVD parking facility located on South Las Vegas Blvd. It's part of the new BLVD on Las Vegas. It will have shopping, dining, and entertainment in the complex. Right now, there were only a few shopping stores, and How Ya Dough'n at the top of the BLVD. They have over 1300 parking spaces. This includes free self parking as long as you plan on shopping or dining and obtain their QR validation at the stores. This is a nice departure from most of the strip garages where they will start charging you the minute you drive into the garage, unless you're a local. The overall flow of traffic in the BLVD parking area is much better managed than many other areas along the strip. The area includes designated pick up/drop off locations for ride share services as well as directional signage that directed me to the exact location I needed to be. Overall, the combination of convenience and the atmosphere of the shopping and dining area were a good match for the rest of the BLVD Las Vegas space.

They charge $6 for parking during events you attend at the Smith Center and will have extra employees on hand for extra assistance with traffic flow. Here we have the Trop Stop at the corner of Tropicana and Decatur. It is much more than just a gas…read morestation and car wash though. It is the best entertainment value in all of Vegas and it's free if you choose to be daring and adventurous. We have a daily show of interesting characters that you will inevitably get to meet whether you want to or not. Every demographic is represented on this street corner. Are you introverted and choose not to be approached out of the blue? Probably not a good idea to stop here. You will be approached and there will be a hustle but hey I'm from Detroit and our slogan is Detroit hustles harder. It kind of feels like home just with sunny skies and palm trees. I'm assuming the real reason you probably stopped here was to get some gas and/or a car wash. There is also a Mexican restaurant attached that has some pretty legit tacos. On Monday they are two dollars each. Inside the Trop Stop don't forget to try your luck on a slot machine while you get your pop and smokes. How could you come to Vegas and not want to gamble inside a gas station or your local Smith's grocery store? Much like Jetway Jesus performing miracles at the airport the Trop Stop performs its own version. Pulling in to get gas this most recent trip I saw a gentleman sitting in the middle of the island between two gas pumps. He appeared to be down on his luck and had a set of crutches next to him with a creative handwritten sign imploring people to help him out with either drugs or money. I'm sure the drugs were to control the pain since there were crutches involved. Well folks this is when the miracle happened. I was on the other side of the gas station and saw the down-on-his-luck fella get up and start sprinting over. No crutches involved but he was determined to come over and say hello. How friendly the folks in Las Vegas are! I politely declined citing the need to be left alone. He looked dejected but went back to his place in the middle of the gas pump island where apparently the miracles happen. Inside the lady working behind the counter seemed to hate her life. I politely mentioned to her that there was so many nice people outside that were welcoming and she seemed even more sad after that. That's OK because there is enough happiness left for the rest of us but only if you make it a point to stop at the Trop Stop!

The car behind us the guy got out and was like "do you know what's wrong? Why isn't it going?" I looked up the spot on Google hoping for a number to call but none was listed, signal was low and it was taking forever for their website to load to try and find one on there. Finally an attendant came and said "your car wash timed out, you need to have an attendant guide you in, I'll have to go reset inside." Well... I've never been here before, who'd have known I need an attendant, there was no one there when we pulled up. Ugh! Whatever, finally we get to go through the wash, some brushes weren't working, the fans at the end didn't do much and we drove off in a dripping wet car. At least now I know which car wash to stay away from!

I've been living at my house in Summerlin for 7 or 8 years…read morenow, and anytime I had to go to the airport, I'd bother someone to give me a ride (30 minutes) or I'd drive my car and park it at (or near) the airport. Both are annoying solutions. So last year they built the Westcliff Transit Center, about a mile from my house, and the WAX bus takes you all the way to the airport for $2. I'm a fan! It's not the biggest or the best bus station, but it's new and pretty easy to navigate. And there's a great convenient store/gas station across the street.
