It's been a long time since I've written one of these, but after my experience at Garage Vintage/Art District Antiques, I had to come out of review retirement and post some praises. I had been looking for the perfect mid century mod dresser for a long time, and decided to swing by to see if they had anything that matched...and low and behold found exactly what I wanted as soon as I walked in! I would have walked away with a lot more (there are 2 shops across the street from one another), but you know...budget. The customer service was great! The woman at the front went above and beyond to make sure I got this, even after I had to run home to re-measure (ended up buying a much longer dresser than anticipated). The delivery price was very affordable (compared to other vintage shops I've been to), and my dresser was delivered that night. Took 15 minutes. A+ selection. A+ pricing. A+ customer service. I will 100% be back! read more

This place is pretty cool, its like somebody for years and years rummaged through thousands of flea markets, thrift stores, garage sales and antique stores and brought all the good stuff here. I would say that its more of a museum of knick knacks and vintage items that you can actually buy. Even if you dont buy anything, this place is still fun to look around. read more

Yes! All of the yes. I completely adore this spot in the Denver Arts District! I collect vintage glassware for dinner parties, particularly of the amber and gold variety, and Garage Vintage knocks it out of the park in this category. In addition to vintage glassware, this is a treasure trove for retro kitchenwares (salt and pepper shakers, etc) and midcentury furniture. Even the outside of the shop is super rad, with bright red walls and a Mona Lisa sign. You can't miss it! Prices are a little higher than what you'd see at a Flea Market, but the shop is so well curated that I usually think they're worth it. The owner and her brother are super cool too, which makes it even more fun to support. Tip: If they shop is closed, try their sister shop, Arts District Antiques, across the street. The owners are usually in there and will open Garage Vintage for you. read more

The hubs and I own a mid century modern house and just purchased a new dining room table. I was looking for funky dining chairs like you would have found in an old diner. Garage Vintage is one of two buildings owned by the same person so I found a sign on the door saying to go across the street. I walked through that building but it didn't quite have the vibe I was looking for. The employee took me back across the street and unlocked Garage Vintage for me to look at. I had the store to myself and loved looking at all the vintage treasures. While I did not find the chairs I was looking for, I did find vintage metal drink coasters and a funky fruit bowl that went home with me that day. read more

I swung into Garage Vintage during a recent First Friday adventure and really enjoyed what they had to offer. The specialize in mid mod decor and they truly have a fun selection of furnishings and bric-a-brac for your home. Garage Vintage, however, carries one thing specifically that I love and that's old cameras. I have a collection that includes everything from a Brownie Hawkeye to a standard Polaroid (yes I still have film for it) and I'm always looking to add to this collection. Garage Vintage had several options for me to peruse and they were in really good condition. They also carry plenty of original record players, kitchenware, and even jewelry and purses from eras past. And everything I eyed seemed quite reasonably priced. While it's not necessarily an art gallery it's definitely worth a stop in during First Friday and they do a cocktail hour every Friday from 5 - 7 pm according to their Facebook page. read more

I adore mid mod decor and for that reason my wallet and I absolutely adore this store. Garage Vintage has been the most reasonably priced vintage/antique shop that I have found in Denver and elsewhere. They're not firm on all of their prices, so don't be afraid to ask if they're willing to deal. Just this past weekend, they were willing to knock off 10% for my new-to-me mid-century dining table and chairs. They were willing to cut a deal on the green glazed ceramic owl figurine, too. Unlike a lot of vintage shops, you won't be digging through piles of junk. Every item I saw in the store (and items stored across the street) were in excellent vintage condition and deserve to be in someone's home. Oh, and if mid mod isn't your thing, Garage Vintage has plenty of other styles of furniture including lots of shabby chic and Hollywood regency gems. read more

I love this place so much. Sure I've gone in plenty of times and walked out empty handed, but MAN have I found some glorious pieces of furniture, decor, jewelry, random whatnots, etc at this store! Art district Antiques/Vintage garage has my number and I'm not mad about it!!! So appreciate these good people who are crazy fun to talk to about the hunt and what they've seen over time, and will be back again and again and again. read more

This is cluster of fun and fancy. Where cool retro dressers and bars rule and funky jewelry tempt you at every turn. The store is laid out really well, which makes it even more difficult to not walk out with something. It's as if it's the vintage West Elm - laid out so casually, but perfectly thrown together to create the coolest house reminiscent of Don Draper's apartment and every grandmother's kitchen you've encountered. You know, the bright colors and tacky clock on the wall? Yeah, those kind of artifacts. Pretty much the best stuff from all the best decades dating back to what seems like the early 20th century. I only saw a sliver of the whole pie and can't wait to really go antique diving soon. The clerk could've been a little more present and helpful, but what can you really expect from a store like this. With all the awesome stuff around, help isn't really necessary. read more

Love this place! My husband and I purchased several mid century style items, a chair, footstool, magazine rack, and desk. Reasonable prices, good selection, convenient location. They even delivered the desk to our home when it wouldn't fit in our car! Really sweet owners. I really appreciate them doing that! Be sure to step into the other antiques place across the street from Garage--same owners and even more great stuff! Seriously, I need a bigger place so I can fill it up with finds from this store. read more

We popped in here during First Friday last weekend and I walked out with a purchase. Nice. It's pretty expansive, has a lot of midcentury stuff which I'm into, and has an interesting feel - it's a little more expansive than your regular vintage store. Perhaps it's just the high ceiling. The "booths" don't really feel like booths, and it's easy to maneuver without knocking into anything. There were some awesome blue pendant lights on the floor marked Not For Sale which kind of peeved me - why leave something out if it's not for sale! read more

The shop is fine, nothing I couldn't live without but they had some pretty good stuff. The reason I'm giving it the lowest rating is because of the customer service. Completely ignored when we walked in, completely ignored the whole time we were shopping and not even a "thanks" on the way out! Nothing! Customer service is everything and I don't need to be treated like that. What? Am I not good enough to shop in your store?? All I do is shop vintage for our house and I won't be going back there. I'll go somewhere that will appreciate my business. read more

I love the vibe of this place. Always something new to find and same with the store across the street. I found a sweet bronze unicorn statue there and some unique chairs for my kitchen all very reasonably priced. If you like decorating with a flair I would suggest this place as well as their sister store Art District Antiques which like I said is across the street. read more

We stopped in on Saturday and found 3 stunning pieces for our home which we are restoring to its original grandeur...sloooowly but surely. This place is a little gem chock full of unique quality furnishings at very reasonable prices. The cool European guy who owns it is super knowledgeable and an absolute cutie (I'm biased because I'm a sucker for charming accents plus he gave me 10% off because I bought all 3 pieces). Then he sent us over across the street to the antiques mall he also owns called Art District...incredible selection of cool finds. Very friendly staff here too, I bought 5 more pieces there. Bottom line is I left way more money at 8th & Santa Fe that I was planning to, but I couldn't be happier with my finds. I Highly recommend this two places. read more

Amazing selection, and really great prices on mid-century furniture! I went there hoping to find a credenzena with some gold tapered legs for my dining room. Not only did they have one, but they had three that were gorgeous, great condition, and all under $280 each. Great prices for a huge pieces of furniture like that. Other ads on Craigslist for similar vintage pieces had people asking $1000 - $2000. Also great items for decorating, kitchenwares, etc. all in the mid-century modern style. I'm purchasing all my furniture from here from now on. For example, you can get a mint condition modern dresser for $150. You can *barely* buy a dresser from Ikea for that price. And that's one with zero character, that you have to build yourself, and typically will fall apart after one move. Or for $150 you can get a sturdy dresser that's been around for decades and is built to last. I can't wait to go back. read more

This antique store has good merchandise, but bad service. My daughter and her three friends were out on the Friday night art walk, and stumbled into this store. With a wide variety of merchandise, it was appealing to explore. As my daughter is getting ready to go off to college, she was shopping for her apartment, and found a few good things. Unfortunately, from the moment they arrived, the owner profiled the three 18-years as unworthy customers, and ignored their need for service, and responded rudely to all of their requests or questions. While not offering any assistance at all, the owner ignored requests for pricing or for further information about some of the products. My daughter asked to place a $39 box on hold for an evening, in order to check with me on pricing before purchasing, and the owner brusquely declined. She said "they do not hold on weekends". Ok well, you lost the sale too. In addition, once my daughter placed the box back in its original place, the owner asked where she had put it, it seemed in an attempt to move it elsewhere or almost hide it from my daughter. The entire experience left the three feeling as if they were unwanted customers, despite the fact that they actually made purchases (unlike other lookers-only in the store). No service was offered, nor assistance, just skeptical, cold treatment, as if these three did not matter. How foolish. The three girls collectively far outweigh this owner's net worth, no doubt, having just returned from a stay in the Four Seasons in Vail. Despite being treated so poorly, the girls actually purchased a few things. After making the purchase, the owner responded "you finally made a decision, I see", as if weighing the pros and cons of an antique acquisition were unreasonable. Given the girls' account of this experience, we won't be going back or recommending this store to anyone else in our circle of friends. read more

I truly like this place. As other reviewers have said, they specialize in mid mod decor, which I love, and every time I go into the store I come out with something. The store is easy to walk around in - unlike other places, and I've always experienced great customer service. I was looking for a lamp for my apartment and the guy working helped me find the absolutely perfect piece. Very attentive. They also have a periquite who is awesome! read more

Such a cool vibe. Vintage, charming, quality pieces without that stuffy and detached antique-mall feel. I just graduated from college and was hoping to decorate my first grown-up apartment with unique pieces that wouldn't break my bank. The employees were so engaging and creative! They showed me around but weren't at all pressuring me to purchase anything- the owner even told me she graduated from the University of Chicago with a literature degree so she knew what it felt like to just window shop for the first few years haha. Luckily there were a couple of really perfect pieces (a BEAUTIFUL floor lamp, Art Deco bench and a MidMod desk) that fell into my budget.
