I don't normally write reviews but I have hardly ever enjoyed a restaurant as much as I enjoy Garcia's! My partner and I go to school in Campbellsville; neither of us eat meat and I myself am fully vegan. We share an order of vegetable fajitas with cream and cheese removed-- this portion is large enough for two! Service is exceptionally quick and we usually get our meal within ten minutes no matter how busy. We like to take our meat-eating friends and family here too and they enjoy their meals as well. ps. They have a house made spicy salsa that is great if you love spice! read more

I had heard good things about this restaurant, but what I'd heard didn't match my experience. I always order fajitas; I ordered veggie and my companion ordered chicken & steak. What I got was grilled veggies. There was no fajita spices/flavoring. That was again true for my companion; she got grilled meat, not fajitas. Additionally, her steak was sooooo thin it was like deli meat thickness. Pathetic! Service was also subpar. They were busy, but I'm taking that into consideration. My companion ordered a margarita but was never asked if she wanted another (money lost!). I had to catch someone walking by to get a refill on my water. We wanted an extra dish of salsa, and I think part of the difficulty in getting it was a language barrier with one of the runners, it definitely wasn't with our server. There salsa was really good. We were given a very limited menu. The people across from us has the full menu. We order the combo fajitas because that was about the best thing on the menu we had to work with . I normally would have ordered Chile Verde or carnitas. portions not huge but ok. The beef ? Was so thin I thought they used Arby's leftovers. It was tough as well . The chicken was good until it cooled off . I loved the rice and beans and salsas . We have been there once before and we're not thrilled . The place we usually go was closed. This place has always been my favorite Mexican style restaurant, the best chips and salsa, and absolutely delicious grilled steak fajitas, with friendly service. But this has changed now. As you walk in they hand you a large menu and you stand there while they wait to place your order at the counter, which is awkward, then you're given a number to sit on your table They have runners who come over with chips and salsa, and then eventually bring your food, they didn't converse with us. The drinks are a self-serve station, plus that includes your own refills too. The steak in my fajita was cut paper thin and chewy. They've lost the friendly atmosphere, and sit down experience. Last time I went the food was good but I won't come back since it's not really a sit down restaurant anymore... the drink fountain is up front in a way where u have to get your own drink which is fine but you have to order your food up front. If I have a hankering for chicken rice and cheese that actually has grilled chicken breast then I may come back but hopefully they change back before Covid! read more

First time there as we are new to the area. Husband got the beef burrito mexicano and enjoyed it. I got a beef burrito and chicken quesadilla a la carte and was NOT impressed. This breaks my heart writing this poor review of my favorite restaurant in Campbellsville, but this is the third visit in the past six months that was not what my family had been customed to with Garcias the past decade. My family has observed that management must have changed as we no longer recognize anyone that works there. Not a single soul. I will only discuss tonight's experience, but the first two incidents in the past six months I was speaking of were entirely food related. Tonight's experience was food, drinks and service issues. First, our waiter was slow and non-existent for long periods of time. Second, I always order the same beer on tap, which is Modello. It is on the menu and is always served perfectly. Tonight, they were out. So I ordered Pacifico which is also on the menu. But yet again, I was told they were out. So I settled on Dos Equis amber, as they don't serve regular Dos Equis. Although it is not the beer of my choice, it was served just fine. For me, beer is everything when I eat at a Mexican restaurant. The salsa that came with the tortilla chips was thin as water. So we passed on enjoying that ritual. I usually order either the Pasta Altena or the Garcia's Nachos. On my last visit, the Pasta Altena seemed to be not quite up to the quality of what I had enjoyed in the past, so I ordered Garcia's Nachos which is difficult to mess up. However, I was wrong as they managed to ruin them. They are now putting potatoes in the nachos. It ruined a perfectly good dish that I had enjoyed in the past. Potatoes are not an ingredient I expect in nachos. My wife had the shredded beef chimichanga. She said it tasted like bland, boiled meat. As I said before, our waiter seemed to disappear for long periods of time. Thankfully, the manager walked by at one point and saw my empty mug and asked if I wanted another beer. I eagerly shook my head yes. I have enjoyed this restaurant for over a decade, so we will give them one more chance in the future. But only one more. It is a shame that this once great restaurant has deteriorated to this point. read more

Have always been a fan of Garcias but in the last year it has gone completely downhill. You walk in now to rude servers behind a shield as though they are too afraid to be near you. You awkwardly stand there, figuring out what you'd like to eat, place your order, pay for the bill, then they hand you glasses to make your own drinks. They eventually bring your food, very unfriendly as though you are a pain in their ass and they never look or speak to you again. The food is outrageously overpriced. The end to this pathetic experience was a long black hair tangled through the broccoli. We will never be back. ZERO STARS!!! read more

Garcia's is a restaurant I always eat at when I am in or near Campbellsville. The food is always great and so is the service. I have eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants and I would rank Garcia's at or near the top. I just wish I didn't live 1 1/2 hours away from it. read more

The absolute best fish tacos I have ever tasted. Hands down. They start with a fried grouper fish, then top it with cabbage, and avocado. The secret, however, is in the sauce. I usually don't get too excited about food but these fish tacos always make my day complete. If I'm traveling through Campbellsville, this is a must do. I use to love to come to Garcias! The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was well seasoned and prepared with pride for the Mexican heritage. But not anymore. Last night I experienced not only the new menu but the new attitude as well. The fajitas were a big disappointment. The meat was tough, not seasoned. The rice and beans were tasteless and barely warm. Even the tortillas were cheap and tasteless. To finish the evening off the table across from us had a ten dollar mistake on the bill as did several others. I am sad about this. One guy refused to acknowledge he spoke Spanish despite his heavy accent (by the way I'm Hispanic) the wait took forever and the food is dismal. I was traveling from out of state and I ordered a steak burrito with rice and refried beans and it was the worst burrito I have ever had. I had to send it back twice and it still wasn't correct. I ended up with a burrito with no rice and no beans and what they call steak was flat pieces of meat that looked like Beggin Strips for dogs. Delicious, very flavorful food and the atmosphere is amazing, I enjoyed the decor of the restaurant.

Food is very sub-par. Went twice in four months. Overcharged for rice both times. Took it off the difference the first time. Second time, the additional money is a "take out fee that is automatically applied to the lowest cost item. " he is LYING and STEALING from everyone who purchases a la cart rice. We've ate here several times and not once have we had a bad meal. The service has also been great. My favorite things to order are any of the quesadillas, salads, and of course a margarita. I had the ground beef taco salad, my grandson had the nachos. The taco bowl was stale, not crunchy. The taco was watery. The nachos were watery also. I love this place. The staff is super friendly and attentive every time we go there. I am from California which has some of the best Mexican food in the country so I have pretty high standards. Just a heads up, I am a vegan so I can only speak for a couple of items. I usually get the vegetable fajitas w/o sour cream but extra guac or the vegetable burrito w/o cheese and red sauce instead of cheese sauce on top. The are both really good! This place is a must try whether you are a local or just passing through. read more
