I needed some dry cleaning done for an upcoming event. I read many reviews online for dry cleaners…read morein the Pensacola area. None of them seemed stellar. I chose Vicks Cleaners at 2915 W. Navy Blvd, the main plant, even though I live off Nine Mile Rd. I explained my timeline to a very nice lady named Vanessa. She said the items (two suit jackets and a pair of pants) should be back before the end of the week, but told me up front that was only an estimate. She explained an option to rush the items for an extra fee and they would be guaranteed complete by the end of the following day. I was happy to pay the fee since I needed them over the weekend. I returned to pick the items up today. There was no problem at all. The jackets and pants are perfectly pressed. The ladies that I dealt with on both ends of the transaction were pleasant and cordial. I'm very happy with the transaction (under $30) and will do more business with them the next time I need something cleaned. I'm choosing to post this in order to offer at least a single counter to the lop-sided reviews. That's my experience.

I am sharing my experience so customers can make an informed decision before entrusting their…read moreclothing to Vick's Cleaners / Palm Press Cleaners. I brought a custom-made suit to Vick's Cleaners that cost $1,073.93. When the suit was returned, the jacket had significant damage, including holes and separation of the fabric. The damage was serious enough that the suit could no longer be used as intended. What followed was extremely frustrating. I was initially given one possible explanation for the damage, including the possibility of a manufacturer defect. Later, the possibility of insects was raised as another explanation. I disputed that explanation, particularly because I properly store my suits in garment bags and have not experienced similar damage to my other suits. The jacket was eventually sent to a "so-called laboratory" for examination. There were also delays and confusion surrounding the initial examination and the need for further examination concerning the holes and fabric separation. I made numerous attempts to resolve the matter directly. When those efforts were unsuccessful, I ultimately pursued the matter through small claims court. Unfortunately, the matter was not successfully resolved through the court process. During the proceedings, I learned that the previous owner/operator of Vick's Cleaners had filed for bankruptcy. The current business, Palm Press Cleaners, maintained that the damage occurred before they took over the business and that the garment was therefore not in their care at the time. However, there is an important part of this story that I believe customers should know: the current management became directly involved after the damage was discovered. They communicated with me about the condition of my jacket, discussed possible explanations for the damage--including the possibility of insects--and had the jacket submitted for laboratory examination. I am not claiming that the current owners personally caused the damage. My concern is that, regardless of the change in ownership, I was left with a damaged $1,073.93 suit and was unable to obtain a satisfactory resolution. The current owners have stated that they have invested more than $200,000 in new equipment and improvements since incident in April 2026. I hope those improvements benefit their customers. However, new equipment does not change what happened to my garment or my experience dealing with the aftermath. My review is based on my personal experience and the documentation I retained, including photographs, receipts, communications, and documentation concerning the laboratory examination and court proceedings. The issue for me is not simply that my suit was damaged. It was the damage itself, the changing explanations, the delays, the ownership transition, and the difficulty obtaining a satisfactory resolution. After this experience, I would NOT trust any garment--not an inexpensive garment, not an expensive garment, and certainly not a custom garment--in their care. Customers can make their own decisions, but I strongly recommend doing your research and understanding how the business handles damaged garments before leaving your clothing with them.

Tried to coax me into house full of smoke after fire even though I have breathing issues. Linda Heflin told us that if they took anything they had to clean it which I find from other companies that this is unusual and most companies take high value items. I feel they took advantage of this fire situation. Tried to refuse the drop off and us inspecting our clothing even after we signed a form stating that was required. Told our insurance company that our clothing didn't smell like smoke and it was badly smoke damaged and another employee confirmed that it did. Brought someone else's property to our home at delivery. Deleted my last review and wrote their own. Requesting our insurance to do a fire test after holding onto this damaged property for almost 6 months. Refused to put us through to the owner to file complaint.
